I don’t normally watch any YouTube video longer than about 15 minutes. It seems to me that most longer videos could have said in five minutes or less what they spend ten times that waffling. Many presenters become so inebriated with their own pompous verbosity that they never seem to stop Could I be thinking about people like you, David Starkey?
However, when I started watching the video linked below, I found the presenter so articulate and so presuasive that I thought it worth watching to the end.
There is just one area where I disagree with Professor Betz. He envisages a civil war where (presumably white British) militias cut off supplies like electricity, gas, food and water to make life intolerable in the main cities where our multi-cultural enriching friends tend to congregate in order to force them to choose to leave Britain. I think it’s more likely that the invaders will decide that our country now belongs to them and so will fight back massacring families and stealing supplies in villages where white British tend to live.
But whichever scenario plays out, the future doesn’t look overly pleasant.
As we stumble miserably towards the end of one of the worst years in Britain’s recent history, I thought it might be worth taking a couple of moments to muse upon the difference between ‘Science’ and ‘The Science’.
According to one dictionary definition, ‘Science is the systematic study of the structure and behavior of the physical and natural world through observation, experimentation, and the testing of theories against the evidence obtained.’ So ‘Science’ seems to be a constant process of experimentaion, challenging, testing and learning.
‘The Science’ seems to be something quite different. ‘The Science’ is something which our ruling political, academic and media elites declare to be the one and only truth. It is supposedly ‘settled’, cannot be questioned and anyone who dares question ‘The Science’ is either a crazed conspracy theorist or just like a Holocaust denier and so should be ignored, cancelled, hounded out of their job and banned from ever publishing the results of any of their work.
So, ‘The Science’ is almost the opposite of ‘Science’. This conflict between ‘Science’ and ‘The Science’ and the Establishment’s brutal suppression of anyone questioning ‘The Science’ are, of course, nothing new. We’ll all be familiar with the story of astronomer and mathematical genius Galileo Galilei. When finally brought before the Inquisition for the heresy of claiming that the Sun (not the Earth) was the centre of the universe Galileo was found:
“vehemently suspect of heresy” (though he was never formally charged with heresy, relieving him of facing corporal punishment), namely of having held the opinions that the Sun lies motionless at the centre of the universe, that the Earth is not at its centre and moves, and that one may hold and defend an opinion as probable after it has been declared contrary to Holy Scripture. He was required to “abjure, curse and detest” those opinions.
He was sentenced to formal imprisonment at the pleasure of the Inquisition. On the following day, this was commuted to house arrest, under which he remained for the rest of his life.
His offending Dialogue was banned; and in an action not announced at the trial, publication of any of his works was forbidden, including any he might write in the future
And there are probably many more such historical examples of people being crushed for questioning ‘The Science’. The public excoriation of Charles Darwin after his publication of ‘The Origin of the Species’ springs to mind.
So, is today any different? We seem to be bombarded with many examples of what we are told to accept is ‘The Science’:
“Diversity is our strength” we are told, when time after time we see that when societies become too diverse they become fragmented, trust falls, different groups fight over resources and Lebanonisation and even civil war is often the result. But if you dare question mass uncontrolled immigration you’re branded a bigot, a racist, a fascist and you’re likely to lose your job and even be imprisoned
“Increasing CO2 is leading to Global Boiling’ and the only way we can avoid our own extinction is by committing economic suicide through slashing use of fossil fuels, moving to expensive and unreliable supposed ‘renewables’ and becoming dependent on China for manufactured goods. You won’t get far in life, if you try to expose this modern-day end-of-times death cult for the complete nonsense it is
“Populism is a threat to Democracy” – In Germany the main political parties have tried to have the ever more popular Alternativ fur Deutschland (AfD) banned for supposedly being a ‘threat to democracy’. As Reform increase their share of the polls, we can expect similar attacks on them. To the LibLabCon Uniparty, any challenge to them is “a threat to Democracy”

“The vaccines are safe and effective” we were assured and will prevent you killing granny. Firstly, this is a lie as the vaccines were never tested to see if they reduced transmission of the Chinese lab-leaked plague. And secondly, the vaccines were only slightly effective in reducing the risk of hospital admissions for limited vulnerable groups of people. To force widespread vaccination may well have caused more damage than it prevented.
You can probably think of many more examples where there seems to be a not inconsiderable difference between what ‘The Science’ and ‘Science’ are telling us.
So, to get back to the original question: ‘Is today any different?’
I think it is. I believe that today we are in a world where the beliefs and priorities of the ruling political, academic and media elites are in direct conflict with the beliefs and priorities of the majority of people. The elites believe that countries should no longer exist as they lead to xenophobia and conflict, that borders should be open to mass migration, that all cultures are equal, that the West is somehow inherently evil and exploitative for being so successful when so many other parts of the world have failed, that we would all be better off ruled by transnational globalist bodies like the EU, UN, WEF, WHO etc etc. And so Western ruling elites have constructed a series of lies – ‘The Science’ – to bludgeon us into submission with their world view. Anyone daring to question those lies – ‘The Science’ – by using real ‘Science’ is hounded by the Thought Police, threatened with losing their jobs and forced into silence and even imprisonment.
I doubt whether the gulf between ‘Science’ and ‘The Science’ has ever been larger than it is in our blighted times.
The BBC-adoring elites are bleating and howling about how The Donald’s court action against the BBC will have to be paid by ordinary license payers. But I don’t see it that way at all. I think the lefty Uk-hating, Israel-loathing, Islamophiliac, climate-catastrophist BBC propaganda machine has just over 21,000 employees. If the salaries of the top 5,000 were to be cut by say £20,000 a year each and the salaries of the next 5,000 were cut be say £10,000 each, that would generate about £150,000,000 a year. For ten years that would save £1.5bn. That would surely be enough to satisfy The Donald. I wonder why nobody else has thought of this elegant solution to the BBC’s latest self-inflicted crisis?
Though I rather suspect most Brits hope that The Donald will bankrupt the useless, perpetually-biased anti-British BBC.
My rough calculation suggests that we are now on about 1,382 days since Russia’s February 24 2022 invasion of Ukraine. Just to put that into context, WWI lasted 1,562 days and WWII 2,194 days. So Putin’s war with Ukraine is likely to last as long as the whole of WWI.
Let’s look at what Putin has gained from close to 4 years of war.
The land area of Russia is 17.1 km2. The land area of Ukraine is 604,628 km2. So Russia is about 28 times larger than Ukraine. Russia has captured about 20% of Ukraine – say about 120,000 km2. So, after almost four years of slaughter, Russia has increased its land area by a pathetic 0.7%.
The popuation density of Russia is 8.5 people per km2. For Ukraine it’s about 70 people per km2, for the EU it’s about 109 people per km2 and for the UK it’s about 287 people per km2. Moreover, the population of Russia is declining from about 145 million in 2000 to less than 130 million now due to low birth rates and low life expectancy:
Russia’s birth rate is around 1.5 children per woman (the replacement rate is usually considered to be 2.1 children per woman). Moreover, before the Ukraine invasion Russian life expectancy was about 73 years compared to 81.7 years in the EU and around 81 years in the UK.
Meanwhile, China is slowly but surely taking over huge swathes of Russia’s Far East by buying up Russia’s resources and moving Chinese workers into Russia. China is also changing the names of Russian cities in Russia’s Far East on maps to the original Chinese names before they were ceded to Russia.
Conclusion: Russia is a massive underpopulated country with huge resources and a declining population which has spent almost four years fighting a war with probably 250,000+ dead Russians and another 700,000+ seriously injured to expand its territory by well under 1% while actually losing territory to China.
This is truly madness. Our rulers keep on blethering about peace talks. But Putin cannot risk peace. He is so deep into his ‘two-week’ (four-year) invasion of Ukraine, he can never back down. There can only be peace when the leading Russian multi-billionaire klepto-oligarchs, decide that continuing this war is no longer in their financial interests, throw Putin out and move to reintegrate Russia with the West.

In the readers’ comments, one reader wrote “I wonder who is going to explain what has happened to Putin”. Another reader suggested: “Comrade Putin, I have some great news, one of our submarines has destroyed a Ukrainian underwater drone”. Thank heavens for the British sense of humour!
Attached below is a link to a short video released by the lying Tories at the end of last week. In it we are presented with a marvellous ‘Damascene conversion’ as the lying Tories are now backing away from the crazed Net Zero policies they spent 14 years imposing on us to supposedly save us from supposed ‘Global Boiling’. After all, it was Tory PM, Theresa May, who made the UK’s net-zero emissions target legally binding by 2050 through an amendment to the Climate Change Act, a move announced in June 2019 that made the UK the first major economy to legislate for it.
The order came into force on June 27, 2019, amending the Climate Change Act 2008. PM May stated it was time to “go further and faster” and lead the world to a greener form of growth. And, of course, the (IMHO) useless bumbling recidivist liar, Boris Johnson, kept telling us how he would make Britain the ‘Saudi Arabia of wind’ and a ‘clean energy superpower’. So, there hardly seems to be an iota of difference between May’s and Johnson’s economically-suicidal positions on climate change and that of the (IMHO) even more mentally-unhinged Ed Miliband.
However, now the lying Tories expect us to believe that they are really honestly cross-my-heart Net Zero sceptics and, if elected, will get rid of most of the Net Zero insanity which is giving Britain the highest energy prices in the world, impoverishing British homes and bankrupting what pathetically little is left of British industry.
I see at least three problems with the lying Tories’ supposed ‘Damascene conversion’:
the Tories seem to have forgotten that they were Net Zero cheerleaders for the 14 years they were in power and did irreparable damage to the British economy
even if the Nigerian woman, or whoever is Tory leader at the next election, really did understand how catastrophic the Tories’ former Net Zero fanaticism was, if more Tory MPs were elected, a whole lot of them would be the same old wet, limp-wristed LibDems pretending to be Tories (just like the last lot) and they would sabotage any attempts to water down Net Zero just as they sabotaged any attempt to secure a real Brexit
while criticising Miliband’s Net Zero madness, the Tory video doesn’t dare go as far as exposing the whole anthropogenic climate change nonsense for the scam it is. Instead they just promise to mitigate the destructive effects of Net Zero. This means the Tories still buy the man-made climate change BS. And any political party which really believes human activities are changing the Earth’s climate is a danger to our country. Here’s a story I don’t think either the UK-loathing BBC news or the West-hating C4 News will be too keen to report. Why not? Because it shows yet another Trump success and another humiliating (intentional?) Labour failure.
More than 2.5 million illegal immigrants have left the United States under the Trump administration, a “record-breaking achievement” in a year, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) said in a Dec. 10 statement.
The 2.5 million figure includes more than 605,000 individuals deported as part of DHS enforcement operations and about 1.9 million illegal immigrants who have voluntarily self-deported since January.
“Since January 20, DHS has arrested more than 595,000 illegal aliens,” DHS Assistant Secretary for Public Affairs Tricia McLaughlin said. “Illegal aliens are hearing our message to leave now. They know if they don’t, we will find them, we will arrest them, and they will never return.”
DHS encouraged illegal immigrants to use the CBP Home app, which allows them to notify the federal government of their intent to depart the United States willingly. Those who self-deport via the app get $1,000 and a free flight home.
According to DHS, it has prioritized the removal of the “worst of the worst” criminal illegal immigrants as part of the administration’s push to ensure law and order in the country.
The rapid decline in the illegal immigrant population is showing effects nationwide, such as a “resurgence in local job markets,” DHS said. In October, 12,000 jobs were added to the U.S. economy, which followed 431,000 additions in September.
Meanwhile, the Trump administration’s policies are continuing to be a robust barrier against the uncontrolled influx of illegal immigrants.
In October and November, there were 60,940 total encounters with illegal immigrants by border patrol agents nationwide, which is the “lowest start to a fiscal year ever,” Customs and Border Protection (CBP) said in a Dec. 4 statement.
Since Trump took office, nationwide apprehensions have averaged less than 10,000 per month, which is a “level of deterrence unmatched in modern border history,” CBP said.

Much howling and outrage from the usual Trump-haters as US planes blow up alleged Venezuelan drug-smugglers’ boats. The Trump administration is accused of having no evidence that the boats were smuggling drugs and so the US forces were supposedly ‘guilty’ of attacking innocent Venezuelan fishermen.
I’m no expert on fishing boats. But I am a qualified day skipper and have sailed in the Channel, the Mediterranean, Florida and off Malaysia. I did a little research and Professor Google told me: “Trawlers fish at slow speeds, typically 3 to 6 knots (3.5–7 mph), with large beam trawlers often towing near 6 knots and others around 3.5–4 knots, depending on gear, seabed, and target species. Cruising speeds to and from fishing grounds are much faster 7–10 knots or more.” I’m not saying that Venezuelan fishermen use trawling as their method for catching fish. I’m merely looking at the kind of speeds a fishing boat might use.
I suspect the boats the US planes are sinking all have 2 or 3 massive (and expensive – well out of the financial reach of any Venezuelan fishermen) outboard motors attached and are rocketing along at 30 to 40 knots or more. I can assure you that you’re not going to catch many fish going at that speed. In fact, most fish would struggle to keep up with these boats. So, it’s rather reasonable to assume these are not fishing boats crewed by innocent impoverished Venezuelan fishermen.
But, of course, the Trump-haters will use any excuse to attack him as he is determined to protect the Western values and Western civilisation Europe’s and Britain’s ruling, bureaucratic, academic and media ‘elites’ so despise and are so determined to destroy.
You’ll all know that Reeves’s latest budget from hell – the ‘Benefits Street Budget’ – is supposed to raise hundreds of thousands of children from supposed ‘child poverty’ by scrapping the ‘two-child’ benefits cap. Adolf Starmer claims that scrapping the two-child benefits cap is one of the policies he is most proud of. In fact, many families with more than two children will be our foreign ‘guests’ who have decided to enrich our country and culture by moving from Third-world hell-holes of their own making to our once green and pleasant and relatively crime- and rape-free land. So scrapping the two-child cap is just another example of UK-loathing Labour giving British taxpayers’ money to foreigners.
But there is a further problem with Labour’s claims about lifting hundreds of thousands of children out of poverty. The way child poverty is measured is a relative measure. This means that any child living in a home with less than 60% of the median income, is considered to be living in poverty.
Let’s quickly look at how this works.:
Imagine median incomes were to fall by say 30%, and the income of all households 60% or more under the median income fell by only 20%. This would mean that using the relative measure of child poverty there were many fewer children in supposed’ child poverty even though their household incomes had actually declined by 20%
If median incomes were to rise by say 30% and the incomes of those 60% or more under median income were to rise by say only 25%, there would magically be many more children in supposed ‘child poverty’ even though their household incomes had risen by 25%.
And now for some real figures. From what I can find out, ‘poverty’ for a family with two adults and two children is defined as having a weekly income of £530 or less – that’s £27,560 a year. Having lived in some Third-world and developing countries, an annual income of £27,560 in Britain doesn’t look particularly ‘poverty-stricken’ to me.
Perhaps a more useful measure of poverty is ‘absolute poverty’ – those households earning less than is considered sufficient to live. I haven’t been able to find a figure for ‘absolute poverty’. But I have found charts from several organisations showing that, however this is measured, this has plummeted over the last few decades:
So beware Labour’s claims that child poverty is widespread.
But, of course, the real bombshell which blows apart Labour’s claims that there is widespread child poverty is the claim that a working family with three children would have to earn as much as £50,000 or more a year before tax just to get the same standard of living as a non-working family with three children on benefits.
As they say, Britain is now just a massive socialist benefits system with an ever-shrinking ever-poorer country attached.

I thought it worth mentioning this recent shortish (about 11 minutes) video by Jacob Rees-Mogg (JRM) as it seems to me to be rather important. A key point JRM and several other commentators have made is that there is a statute of limitations of one year following an election for prosecutions for alleged misreporting of election expenses. As we are now more than one year away from the last election then the police shouldn’t even be investigating the allegations against Reform leader Nigel Farage. But no doubt our ever-so-impartial judges will decide to reinterpret the law in order to smear, attack and destroy Farage and Reform if they can get away with it:

After all, Trump was supposedly an ignorant oaf while those supercilliously mocking him were highly-intelligent, sophisticated diplomats. We all know how that turned out.
I expect Europe’s and Britain’s leaders will all be laughing with derision again as a new National Security report issued by the White House predicts Europe faces “civilisational erasure” if it does not cut migration.
The Continent will be “unrecognisable in 20 years or less” if present trends continue, the 29-page document warns, adding that several nations could be “majority non-European”.
The strategy document, which lays out the Trump administration’s priorities across the globe, warns that Europe’s migration policies are “creating strife, censorship of free speech and suppression of political opposition”.
“Continental Europe has been losing share of global GDP—down from 25 percent in 1990 to 14 percent today—partly owing to national and transnational regulations that undermine creativity and industriousness.”
“But this economic decline is eclipsed by the real and more stark prospect of civilizational erasure. The larger issues facing Europe include activities of the European Union and other transnational bodies that undermine political liberty and sovereignty, migration policies that are transforming the continent and creating strife, censorship of free speech and suppression of political opposition, cratering birthrates, and loss of national identities and self-confidence.”
“Should present trends continue, the continent will be unrecognizable in 20 years or less. As such, it is far from obvious whether certain European countries will have economies and militaries strong enough to remain reliable allies. Many of these nations are currently doubling down on their present path. We want Europe to remain European, to regain its civilizational self-confidence, and to abandon its failed focus on regulatory suffocation”.
The report predicts that as Europe becomes less European, it will no longer be a reliable NATO ally:
Over the long term, it is more than plausible that within a few decades at the latest, certain NATO members will become majority non-European. As such, it is an open question whether they will view their place in the world, or their alliance with the United States, in the same way as those who signed the NATO charter.
In fact, Europe’s leaders have already begun their usual arrogant, condescending mockery. “This is JD Vance on steroids,” said Carl Bildt, the former prime minister of Sweden, dismissevely referring to the US vice president’s castigating speech on European politics at the Munich Security Conference in February 2025.
The disdainful Mr Bildt is, of course, just one of Sweden’s leaders who have allowed/encouraged mass immigration to turn their country from the most peaceful, crime-free, socially-cohesive (and boring?) country in Europe:

Sweden also now has one of the highest murder rates in Europe. But I guess Mr Bildt doesn’t live in one of what Swedish authorites call “sensitive areas”, so he probably doesn’t give a damn about the way he has helped wreck the lives of his citizens.
As for Britain, White British will probably be in a minority by around 2060. And we all know which group will be the most powerful non-British group in what was once our country. I hardly think whoever is running our country by then will share the views of Trump’s America about protecting Western civilisation.
So, Europe’s and Britain’s rulers will jeer and snigger at the latest warning from Trump’s America. But Europe’s oppressed and impoverished citizens may not share their rulers’ sneering and scorn at the latest warnings from the only Western leader who seems to understand the importance of protecting what’s left of First-world civilisation from invading forces of Third-world barbarity.
Though there’s one issue the US National Security report seems to steer clear of – the possibility of civil war in several European countries. I wonder why?
