Pompous idiot Osborne increases public spending yet again

The government’s latest plan to cut public spending is just as stupid as its previous efforts. Around 7,000 civilian staff at the MoD will lose their jobs. Firstly it should be said that the MoD is one of the most overstaffed and incompetent government departments. So I’m sure many of those going richly deserve their P45s. However, all that will happen will be a redundancy feeding frenzy which will cost much us taxpayers more than it will save. So public spending will actually increase rather than going down. Duh!

If only the government had a bit of imagination, it would put all MoD staff on a 3-day week. That would save about £46m every week and there would be no redundancy costs. Then gradually as people retired, overall staff costs would reduce. But unfortunately our chancellor and his overpaid advisers haven’t the brain power to realise that the way they are going about reducing public spending will only increase it.
