Don’t get conned by the great ISA scam

As we approach the end of the 2010-2011 tax year, we’re being bombarded by ads from financial services companies and articles by personal finance journalists telling us to put over £10,000 into an ISA. And most people will do what they’re told, guaranteeing they’ll lose money. Beware of two things:

On Cash ISAs, you can often get better interest rates on normal 2-3 year fixed savings accounts than you’ll get on your ISA, even after paying tax. So make sure you’re not getting fooled into a lower interest rate by the ISA label.

With Unit Trust ISAs, remember as soon as you put money into a unit trust you’re losing about 10% of your money in initial charges and the difference between the price you buy units and the price you can sell them. But have a look at, say, five of the bestselling unit trusts. You’ll find they all hold pretty much the same shares. So why not just buy the shares directly yourself? You’ll save yourself 10% immediately and up to 3% a year every year through not having to pay the unit trusts’ exhorbitant charges.

As ISA frenzy grips the country, don’t get conned into making financial services insiders rich with your money. And if you want a really good investment, why not buy my book Pillaged – it costs £8.99 or less and will probably save you tens of thousands of pounds.

Our thieving £200,000 a year MPs have the last laugh

After the expenses scandal, you might have expected our greedy thieving MPs to cut back on their stealing of our money. But no, with their usual arrogance and sense of entitlement they have waged a bitter war on the body meant to control their dishonesty (Independent Parliamentary Standards Authority Ipsa) and have now won that war. As the rest of us suffer from rising prices and job losses, MPs have just got a massive increase in the expenses they can claim/steal.

While pleading poverty, our worthless MPs don’t mention that most of them pocket over £200,000 a year. There’s £65,000 in salary, another £30,000 or so for their partner paid for supposedly being an employee, their pension is so generous that you or I would have to save over £50,000 a year to get the same pension as an MP, they can cheat over £20,000 a year on expenses and they have so little work that many have second, third and fourth jobs giving them £50,000 to £100,000 a year more.

Yet with the EU and regional assemblies making most of our laws now, we don’t need 646 MPs any more. About 200 would be quite enough. Yet these lying, thieving, arrogant parasites do what they want and steal what they want. How the Westminster scum must be laughing at our gullibility!

We’re losing £1m a minute from our savings and pensions

Every minute of every working day, financial services insiders take about £1m in fees, commissions, dealing costs and other charges from the money we save. This gives them over £400m a day, over £100bn a year for managing our money.

But what do we get for our £1m a minute? Our savings give little to no interest, our pension funds hardly grow and money in things like unit trusts seldom produces the mouthwatering returns touted in the sales pitches. If you expect to have a financially secure future, you cannot afford to keep giving these huge amounts of your money to the financial services industry. It’s time to take control of your own financial future. My book Pillaged suggests how.

Has ‘Parky’ Parkinson no sense of shame? Is he a whore?

We all love and trust Michael Parkinson, that great British icon. With his self-deprecating, laid-back interviewing style, Parkinson has been a key feature of our TV for decades. The man must be a multi-millionaire. So why does he debase himself (in my opinion) fronting up an advertising campaign for some crappy (in my opinion) insurance company trying to rip off (in my opinion) the over 50s? Hasn’t ‘Parky’ got enough money? What does he need a few hundred thousand or a couple of million more for? Yet all the suckers (in my opinion) who trust ‘Parky’ and his crappy (in my opinion) insurance company, will probably end up a lot poorer from buying ‘Parky’s’ third rate (in my opinion) insurance policies.

Has Parkinson no sense of shame? Will he do anything for money? Is he just a whore? I don’t know. What do you think?

AIDS rise poses problem for PC brigade

New figures released today show that the number of new cases of AIDS in Britain has doubled over the last ten years. Embarrassingly for the Politically Correct brigade, the largest increases in AIDS cases are amongst homosexuals and african men. For years the PC brigade has stifled attempts to deal with AIDS by preventing health workers from targeting the groups mainly at risk as to mention homosexuals would be sexual discrimination and, of course, to mention african men would be racist. So instead we’ve had to listen to claptrap claims that all sexual and racial groups are equally at risk.

It’s time to scrap the utterly useless £70m a year Equality and Human Rights Commission. This bunch of self-serving, parasitic, bureaucratic buffoons have done enough damage to our country with their new form of equality fascism. Let’s get rid of them.

Want a long, healthy life? Become an MP

The key to a long healthy life is to do just a little work, have 3-4 months a year holiday, be paid a lot of money and have a financially secure retirement with a large inflation-protected pension. Basically – become an MP. MPs work at most three days a week. Most do so little that they have time for several extra jobs on the side. Though they bleat about only being paid around £65,000 a year, they all actually pocket over £150,000 by paying a family member to ‘work’ for them and from profits made on their expenses. Plus their extra jobs can easily give them £50,000 to £100,000 a year. Then their pension scheme is so generous that you or I would have to save more than £50,000 a year to get the same pension as an MP. And finally, many will be pushed up into the Lords where they can claim massive expenses without showing any receipts for the rest of their lives.

If you really want a long, trouble-free, life of leisure and luxury, the best way is to become an MP, or better still an MEP.

Support from the Arab League? Ha ha ha

Blair took us into Iraq citing Sadam’s (fictional) weapons of mass destruction (WMDs). Cameron the Conqueror launched his crusade claiming support from the Arab League. That support now looks just as fictional as Tony’s WMDs.

Cameron the Conqueror wanted a war to boost his own image. Sarkozy needed a war to get re-elected. Our MPs love a new new war as it distracts our attention from their thieving. Let’s hope Gaddafi sinks a French carrier or warship and gives the vertically-challenged frog a bloody nose. Then our leaders won’t be feeling so gung-ho.

Cameron the Crusader unites Arab world

Perhaps we should congratulate the three flatulent, self-admiring fools Cameron, Hague and Sarkozy. After all they are about to achieve what no leader, not even an Israeli, has ever achieved. They are about to unite the Arab world. Unfortunately the Arabs will be united against us for what they believe is our aggression against their dear brothers and sisters in Libya.

Why can’t Cameron the Conqueror and his mates understand that Arabs don’t give a flying f–k if Gaddafi slaughters thousands, tens of thousands or even hundreds of thousands of his own people? I repeat, the Arabs don’t give a damn. But if one old granny in Libya has a heart attack when she sees a Western rocket going past her window, the whole Arab world will erupt in anti-western protests, burning flags, vowing revenge etc etc. The British people don’t want your war Cameron! The Arabs don’t want your war! And anyway you had the royal wedding of baldy and his princess to distract us from your economic incompetence. So why have you taken us into yet another unwinnable war, you pompous, cowardly, self-serving ass?

The Arabs don’t want your war, Cameron you lying idiot

A few hours after Cameron the Conqueror ‘bravely’ sent his troops off to the war he so desperately wanted, the Arab League performed a wonderful volte face and distanced themselves from Cameron’s and Sarkozy’s attempts to become popular by winning a quick war. Soon we’ll have mass protests in Arab countries against the West’s new ‘crusade against Islam’. Then thousands will flock to join Al Quaeda. Ordinary British, who didn’t want Cameron’s war and don’t have the luxury of 24-hour bodyguard protection, will go in fear of their lives as terrorist attacks on Britain are launched. Meanwhile Gaddafi, who is a lot smarter than the useless Cameron, will dig in, confident that public pressure will go his way.

What are you going to do then, Cameron? Kill a few thousand Libyans so you can claim a great victory?

Westminster’s “warriors” rush to war

There’s been a massive attack of pomposity and self-righteousness at Westminster as our thieving, lying leaders take us into yet another pointless war. Liar Cameron the Crusader can now parade about looking (he hopes) Churchillian as sycophantic journalists praise his courage and statesmanship. But does Liar Cameron have a plan? What’s he going to do when Gaddaffi digs in? Will it really all be over by Christmas? Or are we in for a ten year slaughter like Iraq and Afghanistan?

As Al Jazeera broadcasts film of Western forces murdering Libyans, there will be outrage in most Arab countries. Those Arab leaders who have supported the attacks on Libya will be most at risk of being overthrown by popular fury. Cowardly Cameron may just have started a new Arab revolt – one fuelled by anger at the West and one that will replace pro-western leaders by fundamentalist anti-western Muslim theocracies. Cameron you are a liar, a coward and a fool.
