By David Craig, on November 7th, 2009 Rumour has it that some MPs have managed to recruit a few tame journalists to launch a campaign of vilification against Sir Christopher Kelly in order to undermine him and sink his proposals for reforms of the MPs’ expenses system. The first attack will probably come tomorrow in your Sunday papers.
By David Craig, on November 7th, 2009 So, Cameron the Coward has dumped his promise of a referendum on the Lisbon Treaty. Of course, his reasoning is rationally correct – a referendum after the next election would be too late to affect Lisbon. But politically this may be a disaster – by driving voters towards UKIP, Cameron the Coward may split the Tory vote and allow Labour another five years to completely bankrupt the country. A referendum would have given Cameron a much stronger mandate to resist the bureaucrats of Brussels. But with Cameron’s failure to take any real stand on the hopeless Afghan war, the EU, MPs’ expenses and, in fact, anything at all, his chances of ever becoming PM are looking increasingly slim
By David Craig, on November 7th, 2009 Every day our MPs come up with new reasons to chip away at the proposed reforms of their expenses. Now they claim it’s an abuse of their human rights if they’re not allowed to shower their family members with our money for supposedly ‘working’. Plus, Speaker the Dishonourable John ‘Flipper’ Bercow says that it would be too difficult to investigate which MPs have avoided taxes and made fortunes from flipping their homes.
We all know how this will end. Those who have been defrauding us will either be allowed to waltz away into the sunset with their taxfree fortunes intact or else will just stay in Westminster and it will be sleazy business as usual. But perhaps dirty, selfish, dumbed-down Britain has got the politicians it deserves.
By David Craig, on November 6th, 2009 This obscenity was a headline in today’s grovelling Guardian. But Gordon Brown isn’t fighting the Taliban. He is safely ensconced in Downing Street, protected by armed police and, like all his colleagues, filling his pockets with as much taxpayers’ money as they can before the next election.
Haven’t we all had enough lies from our blustering, greedy, dishonest self-serving politicians! Bring our troops home and leave the Afghans to rot in a hell of their own making.
By David Craig, on November 6th, 2009 Our government is keen to put warning labels on everything from food to electrical goods. So why not TV programmes? They could be rated according to the intelligence required from the viewer. So the X-Factor could have a ‘Really dumb’ rating; BBC News an ‘Average intelligence’ score; Channel Four News an ‘Above average intelligence’ and Mastermind or University Challenge a ‘Working brain required’ label. This would enable people in today’s dumbed-down Britain to choose programmes that would not overtax their particular capabilities and warn them away from programmes they might find difficult to follow and therefore possibly damaging to their self-esteem and mental health.
By David Craig, on November 6th, 2009 Our leaders are meeting again to squeeze more money from us to fight the new bogeyman ‘Climate Change’. The plan is that we will pay ever more taxes and that our billions will be handed over to Third World governments supposedly to help them fight the effects of Global Warming.
There is a rule of thumb. About 10% of money handed out by Western governments to their own people is lost due to fraud. For the EU handing out cash, about 30% is lost due to fraud. UN studies in the Third World have repeatedly shown between 70% and 100% is lost to fraud and corruption.
At the moment the EU Emissions Trading Scheme hands over £4bn a year of our money to China and India for schemes to fight Climate Change – most of these are fraudulent.
Decades ago Jimmy Carter warned us that foreign aid meant taking money from the poor in the rich countries to give to the rich in the poor countries. The latest bunch of Climate Change taxes will just continue this long and disgraceful tradition.
Still at least Al Gore and many Third World politicians and businessmen are getting rich, so Climate Change is putting a smile on some people’s faces.
By David Craig, on November 5th, 2009 Why does nobody dare tell the truth? If we had been beaten by Nazi Germany in the 2nd World War and then we had Iraqi or Afghan troops invading us and patrolling our streets to supposedly rid us of Nazi dictatorship, most people would fight against them to regain our freedom.
Similarly, to most Afghanis and Iraqis we are an occupying army from an alien religion and as long as we are in their country, they will try to kill our soldiers. We’ve now been there over 8 years – almost as long as the two World Wars together. Get our troops out, bring them home and use them to protect our country and help mend our broken society!
Come on now Brown, you lying coward, bring our troops home!
By David Craig, on November 5th, 2009 Today the papers are full of stories about how our crooked MPs are trying to get themselves £100,000 a year salaries. I already reported this story in April 2008 on page 182 of Squandered and then again on 29 June 2008 in a Sunday Mail article titled Why we should sack half our MPs. Our thieving MPs claim they need a huge pay rise because it’s more difficult to cheat on their expenses. But they have actually been plotting this cash-grab long before the expenses scandal erupted.
By David Craig, on November 4th, 2009 In 2005, I received evidence that ‘Sir’ Fred Goodwin might have committed a major fraud (hundreds of millions of pounds). I passed this on to the SFO and the Bank of England and suggested, as politely as I could, that Sir Fred Goodwin was not a fit person to run a bank. In spite of conversations with senior people at both the SFO and the Bank of Engand, my concerns were ignored.
The British taxpayer would be a lot wealthier today if the bigwigs had bothered looking at the evidence I offered them.
By David Craig, on November 4th, 2009 Gordon Brown once promised us a referendum on the EU Constitution aka the Lisbon Treaty. That was just another broken promise from Britain’s worst ever prime minister.
Now, Lord David Cameron of Eaton has promised us a referendum on any future EU treaties. But, as he well knows, the Lisbon Constitution contains a ‘self-amending’ clause which allows the EU to take any powers they wish WITHOUT any further treaties. There will be no further treaties!
Has Baron David Cameron of Eaton been taking lessons in how to lie from our PM?
