By David Craig, on January 8th, 2010 Can we predict the future? When it comes to human greed, we probably can. So here’s one to watch. Sometime in 2010, Goldman Sachs will deliberately engineer a loss of confidence in Sterling. The pound will then fall to well below parity with the euro as investors dump it. This will allow Goldman Sachs to buy Sterling cheaply from panicking investors and make tens of billions when the pound quickly rebounds to about 1.12 euro.
The moral of the story – get a job with Goldman Sachs.
By David Craig, on January 7th, 2010 Hyper-warmist Guardian columnist George Monbiot seems to have been unusually quiet recently. As Britain freezes in the coldest winter for over thirty years, many of us are waiting with baited (and frozen) breath for our favourite Global Warming expert to explain how it can be so cold when the earth is supposedly getting warmer every year. Come on George, tell us what’s happening!
By David Craig, on January 5th, 2010 What an election this is going to be. A completely discredited government led by a lying sociopath, backed by a glove-puppet chancellor and controlled by devious man/woman reptile. A ludicrous Tory party with a Blair lookalike leading it, a damaged-goods shadow chancellor still in short trousers and apparently nobody else with any intelligence, profile or talent and the usual ineffective posturing by the pointless LibDem timeservers achieving nothing apart from pocketing their salaries and expenses.
How could British politics have sunk so low?
By David Craig, on January 4th, 2010 The man’s arrogance is almost unbelievable. Brown has started his election campaign claiming he will ‘fight for Britain’. Isn’t this the same Gordon Brown who prevented us having the promised referendum on the Lisbon Treaty which handed over control of Britain to the French and Germans who decide all EU policy? Isn’t this the same Gordon Brown who was so embarrassed by his Lisbon Treaty sell-out that he wouldn’t allow himself to be photographed with the other EU leaders at the signing ceremony?
Brown lied about the economy while bankrupting Britain; he lied about our troops being given proper equipment and sufficient helicopters; he lied when he promised ‘British jobs for British workers’ while allowing almost uncontrolled immigration; he lied when he said he would clean up MPs’ expenses; he lied when he said he would reduce bureaucracy in the NHS to give more money to frontline services… I could go on, but won’t. Gordon Brown is a liar. For ten years he’s given us a stream of lies. You are a liar Gordon Brown – sue me if you can!
By David Craig, on January 3rd, 2010 In spite of all the hot air emitted from various orifices by global warming fashionistas like George Monbiot and his warmist fellow-travellers, 2009 gave us the wettest summer and coldest winter for 20-30 years. Still, no doubt once the Met Office and the ‘University’ of East Anglia have massaged the figures, they’ll claim that 2009 was the warmest year on record and the politically-correct BBC will faithfully keep on pumping out warming stories as we all sit freezing in our homes.
By David Craig, on December 31st, 2009 According to recent articles in the Sunday Times and the Telegraph, it’s certain that David Cameron will move into Number 10 after the next election. But how can they be so sure? Cameron stands for nothing. Osborne is damaged goods and clearly out of his aristocratic depth. The rest of the Tory frontbenchers are mediocre nobodies.
Meanwhile on the Labour side, Lady Mandelson has more intelligence, cunning and venom in his little finger than the whole Tory Party put together. If I were you, I’d sell pounds now and start planning to leave Brown’s bankrupt Britain as the election outcome is far from a foregone conclusion.
By David Craig, on December 31st, 2009 While the Guardianistas howl and wail about the removal of a convicted drug-smuggler from this earth, there might be some people who could admire the Chinese government for being ‘tough on crime, tough on the causers of crime’ while our government is ‘soft on crime, tough on the victims of crime’.
By David Craig, on December 22nd, 2009 The increasingly pointless Church of England reached a new low this week when some dopey minister claimed that it was ok for people on benefits to shoplift. Perhaps this useless dullard wasn’t aware that Britain has the highest rate of people on disability benefits in the world – there is absolutely nothing wrong with at least half the 2.5m people claiming disability. As for unemployment benefits – of course there are many genuine claimants. But every day at my local Jobcentre Plus there is a long line of expensive cars – Jaguars, Range Rovers, Toyota Sports etc (cars I as a taxpayer could never afford) – parked on the double yellow lines with their engines runnng and their drivers waiting while a member of their family was inside filling up with taxpayers’ money.
Perhaps the Church of England should preach ‘thou shalt not defraud the benefits system’ rather than ‘thou shalt steal from shops’.
By David Craig, on December 20th, 2009 The ‘financial advisor’ at my bank tried to convince me to put some money into ISAs last week. He made great play of the 20% tax savings I would make from an ISA. So I asked why the interest rates on ISAs are at least 30% lower than the interest paid on normal one- or two-year savings, resulting in the supposed ‘tax savings’ being more than wiped out by the low ISA interest rates giving the banks an obscenely healthy profit at savers’ expense.
The financial advisor laughed and admitted that ISAs were a complete rip-off, but that most of the bank’s customers were too stupid to realise this.
By David Craig, on December 19th, 2009 As we all shiver in the unusually cold weather, we should be giving thanks to our great leader Gordon Brown. Once he has handed over billions of pounds of our money to corrupt dictators in Third World countries, Global Warming will stop and we weather will cool down again. Nice one, Gordon.
