The genius of the Blair/Brown double act was in their differences – Tony the smooth actor, Gordon the grim reaper who was supposed to look after our finances. It is incredible that the Tories have not understood this and have two lookalike toffs as the main faces of their party. Osborne is damaged goods anyway – partly because of his holiday antics with Mandelson and oligarchs, partly because Boy George looks like he should still be in shorts and having to show his ID every time he buys another bottle of vintage champagne.
Unless Cameron replaces Boy George by someone with a bit of gravitas, the Tories risk losing the next election. So, call me Dave – what is most important? Winning the next election or only giving jobs to your rich and well-connected chums, however inexperienced and untalented they actually are?
