David Craig, on October 29th, 2015I have previously written about a Scottish charity called Scotia Aid to Sierra Leone which I believe to be just a get-rich-quick scheme for its three founders.
Now we hear that this charity, which claims to help African children, is being probed by a number of councils over an alleged cash-raising scam.�Scotia Aid Sierra Leone is facing numerous investigations into a controversial business rates loophole it may have been using to raise fortunes.
In the latest accounts Scotia Aid to Sierra Leone seems to have used just �137,819 of its �1,017,771 income for charitable activities while paying its three founders about �313,873 in ‘consultancy fees’. Oooopps!
(A cynic might suggest that by paying themselves ‘consultancy fees’ to companies they own, the three founders avoid punitive income tax and pay the much lower corporation tax)
One of the public bodies pursuing Scotia Aid is Broxtowe Borough Council in Nottinghamshire. It has raised civil court proceedings against the charity to recover �369,000, it claims.�However, last week�s court hearing was postponed after lawyers argued Scotia Aid�s chairman, Dan Houston, 62, was too ill to attend the two-day session.
The council is pursuing Mr Houston and fellow trustees Kieran Kelly and CEO Alan Johnston over business rates relief it gave to the charity.
At present, charities can qualify for a discount of up to 100% on the business equivalent of council tax if buildings are used for �charitable activities�.�But the ruling has led to an explosion in the number of businesses cutting deals with charities to take on empty � and expensive � warehouses.�In return, many charities receive sizeable donations.
However, it�s an alleged �scam� potentially costing taxpayers millions in lost revenue.
Officials in Broxtowe began probing Scotia Aid around two years ago.
Sources say the charity claimed to council chiefs it was using two sites � one the size of four Hampden Parks � to store furniture it was preparing to send to Sierra Leone in containers.�But council bosses grew suspicious when it applied for rates relief to store mattresses at another first-floor warehouse � even though the building didn�t have a lift.�Officials visited the two sites repeatedly, often finding them empty or with a �minimum� amount of furniture stored.
Scotia Aid bosses were asked to hand over paperwork to prove how many containers they had sent to Africa, but failed to do so.
The charity has made dozens of applications to authorities south of the Border to take over empty warehouses, hundreds of miles from its base near Uddingston, South Lanarkshire.
And many councils have raised concerns about Scotia Aid�s applications for business rates relief. The sites include a former bowling alley in Plymouth and an old snooker hall in Bournemouth.
In Nottingham, the city council has instructed bailiffs to recover a bill believed to be in the region of �170,000 from Scotia Aid after obtaining a �liability order� over non-payment of council tax and rates.
A spokesman for St Helens Council in Merseyside said it �currently has half a dozen outstanding business rate liabilities for Scotia Aid Sierra Leone from 2011 to date totalling just over �30,000�.�He added: �Court action has been taken in all cases but as the company is outside England or Wales enforcement capabilities are limited.�
Rushmoor Borough Council, which covers Aldershot and Farnborough in Hampshire, considered legal action to recover �240,000 but abandoned the process after Scotia Aid ended its relief deal there.
In Leeds, the charity was given a �37,000 discount on business rates between 2012 and 2013.�But the deal was scrapped after it �failed to provide evidence that the building was being used for genuine charitable purposes�, a spokeswoman said.
A whistleblower who used to work at Scotia Aid said his job had been to contact councils across England to find out if there were any empty warehouses in the area.�He said: �It was all just a scam to make Scotia Aid money.�
Despite growing controversy surrounding the body, it continues to be a registered charity in Scotland and hosted a glitzy fundraising ball at the Marriott Hotel in Glasgow last month, with Mr Houston in attendance. Clearly he was lot healthier then than now as he could attend the ball in September but not the court case in October.

I was pretty quickly “unfriended” but received nothing in the way of a reply. Only the second time I’ve been unfriended … the first was to a page dedicated to bullying Hunt Saboteurs (hold no brief for HuntSabs, but I don’t like bullies either). All this rejection is most worrying

Nicole, a German school teacher told me once, when she asks her students what they want to become in the future, the majority of Turkish students say, “State benefit receiver.”
Three million Turks live already in Germany already, while 2.5 million of them have German nationality, and the majority of them are conservative Muslims.
Very few Turks in Germany have a regular job; about 20%. The other 80% live on the so-called Hartz IV (state social benefits). 70% of their children have no GCSE; they left school before they finished their basic education.
According to the German state benefit system, every adult citizen who possesses the German nationality, unemployed and cannot find an appropriate job, is entitled to get monthly 482 � ($627). Additionally, parents get for each child under 18 years old, 200 � ($261), plus all their monthly expenditures in terms of rent, heating, power, health insurance, and public transport.
“Amazingly enough some Turks who live on the generous state benefits can afford to buy a house or an apartment and drive luxurious cars like Mercedes or BMW.” Says Klaus, a landlord whose tenants are a case in point.

I speak not of the true refugees�women and children�but of the hordes of young and able bodied Muslim men; the ones shouting �Allahu Akbar!� as they barge into Europe.
A silver lining exists in the dust cloud being beat up by the marching feet of millions of Muslim men migrating into the West: those many Europeans and Americans, who could never understand Islam in theory, will now have the opportunity to understand it through direct and personal experience.
Perhaps then they will awaken to reality?
The fact is, most Western people have had very little personal interaction with Muslims. Moreover, because Muslims in the West are still a tiny minority�in the U.S., they are reportedly less than one percent of the population�those few Muslims that Westerners do interact with are often on their best behavior, being surrounded as they are by a sea of infidels (according to the doctrine of taqiyya).
And although there are a few media outlets and websites that document the hard but ugly truths of Islam, these are drowned out by the overarching �Narrative� that emanates from the indoctrination centers of the West (schools, universities, news rooms, Hollywood, political talking heads, et al).
According to the Narrative, there is nothing to fear from Islam. If violence and mayhem seem to follow Muslims wherever they go�not to mention plague the entire Islamic world�that is because Muslims are angry, frustrated, and aggrieved, usually at things the West has done.
Although Islamic doctrine calls on Muslims to have enmity for and strive to subjugate non-Muslims whenever possible; although Muslims initiated hostilities against and were the scourge of Europe for a thousand years, until they were defanged in the modern era; although most of the so-called �Muslim world� rests on land that was violently seized from non-Muslims; although reportedly some 270 million non-Muslims have been killed by the jihad over the centuries; and although many modern day Muslims maintain the same worldview that animated their ancestors�most people in the West remain ignorant.
In this context�or absolute lack thereof�how is the average Western person to know the truth about Islam?
Enter mass Muslim migrations. That is, let the barbarians at the gate in.
When discussing Western and Muslim interactions in the modern era, it�s my custom to provide historical precedents to show that Muslim hostilities�whether hate for Christians and their churches and crosses, or whether violent lust for �white� women�are not aberrations but continuations.
In this case, however, I have none to give. For never before in history have the peoples of one civilization been so divorced from reality as to welcome millions of people from an alien civilization�one that terrorized their ancestors for centuries�to come and dwell among them.
The only �history� one can cite is the modern day experiences of those European regions that already have significant Muslim populations, and are taking more in.
In Germany and the United Kingdom, crime and rape have soared in direct proportion to the number of Muslim �refugees� accepted. Sweden alone�where rape has increased by 1,472% since that country embraced �multiculturalism��is reportedly on the verge of collapse.
The price of the Islamic influx into Western lands is violence and chaos, in accordance with Islam�s Rule of Numbers: women and children will be exploited and raped; the elderly will be mugged; churches and other institutions will be attacked; terror will set in. Look to the plight of non-Muslims living alongside Muslims to get an idea of what is coming.
But alas, at this late hour, such appears to be the price that must be paid for decades of willful ignorance. If the West cannot learn the truth about Islam from theory, from doctrine, from history, and now even from ongoing current events, then let it learn from up close and personal contact.
And if after such firsthand experiences, any Western nation is still too politically correct to act in the name of self-preservation, then let it die. For it will be evident that there is little left worth saving.

A father of eleven who has been claiming benefits for the past ten years says he doesn�t believe in using contraception � even though he admits the government pays for his children�s upkeep.
Mohammed Salim and his wife Noreen, 40, from Rochdale, Greater Manchester, receive �27,000 a year in child tax credits and job seeker’s allowance.
The 58-year-old Muslim said he doesn�t believe he has been irresponsible for having so many offspring. They had their eldest son in 1991 and another ten followed, with their ages now ranging between 24 to seven years old.
Mohammed said he has no regrets about having a large family, even though, in his words, ‘it is the government who pay for their upkeep, food and clothing’.
And he admits the family shopping bill comes to �300 a week.
As a result, Mohammed said would struggle if their welfare bill was capped at �500 a week as the government are currently proposing.
He said: ‘We are feeding 13 people. �500 a week is not enough, the costs are there, we are having to stretch and stretch. Rather than going up they want to shrink them down.
�Next year there will be another cap and I will lose out.’
Along with the weekly shopping, Mohammed said they have to fork out on modern gadgets for their children as they all want iPhones.
‘I am the richest man in the world with these children,’ he said. ‘I have a big family, I am on benefits, there is a worry there but god always see us through.’

Turkish associations and others recently met in the town hall to discuss the new name. Peter Kurz, the burgomeister, proposed the name �Little Istanbul�. Other suggestions included �Beyoglu� and �K�c�k Istanbul�. The plan is to narrow the list of proposed names down to three then put the matter to the vote in a referendum.

Last April, police in Sicily reported that Muslim migrants hurled as many as 53 Christians overboard during a crossing from Libya.
