As Remembrance Sunday approaches, perhaps we should remember a few things about the Afghanistan conflict such as: it’s a pointless war: we are the invaders hated by the majority of Afghans: the people attacking our troops are freedom-fighters trying to liberate their country: we are supporting a corrupt puppet government that is siphoning off our money to build its own property and business empire in Dubai: as soon as our troops leave the rotten Karzai and his partners in crime will scarper and live in luxury for the rest of their lives: our leaders claim we are winning – this is a lie – we are losing: our enemies can outlast us so eventually we will have to withdraw having achieved nothing: our troops are dying and getting injured for nothing: our leaders are too selfish and too cowardly to put an end to this pointless waste of money and human lives.
There’s a lot to remember as we approach Remembrance Sunday.
