By David Craig, on March 11th, 2011 First we had a Lord Hutton whitewash Blair’s involvement in the death of WMD expert David Kelly. Now a different Lord Hutton feels that all public-sector pensions should be cut, except of course those paid to politicians. You or I would have to put over £50,000 a year into our pension savings to get the same pension as an MP. Plus, of course, Hutton the Hypocrite was a government minister so he’ll get an even bigger pension. And, now he’s been put in the Lords, Hutton can go on claiming hugely generous expenses, without ever having to provide any receipts, every day for the rest of his life.
It seems that these obsequious, sycophantic, selfish Lord Huttons will say or do anything to ensure their own financial well-being and sod the rest of us.
By David Craig, on March 11th, 2011 Incredible as it may seem, the charming Muammar Gaddafi has ignored the blustering and threats from our toothless PM and the uppity dwarf who rules the cheese-eating surrender monkeys. Soon Gaddafi’s armies will push the rebels into the sea and a few hundred thousand Libyans will be coming to Britain to live off benefits for the rest of their days. What are you going to do, Mr Cameron? Nothing? I thought so. So China gets Libya’s oil.; the hapless BP once again finds itself deep in s–t; and we have to pay the bills for a humanitarian crisis.
Cocked that one up, eh Mr Cameron? We should have let the Libyans have their scrap and then bought the oil from the winner. Their fight never was our problem.
By David Craig, on March 10th, 2011 I’ve just published my latest book Pillaged! This exposes how we’re all being fleeced as the financial services industry takes £1 million a minute from our savings and pensions. Many personal finance journalists have refused to tell their readers about my book, because I criticise them for pushing the financial products which give their papers the most advertising.
I only got about £900 for writing this book. I did it because I wanted to warn all savers how we’re being ripped off by the financial services industry and their cheerleaders (personal finance journalists). But my book is being boycotted by all the national newspapers. Please tell everyone you know that my book will save them many of thousands of pounds and protect their savings from the greed and dishonesty of the finance industry and their puppets – personal finance journalists.
By David Craig, on March 10th, 2011 The “we know what’s best for you” politically-correct elite have won a new battle in their war against smokers. Every time they constrain our freedom – whether it be with smoking or eating junk food – they claim to be acting in our and the country’s best interests. But are they? Someone who smokes and/or gorges themselves on junk food will die 10 to 15 years before a healthy person. That will save taxpayers between £50,000 and £100,000 in pension costs. Of course, they’ll have higher medical costs while they’re alive. But has anyone ever done a proper cost/benefit analysis to see whether it might actually be better for us to allow the unhealthy to smoke and eat themselves to an early death rather than constantly hectoring them and taking away their pleasures to try and keep them on this earth for as long as possible?
Perhaps it would be cheaper for us and more fun for them if we let them smoke and drink their way to an early meeting with their Maker?
By David Craig, on March 9th, 2011 Our bungling government is going to have to eat a mountain of humble pie if, as seems likely, Gaddafi thrashes the uprising in Libya. For a start, Gaddafi will probably decide to sell his oil to someone else – for example China. So all Blair’s and Brown’s sycophantic grovelling to Gaddafi to get contracts for BP will have been in vain. But as China gets Libya’s oil, British taxpayers will get fleeced yet again as we’ll end up paying for hundreds of thousands of refugees who’ll flee Gaddafi’s vengeance. No doubt Cameron will tell us it’s our moral duty to let them come and live on benefits in Britain.
So China gets the oil, we get the refugees. Bit of a cock up, Cameron and Hague old chaps. Our national interest lies in buying Libya’s oil, it’s not our problem who runs the place. You’d have thought that after Iraq and Afghanistan, our useless politicians would have learnt not to stick their noses into other countries’ internal politics.
By David Craig, on March 8th, 2011 It’s a feature of any unelected bureaucracy that it can never admit to having made a mistake, however overwhelming the evidence of that bureaucracy’s stupidity. For half a century, the EU Common Fisheries Policy has led to a million tons of edible fish a year being thrown back dead into the sea. That 50 million tons could have fed a lot of people. But an even worse outrage is the EU’s politically correct demand that countries increase the amount of biofuel in cars and lorries. Soon about a third of farming production will be used, not for food, but to make petrol. This is causing food scarcity and prices to rocket – the price of corn has doubled in a year. The UN has called the EU biofuels policy “a crime against humanity”.
In the rich West, we can cope with rising food prices as food only makes up a small part of our spending. In Africa, where food can take as much as half a family’s income, massive price rises are catastrophic. The EU biofuels policy needs to be scrapped. But that would mean the well-paid, well-fed bureaucrats admitting they had made a mistake. They’d rather a few million deaths from starvation in Africa than concede that their policy was a disaster.
By David Craig, on March 7th, 2011 How different princes Charles and Andrew are. That great contribution to mankind and self-pitying general waste of skin Prince Charles obviously prefers the older, more matronly woman as he abandonned the glorious Diana to find solace with the more mature Camilla. Andrew, on the other hand, seems to like being around rather fresher meat. Though, of course, I’m sure he never touched any of the erotic masseuses which were possibly provided for his pleasure – except where he is pictured with a ‘fatherly’ arm around the waist of a delightful, nubile 17-year-old.
Poor old Queenie must really be wondering how it all went so horribly wrong with her eccentric but gormless sons.
By David Craig, on March 6th, 2011 Our amoeba-brained leaders have really and predictably cocked things up in Libya. By sending over some SAS troops and a diplomat, they’ve given Gaddafi a propaganda coup. Now Gaddafi can rally his people against the rebels by claiming, with some justification thanks to dickhead Cameron, that the whole rebellion is a Western-backed plot to get hold of Libya’s oil.
How stupid is Cameron? How can his advisers and generals be such f-ckwits? What the hell are our people doing in Libya anyway? What’s happening there is none of our business. Cameron you are a dickhead, liar, fool, buffoon etc etc. What about putting our country’s interests before your own egotistical need to puff yourself up as a ‘great world leader’? Because you’re not. You’re just a complete dickhead.
By David Craig, on March 5th, 2011 Would somebody please tell those idiots Cameron and Hague that the only British national interest in Libya is that we can buy oil from that country. We shouldn’t care who is in charge. If the Libyans want beat hell out of each other, that’s their pleasure and problem – sell them the weapons they want and let them get on with it. If there’s a huge refugee and humanitarian crisis – well there are two organisations which should help. There’s the African Union whose leaders salt away around $1 trillion a year in offshore bank accounts – money stolen from their citizens. So they can afford to help. And there’s the League of Arab Nations comprising some of the richest countries on the planet. So they too can afford to help their Arab brethren in Libya.
But there is no reason why a single British pound or a single British life should be wasted. Sorting out the Libya mess is the job for the wealthy League of Arab Nations and the utterly corrupt African Union. It’s time they took responsibility rather than relying on Western taxpayers to pay for the chaos in their region.
By David Craig, on March 3rd, 2011 The dismal incompetence of this government goes on and on. Now we hear that about 11,000 of our troops are to lose their jobs, meanwhile the over 87,000 civilian bureaucrats at the Ministry of Defence (MoD) continue to get bonuses, presumably for penpushing above and beyond the call of duty. About 3,300 of these penpushers are fortunate enough to work in the recently refurbished MoD HQ in the centre of London just beside the Thames. This building will cost us taxpayers more than £2.3 billion over the next thirty years – £78 million a year. This gives office costs of £23,636 per person per year – an interesting number when you consider that the starting wages of a squaddie are around £16,000 a year and that you can get office space in other UK cities for just £4,000 per person per year.
But as we’re seeing with most of the government’s cuts, the bureaucrats keep their jobs and bonuses, the lower-paid frontline workers get hammered.
And as for the buffoon governor of the Bank of England, while bemoaning the fact that our standard of living may never reach pre-2007 levels, he popped a cool extra £1.4 million of our money into his pension fund. So his standard of living will continue to be beyond the wildest dreams of those who actually pay his salary and pension.
