The Tories’ cunning plan is to send observers into council meetings where there is a UKIP councillor and try to catch them saying things which the Tory press can then use to smear UKIP. The first shot was fired yesterday when both the Mail on Sunday and the Sun on Sunday came out with a story claiming that a UKIP candidate wanted to bring Sharia Law to Britain:
But the Tories should be a little careful with their great new plan. After all, there are plenty of Tory councillors who have been convicted of offences like rape, paedophilia, fraud, drug-smuggling. Here are just a few deviant Tories:

I’ve got plenty more like this. But you probably get the picture by now. Oh, I almost forgot. The Tory leader on my local council Bournemouth was “encouraged” to resign after being found to have pornography on his taxpayer-funded computer.
I suppose the problem for UKIP is that every slightly questionable statement or action by a UKIP councillor will be seized upon by the Tory press. Whereas every crime committed by Tory councillors will be completely ignored. It’s difficult to imagine the gleeful Tory press headlines if a UKIP candidate had been found fiddling around with young children or w*nking while viewing child porn on their computers.
Mahatma Gandhi wrote, “First they ignore you, then they laugh at you, then they fight you and then you win”.
Now, I’m not equating UKIP with Ghandi. But the Tory smear campaign does suggest the corrupt, sexually-deviant Tories are really cr*pping themselves.

Is there any substance to the accusation? I expect Farage is doing everything possible to avoid being accused of racism so he feels obliged to include a “cross section” of candidates. He’s also very quiet on matters regarding the Religion of Peace. The old duffer he replaced had the guts to invite Geert Wilders to the H of L.
I do not understand the apparent nuance of Paris Claims comment… If you actually know Nigel, as I do… You will know that he hasn’t got a racist bone in his body.
Which is not to say that there are not some party members that demonstrate prejudice (a different thing entirely)… I reckon that prejudice is something that everyone… even Paris Claims harbours, because that is one of the most human characteristics. e.g. preferring one’s family to one’s next door neighbour’s family… preferring the football team in your town, to the one in the neighbouring town etc..
Any “cross section” of candidates that applies to represent UKIP is entirely down to the fact that the only real ideology that UKIP intentionally demonstrates is the desire to return power to the lowest possible section of people…
Which means, in this order… Individual, family, parish, borough/village, town, city, county, nation, state, region, world. The first few are obvious, and the last two are co-operative and necessary… i.e. one has to deal with organisations such as the EU, the Commonwealth and the UN, but one does not wish to hand over complete sovereignty to such organisations. The individual is sovereign.
The left/right or the black/white or the Muslim/Christian paradigms are entirely based on an area’s traditions. So for instance the deputy leader of UKIP is from Liverpool, and is from a Labour background and definitely not conservative… not in the slightest bit.
I assumed that the candidate was a muslim. Easy mistake as the vast majority of people calling for sharia are muslims. Should have checked first, I suppose.
