(Weekend blog)
You probably noticed that the Electoral Commission has fined one Brexit group, Leave.EU, for allegedly mis-stating its spending during the EU Referendum.
Arron Banks from Leave.EU issued a statement:The Electoral Commission is a Blairite Swamp Creation packed full of establishment Remoaners that couldnt quite make it to the House of Lords, but managed to get their noses in the trough via appointment to public bodies like the Electoral Commission“.
We view the Electoral Commission announcement as a politically motivated attack on Brexit and the 17.4m people who defied the establishment to vote for an independent Britain”.
But dont take my word for it. In the own words of the EC chairman, Sir John Holmes, The Brexit Campaign was a panoply of Eurosceptic nonsense!
Other board members have weighed in with comments like, Tony Blair was spot on when he declared Brexit was not inevitable and another commented that the young should not be bound by the result of the referendum.
But who are the Electoral Commission? Well some unkind individuals have suggested that they’re nothing but a bunch of privileged, elitist, pro-EU Remoaners:
I, of course disagree and believe that the Electoral Commission are honest, unbiased public servants bravely battling for electoral integrity and fairness and sticking to the rules and……blah blah blah (is that ok, PC Plod?)
However, if I remember correctly, the Cameron government spent about 9 million of our money sending a booklet to every home in the UK.
The booklet was called “Why the government believes that voting to remain in the European Union is the best decision for the UK”.
(Here’s a link)
Remember that?
It’s odd that the unbiased, objective, fair, unbiased, fair, very unbiased, very fair, honest etc etc etc members of the noble, honest, unbiased Electoral unbiased Commission didn’t see fit to investigate and fine the Government for overspending on its pro-EU campaigning??????
It’s odd that, when reporting the fines imposed on the Brexit group, none of the mainstream media seems to have remembered the Cameron government’s blatant attempts to bypass electoral spending laws and boost the Remain vote by sending out such a biased booklet.
Life is so odd, isn’t it?
The Remoaners of the Electoral Commission, lily-white, unbiased, unprejudiced, incorruptible (evidently misusing public money is not corruption), are determined to scupper Brexit by any means available. In Britain as a whole, it was the young, predominantly ill-educated in a system designed to turn out unquestioning conformists to the Gvt. line, ignorant of Britain’s proudly independant past because they no longer learn any history (other than how deplorable was slavery and how Germany now passionately rejects Nazism), who favour clinging to the European concept, terrified that Britain is incapable of standing alone. Well – if, having democratically spoken, Britain is subsequently denied Brexit by the machinations of a clique of treacherous politicians, corrupt bureaucrats and self-seeking lords, then democracy will indeed be dead and our nation can look forward to a future of increasing European dictatorship. I suppose we shouldn’t get ourselves in too much of a state over it though. It is we idiotic, ignorant, inexperienced oldies, teetering on the brink of Alzheimer’s, who still retain some faith in our inherent national ability to make good in the face of adversity, who wanted our national independence back and voted for Brexit. We shall be long dead by the time today’s young discover just what they gave away and it is they who will have to deal with the consequences when “Europe” is just another name for a gigantic German-ruled state and Britain the off-shore island to which to consign all the low-life unwanted on mainland Europe.
Loved the comment. You should be writing your own blog.
“Without any boundary reforms, constituencies would be based on data that is over 20 years old.”
The report is due to be released in September and if approved finally new boundaries will come into place in 2022. It wont though as DUP wont support.
Currently the bias in the electoral boundaries favours labour by roughly 10% and undoubtedly has forced tories to become new labour resulting in the present one party state.
The electoral commission are at the heart of the britains problems and scrutiny on its actions and appointments in the 80/90s is needed. Boundaries need immediate reform and parliament size reduced.
The government leaflet was an even bigger waste of money when you consider that Cameron and Osborne spent the entire campaign telling us how bad things would be if we left. The leaflet repeated what they had said. Now people are complaining that they were not told about the consequences of leaving.
‘Still Reading’ – great comment. And those young people, as they come under the heel of Islam in Europe, will ask ‘why did the lily white idiots running Britain and the EU not see that Islam was laughing at their stupidity, all the way to the welfare office?’
Or perhaps, Julia, they are already so conditioned that, like the population in “Soumission”, Michel Houellebecqu’s horrifying depiction of a future France under Islamic domination, they will pacifically revert to a culture where women wear the veil and submit to the will of their spouses and male parents. Incidentally, we hear this morning that some lunatic ran amok with a knife last night in Paris, yelling something about his “snackbar” as he stabbed one man to death and wounded several more. Just a little bit extra excitement, then, added to a routine night out in the City of Light. Nothing to get too exercised about!
The Worst Man In Modern History.
It seems extraordinary that in defiance of all factual history and philosophical knowledge anyone should celebrate the bicentenary of the birth of Karl Marx. More than anyone, through wrong-headed ideas, he bears responsibility, indirectly admittedly, for the deaths of an estimated one hundred million people in the last century, and the severe suppression though economic and social servitude of fully one third of the worlds population. And if you also include those who have suffered under the yoke of Marxist-inspired modern socialism, the philosophy that says the state is more important than the individual, you could argue nearly the whole world is influenced by Marxian philosophy today.
