I hope readers have noticed how the mouth-frothing eco-loonies keep changing their name for the supposed climate catastrophe that they keep threatening, but which never seems to come.
First they called it “Global Warming”. But then the warming stopped for about 10 years, despite desperate figure-fiddling by the ‘experts’ at the East Anglia University centre for climate studies.
No problem, the Greenies found a new name – “Climate Change”. So, whether it was hot or cold, dry or wet, snowy or not, the Greenies could claim that what we were seeing was definite proof of supposed “Climate Change”.
But there was a new problem. In 2006, Nobel Prize winner Al Gore’s film “An Inconvenient Truth” predicted all sorts of ghastly things like glaciers melting and flooding of coastal cities and so on and so forth within about 10 years (if I remember correctly). None of this happened. Moreover, none of the predictions by any other body like the IPCC or the Met Office or NOAA happened either. So, ordinary people got a bit bored of the Greenies’ fatuous, hyperventilating predictions of imminent catastrophe.
No problem. The Greenies just changed the name again. In fact they changed it twice. First to “Climate Breakdown” and then to “Climate Crisis”. The Greenies seem to have settled for the moment on “Climate Crisis” as the alliteration makes that catchy. Though, of course, some climate ‘experts’ like Mad Greta Thunberg – the new climate saint who can apparently ‘see’ CO2 even though CO2 is invisible and only makes up 400 ppm (parts per million) of the atmosphere – are now ranting on about “Extinction”
Yes, there is warming
Yesterday, there was much heat and noise from the BBC and C4 News about Britain’s ten hottest years having occurred since 2002. And it’s true that there has been some warming in the UK:
But the supposed highest temperature ever for Scotland recorded in 2018, was found to be due to an ice cream van parked near the weather station. And the 2019 highest temperature ever for Britain, which was recorded at Cambridge University Botanical Gardens, has been shown to be partly due to massively increased urbanisation in Cambridge and due to the recent construction of the Plant Growth Facility (2004) and the Sainsbury Laboratory (2011):
Other weather stations situated a little further from the town centre came nowhere near recording record temperatures. I would humbly suggest that the nearby modern buildings will be air-conditioned and thus belching out heat into the local micro-climate.
However, there is warming. But as has been pointed out many times, this is mainly because we are moving from the Little Ice Age into the Modern Warm Period. So, of course there will be some warming:
A ‘Hearing’ where nothing will be heard?
Meanwhile today (Thursday 1 August 2019) in Boulder Colorado, the Democrats are holding a “Climate Crisis” hearing. Though, they won’t be ‘hearing’ anything as attendees will not be allowed to ask any questions or make any comments. The only people allowed to say anything at this ‘hearing’ will be the Warmie cult politicians. This Climate Crisis hearing comes after a winter with record snowfall at the Colorado ski resorts and thus a bumper year for local ski businesses, in spite of Warmie predictions that skiing would become increasingly difficult due to supposed Global Warming.

I’d like to use today’s blog to introduce you to Andrew Bolt (in case you haven’t heard of him).
Andrew Bolt is a commentator on current affairs on Sky News Australia. He’s interesting because he dares say things that would be considered crimes against political correctness in countries like the UK and USA.
In the short video below, Andrew Bolt criticises the Australian national broadcaster, ABC, for its anti-Israel bias. As you’ll see, the ABC loathes Israel just as much as our always biased BBC.

At two points in the short video below, there are clips of an ABC news presenter questioning an Israeli official. With her snarling, hate-filled, contempt for anything to do with Israel, one could be forgiven for thinking that she might be a twin sister of our C4 News’s Cathy Newman. They seem to me to have similar interviewing styles.
Anyway, here’s Andrew Bolt. Enjoy his free speech while it lasts and before Australia follows Britain down the path of progressive liberal censorship of any views which dare deviate from the officially-approved narrative:
Monday evenings are usually my TV-watching evening. There’s C4’s Dispatches at 20.00h and then BBC1’s Panorama at 20.30h. Of course, both programmes are usually total politically-correct bollox usually blaming white colonialism or Brexit or Farage or Trump or suchlike for all the world’s problems.
But yesterday evening, my bollox-meter dial went way off the normal scale while watching C4’s Dispatches. The Dispatches presenter – a woman of colour of course – claimed that “Today is a really hard time to be a young person”; that “68% of young people have had a mental health problem” and that severe underfunding of the NHS meant that these poor young people with supposed mental health problems weren’t getting the treatment they needed.
I’m left almost speechless by the utter stupidity of the whole programme. What about young people in Medieval times when half the children died from diseases that are easily treated nowadays? What about young people growing up during the Victorian industrialisation who were sent to work in mines and factories aged around 9 or 10? What about the young people who were sent off to the trenches in WWI at the age of 18 or 19? What about the young people who had to defend Britain against the German war machine in WWII?
It seems to me that young people “have never had it so good”. When I was young less than 10% of people went to ‘Uni’, now half of all young people can idle away three years at Uni by taking loans they’ll never earn enough to have to pay back to the taxpayer (to pay back a student loan in full, you’d have to be getting over £35,000 a year in your first job after Uni). And……….Oh, I give up. If people can’t see that today’s young have a better life than any generation before them, then there’s no point trying to convince them
Boris calls out police chiefs’ bluff
For years our useless, politically-correct, diversity-obsessed police bosses have assured us that rising crime is due to a 20,000 drop in the number of police officers. So now Boris Johnson has called their bluff and told them his government will fund the recruitment and employment of 20,000 more police officers over the next three years. Are the police chiefs happy? No way. Now they’re complaining that this is not enough and that they’ll need even more money and that crime is changing and etc etc etc.
One particular complaint the police chiefs have come up with is that they’re having difficulty recruiting people of the right calibre because Millennials don’t have the right strength of character to become effective serving police officers. I don’t buy this argument. I’d like to suggest that our police chiefs are responsible for their own recruitment problems, mainly because they’ve excluded more than half the population from their recruitment pool. How have they done this stupidity? By insisting that all police recruits have university degrees. Old-fashioned idiots like myself might believe that being street-wise and knowing the local community were more important than a third-rate degree from a fourth-rate university. But not our police chiefs. Bloody idiots!!!!!
In fact, our police bosses are just as stupid as our NHS bosses who now demand all nurses have a university degree. Result – shortage of good nurses and collapse in the standards of patient care.
Time for an identity parade?
You’ve probably all seen the short video below of a lady dressed as Darth Vader on a bad hair day abusing a gay rights pride LBGTQ+++ marcher. Had this been a tattooed white person doing the abuse, they’d be arrested and charged with a hate crime and public disorder and anything else the plods could think of. But because it was a Darth Vader lookalike, no action was taken.
However, now that the video has gone viral, the police claim to be investigating. So, how are they going to find the woman? Through an identity parade?
I’m afraid it’s the EU and Brexit again today. I’m writing this as I haven’t seen this explanation of the situation and solution in any of the mainstream media
EU painted into a corner?
I imagine the EU bureaucrats couldn’t stop laughing. The (IMHO) useless, incompetent, europhiliac, UK-hating Theresa May gave into every single demand the EU negotiators made before they even made them. She crawled and grovelled and prostrated herself to please her EU bosses and betrayed Britain in the process. She then lied and connived and misled her own ministers to try to get them to back her total capitulation to our enemies.
And all the time, the bureaucrats in Brussels celebrated their victory over Britain as they turned us into a vassal region of their undemocratic, wasteful, corrupt superstate. But there was just one problem. In their gloating humiliation of the worthless May, the Eurocrats went too far as they wanted to punish Britain to make sure no other country ever dared leave their German-controlled empire. So the terms the EU imposed on us were so draconian and humiliating that the pathetic, deceitful, piece of garbage May couldn’t get parliament to pass her total capitulation to Brussels.
That left the Eurocrats with a problem – they could not be seen to give any concessions otherwise they would lose face. And no EU bureaucrat ever wants to lose face, however much damage their intransigence causes to ordinary European workers. So we appear to be caught in a dead end. Boris wants the Irish backstop binned. The EU negotiators say this is unacceptable and impossible because they cannot be seen to compromise otherwise they will be portrayed as giving in to the UK.
Stalemate? Not quite.
The way out of the mess?
But the situation is not quite as intractable as the BBC and C4 News and other commentators like to suggest. You have to listen closely to Barnier’s and the Useless Drunk’s words. They have said that nothing can be renegotiated “within their existing mandate”. What they mean is that they cannot renegotiate given the orders they have received from the 27 EU leaders.
However, were the 27 EU leaders to change the mandate they have given Barnier and the Useless Stumbling Rat-arsed Drunk, then everything could be renegotiated without anyone losing face. Barnier and the Useless Rate-faced, Rat-arsed Drunk could just say “our brief has changed” and find a compromise acceptable to both the UK and the EU.
Will this happen? I doubt it as the Eurocrats are relying on (IMHO) scumbag traitors like Hammond, Grieve, Stewart and others of their ilk to destroy the Johnson government and replace Johnson with Corbyn.
But it seems incredible to me that none of the so-called ‘experts’, who pontificate daily on our TVs and in the press have noticed how the gloating Eurocrats have over-reached their power and thus painted themselves into a corner and how easy it would be for the 27 EU leaders to change the terms of the mandate they have given the EU negotiators so the EU negotiators could change tack without losing face.
LibDems reject democracy
And here, in case anyone actually cares what new LibDem leader, Jo someone or other, thinks, is the new LibDem leader admitting she would not accept the result of a second referendum if the majority voted ‘Leave’. But hey, thanks Jo for revealing what the Westminster elites really think about democracy:
Before going into the subject of this weekend’s blog, I’d just like to apologise to readers.
Whenever I use statistics, I always try to use accepted numbers from official sources. Occasionally I will make guesstimates as I did a couple of days ago when I guesstimated that only about 20 of the Royal Navy’s 30 ships (including submarines) were serviceable and therefore the Royal Navy had 33 admirals and 30 commodores for just 20 working vessels. But my guesstimate was wrong. I apologise. I’ve just seen a report in the Times suggesting that only half the Royal Navy’s vessels can put to sea without sinking. If this is true, then we have 33 admirals and 30 commodores – 63 very senior and very well-paid, well-pensioned senior officers – for just 15 serviceable vessels.
This would be funny if it wasn’t so tragic.
‘Heat island’ Cambridge is hot
I couldn’t resist a small smile when the BBC News this morning started hyperventilating about a new heat record being set in Cambridge yesterday. In yesterday’s blog, I did suggest that Cambridge had become a ‘heat island’ due to the rapidly-increasing population and large number of new, heat-emitting air-conditioned offices that have been built as many international pharmaceutical and hi-tech companies have set up operations in the city. These have turned a once quiet semi-rural academic town into a thriving city with a population density comparable to places like Derby and Wolverhampton.
No wonder Cambridge is getting hotter.
And thanks to a reader who alerted me to this link which suggests (as I have done) that the Cambridge temperature reading is influenced by the placement of the measurement station – possibly sheltered in a sun trap and influenced by an expanding urban area nearby:
This weekend I’d like to introduce you to Palestinian cleric Ali Abu Ahmad. Below is a short (one minute) part of a sermon/prayer/rant he preached at the Al-Aqsa Mosque that was uploaded to the Internet on June 28, 2019 so that others of his religious persuasion could learn from his wisdom.

You’ll notice that the crowd responds “Amen” to Ali Abu Ahmed’s call to kill all infidels and especially all Jews.
Oddly enough, no one in the crowd spoke up and said “Now wait a minute, Mr imam sir. We all know that Islam is a religion of peace! So surely we shouldn’t be killing anyone?”
Here’s a line from a Times article today bleating about supposed Global Warming (or Climate Change or Human Extinction or whatever it’s called this week): “Measured in Cambridge at 3.37pm, it beat the previous record for July of 36.7C, which was set at Heathrow in 2015. It was only 0.4C shy of the hottest temperature on record — 38.5C in Faversham, Kent, in 2003”.
Let’s take a few moments to analyse this latest scaremongering eco-posturing
Cambridge – more people, more offices, more cars, more air-conditioning
What do we know about Cambridge? Well, it’s got a jolly good university. And there’s a river full of punts. It’s also one of the fastest-growing cities in Britain:

The city continues to grow as ever more hi-tech and medical companies set up operations in the city to take advantage of the large number of highly-educated, highly-skilled people living there.
The population density for Cambridge is now over 3,000 people per km2. So, this once pleasant, largely-academic, semi-rural country town now has similar population density to places like Wolverhampton, Coventry and Derby. More people and more modern air-conditioned offices mean more heat. So, as Cambridge grows and grows, there will be an ever greater ‘heat island’ effect.
An ‘urban heat island’ is an urban area or metropolitan area that is significantly warmer than its surrounding rural areas due to human activities. The temperature difference usually is larger at night than during the day, and is most apparent when winds are weak.
Even if there wasn’t any Global Warming, we would expect the hottest temperatures in fast-growing, heat-island Cambridge to increase.
Why is Heathrow hot?
Then there are temperatures at Heathrow Airport – another place the BBC and mainstream media love to quote when trying to scare us with the threat of catastrophic Global Warming. What do we know about Heathrow? Well there are lots of lovely heat-reflecting tarmac, lots of heat-emitting planes and lovely large heat-emitting passenger terminals.
There has been relentless growth in Heathrow passenger numbers:
Moreover, there has also been massive growth in the population of Southeast England resulting in the M25 (which passes through Heathrow Airport) being log-jammed with heat-belching lorries and cars for much of the day. If ever there was a place in Britain with a major ‘heat island’ effect, it would be Heathrow Airport.
What about Paris?
There also loads of news reports about how Paris is also apparently “sweltering under record temperatures”. Here’s a graph of the French capital’s population growth:
More people = more cars, more buildings, more heat.
Of course, it has been hot in Paris. But when claiming heat records have been broken, the climate change doom-mongers never mention how rapidly-increasing populations can increase the ‘heat island’ effect.
Car parks can get hot
Here’s nice photo of a weather station measuring temperatures:
What do you notice? Yup, it’s in the middle of a car park and near some heat-emitting air-conditioned buildings. And this is apparently a problem with many hundreds of weather stations. They used to be located in the countryside. But as towns and cities have expanded, many weather stations that used to be in the middle of nice, cool, heat-absorbing fields are now in heat-reflecting car parks and beside heat-producing buildings. So, these weather stations would probably record hotter temperatures whether the climate was warming or not.
The situation is so bad that in 2018, the Met Office actually rejected a claim that Scotland had experienced its hottest day:
And the reason the Met Office rejected this ‘hottest day’ claim? Yup, you guessed it – the temperature measurement was taken in the middle of a car park. And what do you have in a car park? Yup, heat-belching cars.
Caveat emptor
I am not denying that the climate is changing. The climate is always changing. And I do not deny that the climate may be warming as we move from the Little Ice Age into the Modern Warm Period:
I’m only suggesting that we exercise a little caution when being bombarded with the mainstream media’s ever more hyperventilating claims of “hottest day ever” and “temperature records broken” and “we’re all going to die”.
You’ll probably feel like losing the will to live if I write a blog on Brexit and Boris Johnson’s new government. But I’ll go ahead anyway as I haven’t seen any of the mainstream media report what I believe is happening.
I hope Boris Johnson will succeed in delivering Brexit. But I fear he will be destroyed for two main reasons:

Boris Derangement Syndrome
These may lead to a situation where many Tory MPs would rather enable a Corbyn/McDonnell government than let Boris Johnson succeed where they have so obviously failed.
Let me try to briefly explain
The Tory Remoaners are (IMHO) blatant liars
There are whole bunch of Tory MPs who claim they are blocking a ‘no deal’ Brexit as this would supposedly be “a catastrophe” for the country were we to “crash out” of the EU without a deal. They never use the much more balanced expression “leave on WTO terms“. And they keep accusing Johnson of being intent on a ‘no deal’ departure. I haven’t the energy to name them all here – Grieve, Soubry, Clarke, Hammond etc etc. In my humble opinion they are all liars.
I believe that what they really want is to keep the UK in their beloved EU. They know the best way to do this is to weaken Britain’s negotiating position. And the best way to weaken Britain’s negotiating position is to convince the EU that Britain’s threat to leave without a deal is just empty bluff.
The scenario will then be that the EU won’t improve the terms offered to the useless, treacherous, incompetent May; Johnson will be seen to have failed; Johnson can then be forced to resign and the Remoaner liars can then claim everything is so difficult that we would be better off remaining in the EU.
The Tory Remoaners are (IMHO) liars. Don’t be taken in by their lies.
Boris Derangement Syndrome
Many Tory MPs loathe Johnson because he is seen as an ‘outsider’ who is more intelligent and charismatic than they are. The idea that Johnson could sweep into power, deliver Brexit and then win an election is anathema to them. After all, if Johnson were to be successful, this would make them look like the small-minded, incompetent, self-serving, worthless nobodies that they are. This would be a massive blow to their over-inflated egos. I would single out the (IMHO) impeccably arrogant Sir or Lord (or whatever he is) Alan Duncan as a prime representative of this particular breed. But hey, that’s just my personal opinion. I’m sure many other people consider Lord Sir Alan Duncan to be the most wonderfullest human being alive.
With Johnson, we have a situation slightly similar to the USA where normal political opposition has been replaced by a visceral loathing of the democratically-elected president Donald Trump. The idea of outsider Trump being a successful president horrifies his opponents. So Trump’s opponents are unable to put together any coherent policies as they’re all stricken down by Trump Derangement Syndrome. And the only way they can oppose him is by insulting him with profanities – “impeach the motherfucker” and “deport this asshole” – and by conjuring up ludicrous conspiracy theories like Trump colluded with Putin. Trump’s opponents have been driven to mouth-frothing, lunatic ravings by Trump Derangement Syndrome.
I worry that many of those Tories who see a Johnson success as a threat to their hyper-inflated but fragile egos would rather bring down a successful Tory government than allow Johnson to succeed.
Such is the illogicality of anyone driven to madness by Boris Derangement Syndrome.
Conclusion
I hope Johnson is successful. But I fear that the liars and those driven mad by Boris Derangement Syndrome will sabotage all Johnson’s efforts and make him fail.
I merely offer these opinions as I haven’t seen any of the above views mentioned in any of the mainstream media.
First here’s a story you won’t see widely reported in the UK mainstream media. The progressive media are howling and screaming about Trump’s supposed racism for daring the criticise the US-hating “Squad” and they’re branding Trump supporters as racists for chanting “send her back” about one of the members of the US-loathing “Squad” who was born in Somalia. But we didn’t hear a bleat from the mainstream media in 2015 when one of the “Squad” tweeted about Trump –“Deport this asshole”
This is the same ‘lady’ who screamed “Impeach the motherf**ker” at one of her rallies.
It seems that lefties think they can insult and threaten as much as they want. But as soon as someone dares to criticise them, they’re immediately branded a “racist” and worse.
Hate, kill, hate, kill, hate, kill……..
But let’s now focus on Britain. Here’s a short (3 minutes) video of a teacher at a Religion of Peacefulness school teaching the children that:
anyone leaving their religion must be killed
all adulterers must be killed
all homosexuals should be killed
they must hate the kuffars in the countries where they live
their only loyalty is to their religion and not the countries where they live
Will the British police be investigating this as a ‘hate crime’? Will the British police be investigating this as incitement to violence? Will the British mainstream media and the BBC and C4 News (Kathy Newman, Jon Snow and the small fat guy with the long name) be furiously denouncing this teacher and those who support her?
When Britain ‘hijacked’ an Iranian oil tanker, the Iranians helpfully informed us that they would ‘hijack’ one of ours in return. Given this warning, ordinary people might wonder why our Royal Navy failed to react to protect our shipping.
As the Royal Navy now belatedly scrambles around to find and crew a working warship to send to protect our shipping in the Straits of Hormuz, I thought it might be worth using today’s blog to help understand why our navy seems to be so utterly useless.
Helpfully, the Daily Mail did an article yesterday detailing the number of ships and submarines over the last few decades:
As you’ll see, since 1982, the number of vessels has been reduced from 80 to just 30. What we don’t know is how many of these 30 vessels are actually serviceable and don’t have major leaks or engine breakdowns every time they put to sea.
Moreover, despite only having 30 vessels, the Royal Navy seems to be suffering from a severe manpower shortage. A lack of sailors has meant that at least four British warships have not spent a day at sea in 2018. I believe all four were Type 23 frigates and they couldn’t leave port due to ageing hulls and under-manning. A National Audit Office report in April showed that the Royal Navy suffered a manpower shortage of 16 per cent in 2016/17.
But there’s one area of the Royal Navy where there seems to be no lack of ‘talent’ – the top brass. From what I could find out we have around 33 admirals (including vice admirals and rear admirals). That’s nice. We have more admirals that we have vessels. When Nelson fought in the Battle of Trafalgar, we had one admiral leading a whole fleet. Assuming that only around 20 of the Royal Navy’s vessels are seaworthy, we now have one and a half admirals per seaworthy vessel.
Not only does the once proud and effective Royal Navy have 33 admirals. It also has almost 30 commodores. But it only has around 27 captains. So the Royal Navy has 63 senior officers – more than twice as many senior officers than it has captains.
Let’s assume admirals and commodores are ‘senior managers’ and captains are ‘middle managers’. My limited understanding of organisations, after having worked in almost one hundred in 15 different countries, was that most effective organisations have a pyramid command structure with a lot fewer bosses than there were middle management. However, Britain’s Royal Navy seems to have a different approach apparently believing that the more highly-paid, highly-pensioned top bosses there are, the more effective the Navy would be.
One could be forgiven for wondering what all these admirals and commodores do all day.
All this leaves me suspecting that our once feared Royal Navy has become just another useless, bloated, ineffective, self-serving, incompetent, politicised bureaucracy like every other part of the public sector.

Make America Muslim?
For today’s blog I’d like to introduce you to Professor Sharifa Alkhateeb. According to Wikipedia Professor Sharifa Alkhateeb ‘was an American writer, researcher and teacher on cultural communication and community building for Islam and Muslims in the United States’.
Most of last week, the mainstream media still raged against Trump for his supposed racism for daring to criticise the Democrat “Squad” (Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Rashida Tlaib, Ayanna Pressley and Ilhan Omar) for their unrelenting vomiting of bile and hatred towards America. And the mainstream media continuously emphasised that the Squad were all “women of colour” in order to smear Trump with being both a racist and a misogynist even though Trump’s criticisms focused purely on the Squad’s apparent loathing of the USA.
The mainstream media, of course, usually omitted to mention that one of the Squad called Trump a “motherfucker”, another accused Trump of running “concentration camps” and all seem to be virulently anti-semitic.
America is a country built on immigration. But Americans expect immigrants to adopt American values and show loyalty to the country – to show some patriotism. So perhaps the short video below will show why some Americans are getting more than fed up with people who come to America and then spend their lives denigrating the country and trying to change it into the countries – often the world’s worst sh*t-holes – either they or their families originally came/escaped from.
In the video Professor Sharifa Alkhateeb explains how she and her co-religionists have a long-term plan to “make America Muslim”. She also boasts of how she has taught her children to only identify with their religion and to never say they are ‘Americans’ – not much loyalty to America there.
I have only watched a couple of minutes of this video. But that was enough to make it clear to me why many Americans may feel that people like Professor Sharifa Alkhateeb and the four (IMHO) America-loathing members of the Squad have no place in their country:
