By David Craig, on June 3rd, 2013 One of the few promises our lying PM David Cameron has actually kept has been to increase foreign aid to 0.7% of GDP. This meant that in April this year, our foreign aid budget leapt by an astonishing 33% from £7.9bn last year to £10.5bn now. Just this increase of £2.6bn would have been enough to pay the salaries of the 32,400 police and 40,000 military who are being fired to save money.
As if that were not enough, let’s look at who gets this money. The table below shows the main recipients of our aid money, the amount they get and their position in the Transparency International Corruption Perceptions Index. On the Index countries are rated from 1 (Denmark) meaning the least corrupt to 174 (Somalia) the most corrupt country in the world (click on picture to see more clearly or to print).

As you’ll see, the most corrupt countries in the world get the most aid. Is that smart? And some countries – Pakistan and Russia – have absolutely no need for our aid at all. As for giving hundreds of millions to Hamas……expletive deleted.
Every year, the world’s worst kleptocrats deposit at least ten times as much money in offshore tax havens as their countries receive in Western aid. So, if we could just reduce corruption by 10%, there would be no need to give any aid at all. And if we could reduce corruption by 50%, these countries would have five times as much money as they receive in aid and most of the world’s poorest countries could start climbing out of their self-inflicted poverty.
Study after study after study by the UN and various aid experts have shown that at least 80% of aid money is lost through incompetence or stolen by corrupt politicians, bureaucrats and their business cronies. Maybe we should stop all aid and help these poverty-stricken hell-holes stamp out corruption? Or is that an unreasonable question?
By David Craig, on June 2nd, 2013 Here’s a picture of an average day at something that’s misleadingly called “UK Border Control”:

But how can our leaders use the words “Border Control” when well over 250,000 people a year come to live in Britain?
Since 1997, over 4 million people have come to Britain legally and maybe 1 to 2 million illegally. That’s 5,000 legal immigrants a week. That’s equivalent to a town like Hull (256,000), Wolverhampton (250,000), Derby (249,000) or Milton Keynes (248,000) every year. England is now more densely populated than China, India or Japan.
From January 2014, another flood of immigration will come from both Romania and Bulgaria and from Romanians and Bulgarians in countries like Italy and Spain which are in recession. Our leaders refuse to tell us how many will come here for fear of a new surge in support for UKIP. Migration Watch UK has suggested that about 50,000 Romanians and Bulgarians will come here. But the figure could be much higher. In the 7 years Romania and Bulgaria have been in the EU, 997,000 Romanians and over 70,000 Bulgarians have moved to Italy. That’s 152,000 a year. Similarly about 920,000 Romanians and 170,000 Bulgarians have moved to Spain. That’s 156,000 a year. Rather more than the Migration Watch UK figures.
Britain has many more jobs and much more generous benefits than Italy or Spain. So, it’s virtually certain that at least 150,000 will move here every year, in addition to the couple of hundred thousand from other EU countries and other parts of the world. This is not some wild exaggeration. It’s simply based on what has already happened in other European countries.
Oh, and here’s a picture of a swan:

And here’s a picture of a manhole cover:

Enjoy looking at them. Because once the new arrivals realise that barbecued swan is delicious and that manhole covers can fetch a good price at their local scrap metal dealers, we won’t be seeing too many swans or manhole covers.

(After yesterday’s rather serious blog, I thought it good to lighten up today. So here’s a story of “customer service” from one of so many big companies that really seem to loathe their customers)
It seems that O2 have got tired of their stupid customers calling them with problems and complaints. Also it appears that O2 thinks it’s too expensive to pay UK staff to provide anything resembling “customer service”. So, O2 have apparently decided on a policy of what they call “contact deflection”. The aim of “contact deflection” is to make it so difficult for customers to call them, that customers give up and instead either go to the FAQs (Frequently Asked Questions) section or the webchat section on O2’s website. This wonderful “contact deflection” will worsen O2’s already pathetic “customer service”:
But “contact deflection” will save O2 almost £1bn over 10 years. Presumably much of that £1bn will flow into the pockets of O2 executives.
O2 have, it seems, signed a £1.2bn contract to outsource their pathetic “customer service” operation to Capita (aka Crapita). This will probably involve the closure of customer service facilities in Bury, Greater Manchester, and Glasgow by the end of 2015. Staff at O2’s call centre in the Dearne Valley will be slashed from over 2,000 to 730. Capita will also cut 145 of 725 jobs from the Leeds call centre in 2015, when a 2-year jobs guarantee from O2 expires.
In all, Capita plans to retain only around 1,370 of O2’s 3,700 UK staff due to be transferred at the start of the deal in July. About 500 of the 2,330 UK staff losing their jobs will be given other jobs within Capita. About 1,830 can go whistle Dixie.
A Capita call centre in Cape Town, that already handles some “customer service” calls much more cheaply than they are handled by UK staff, will be expanded from 200 to 660 low-paid employees. And a Capita centre in India offering support via web chat using extremely cheap Indian staff will also be increased.
It has been reported that staff of more than 5,800 worldwide currently “serving” O2 customers will be reduced to less than 3,000 by the end of Capita’s 10-year contract. “Discouraging calls, web chat and encouraging customers to use self-service option online are expected to account for half the almost £1bn that O2 will save. Sending jobs overseas and closing sites will provide a third, with the rest expected to be derived from productivity gains.”
If I were an O2 customer, I’d say “stuff you” and move to another provider – preferably one that supports jobs in Britain.
By David Craig, on May 31st, 2013 I was chilled by this short (4 mins) Facebook video where a gentleman from the Religion of Peace explains that anyone who is not a believer should “burn in hell”. Of course, the presenter may have been deliberately provocative in order to “tell a good story” and get viewers outraged. But her targets were pretty forthcoming about their views of us and our society. I won’t say anything else, viewers should make up their own minds about whether multiculturalism has gone too far and some basic British values of tolerance and respect for others are being lost:
https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?v=146985575485401&set=vb.100005218781519&type=2&theatre
Here’s a comment from a Times reader which seems pertinent:
“If these heinous acts were done in the name of Catholicism, or Protestants, or indeed that Scientology rabble, there would be a MASSIVE public demonstration of those from that religion. A “white hands” march saying something like “Not in my name”.
The Muslim community (yes, I know it doesn’t have a hierarchal church type structure blah blah blah) should have made it ABUNDANTLY clear to the rest of their fellow islanders that this is not in their name.
Instead, the only marching we will see tomorrow is the BNP.. there is a Spanish expression
“El que calla, otorga”
It basically translates as “who is silent accepts his guilt” – it sums up perfectly the attitude the Muslim community of Britain needs to understand.”
Here’s a comment from someone who read this blog giving a bit more information about the film clip I link to:
“This is an extract from a programme which Stacey Dooley did a couple of years back… FYI, she is one of BBC3’s “right on” “yoof” presenters……No she is not being provocative, this was but a short extract from the show… https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/p00pbclq The whole programme “oddly” seems to have disappeared from “iPlayer”. She interviewed the founder of the EDL, also from Luton, and she met up with some of her old school friends who are Muslims, she dressed in the “garb” and went out on the street as well.
In essence, unusually for something BBC, she gave good, even coverage of the situation in her home town…
I reckon that she was genuinely shocked by that “demonstration”, by “peace loving” Muslims.”
By David Craig, on May 30th, 2013 (Sorry, but it’s Global Warming again today)
I’m a bit pushed for time today. So I’ll just give you four headlines from the New York Times. They seem to show that every 30 to 40 years, “scientists” claim the earth is either about to go into another Ice Age or is about to boil. And every time, they’ve been wrong.
GEOLOGISTS THINK THE WORLD MAY BE FROZEN UP AGAIN New York Times Feb 24 1895
EARTH IS STEADILY GROWING WARMER New York Times May 15 1932
A MAJOR COOLING IS WIDELY THOUGHT INEVITABLE New York Times May 21 1975
THE CLIMATE IS CRASHING AND GLOBAL WARMING IS TO BLAME New York Times May 3 2005
I wonder what this is telling us?
By David Craig, on May 29th, 2013 Aneurin Bevan, son of a Welsh coalminer and the politician credited with driving through the creation of the NHS, once said: “This island is made mainly of coal and surrounded by fish. Only an organising genius could produce a shortage of coal and fish in Great Britain at the same time”. Well, it seems that our politicians must be, as Bevan sarcastically remarked, “organising geniuses” as they’ve managed to produce both a shortage of coal and a shortage of fish at the same time.
First coal Actually we have plenty of coal. Enough for at least the next 200 years. The problem is we’re not allowed to use it. The EU’s Large Combustion Plant Directive requires Britain to close all its efficient, economic coal-fired power stations, even though most have many years of useful life left.
But hold on a minute, Germany opened 2 new coal-fired power stations in 2012 and will open another 6 this year. So, something odd is happening. Yup. Idiot Ed Miliband’s ridiculous 2008 Climate Change Act requires any new coal-fired power stations in Britain to use “carbon capture” technology, even though this doesn’t yet exist. Moreover, we now know that CO2 is not causing global warming as CO2 emissions have rocketed over the last 15 years, while even the warmists admit temperatures have remained stable. So, we can’t burn our cheap coal and instead have to import expensive Russian gas – definite signs of Bevan’s “organising genius”.
What about our fish? Britain has around 70% of the EU’s fish stocks. But when we went into the Common Market, we generously gave these away to the EU as what’s called a “common resource”. This means they no longer belong to us, but are owned by the EU. Only £600m of fish is landed each year in the UK out of the £2.5bn of fish caught in British waters.
Having given away our fish, Britain has obey the rules of the EU’s Common Fisheries Policy (CFP). These allocate Total Allowable Catches (TACs) to each boat. So, a single boat may only be allowed to catch a limited quantity of a few types of fish. The problem is that fish are quite stupid. This means they don’t stick to their own shoals all the time as Brussels bureaucrats expect. The result – while fishing for one type of fish, a boat may accidentally catch some of another kind. But this is against CFP rules. So, the illegal fish have to be thrown back into the sea dead. An incredible 800,000 tons of edible fish are discarded each year to please Brussels bureaucrats.
Moreover, only the stupid Brits actually stick to CFP rules and we spend around £30m a year on maritime control to ensure that the few British fishing boats left adhere to the rules. Meanwhile the Spanish, with the largest fishing fleet in Europe, spend less than we do on control and most of the Spanish fishery control staff are based in nice offices in Madrid. Last time I looked at a map, Madrid was rather far from the sea. The result – 80% of all British fish stocks are overfished compared with 25% of global stocks. Please note that countries with successful fishery policies – Canada, Norway, USA and New Zealand – don’t control TACs, they control “days at sea” and forbid discards meaning all fish caught must be landed.
So there we have it. An island made of coal and surrounded by fish, can’t use its coal and doesn’t have any fish. Proof that an “organising genius” is in control?
(Sad day yesterday – nobody bought a copy of my latest book GREED UNLIMITED. Well, at least I’ll have lots of copies to burn to keep me warm this coming winter. Though, maybe I won’t need them if Global Warming leads to us basking in sunshine throughout the winter months)
By David Craig, on May 28th, 2013 Hopefully you all know about that excellent game you can play at work called “Bullshit Bingo”, You have a list of meaningless, fashionable, management-speak words and when you’re in a meeting, you tick them off as people use them. Then the first person to tick off 5 or 10 (whatever number you agree) is the winner. Though, please don’t jump up and shout “bingo” – it might slightly damage your career.
Well, you can also play “bullshit bingo” when politicians and bureaucrats are being interviewed. To get your game going, here are lists of the vacuous, meaningless words to look out for. I’m rushing today, so I’m stealing these from someone else’s blog (https://aljahom.wordpress.com/2010/03/15/introducing-ultimate-bullshit-bingo-card/)
Have a good game (click on images to see more clearly or to print for your game):

(Yesterday just one person bought a paperback copy of my latest book GREED UNLIMITED and one person bought a Kindle version. At this rate, it’s going to take me about 3 years to sell the remaining copies which are blocking up my office at home. Can anyone help?)
By David Craig, on May 27th, 2013 As we all know now, the “dodgy dossier” that gave Blair the excuse to start the Iraq invasion and kill over 100,000 mostly innocent people was based on about as much fact as the story of Goldilocks and the Three Bears. However, all those involved in producing this piece of fiction (Blair’s dodgy dossier, not the Goldilocks story) were promoted and well-rewarded.
So, what about the 2006 Stern Report on Global Warming (aka Climate Change). Was this a rigorous scientific presentation of the facts? Or was it a work of suppositions and spurious claims all designed to satisfy the Labour Government and give it the excuse to introduce Secretary of State for Energy and Climate Change’s (Ed Miliband’s) 2008 Climate Change Act that would mandate an 80% cut overall in six greenhouse gases by 2050?
Last week, Lord Stern, author of the eponymous report admitted “I note this last decade or so has been fairly flat”. Ah, the good lord admits that the earth has not warmed in the last 10-15 years in spite of a massive increase in the amount of CO2 being released into the atmosphere.
Here’s a nice graph showing the relatively stable temperatures in Central England for the last 350 years and the humungous rise in CO2 emissions (click on chart to see more clearly)

Good heavens. Surprise, surprise. There seems to be no link at all between temperatures and the levels of CO2. Who would have thunk it?
So, has the good lord changed his mind about the dangers of Global Warming or Climate Change or whatever it’s called this week? Absolutely not. In fact he has written to the Prime Minister “urging him to introduce a target to decarbonise electricity by 2030 as part of the Energy Bill, currently going through Parliament”.
While China and India and Germany and many other countries are rushing to build CO2 emitting coal-fired power stations, the good lord is urging Britain to commit economic and commercial suicide by hugely increasing the cost of electricity in Britain. But then the good lord probably has a well-paid public-sector job and wonderful public-sector pension. Plus he’s got all those generous “expenses” from just turning up at the House of Lords to sign in if he’s ever short of a bob or two. So, a cynic might perhaps conclude that Lord Stern is not particularly sensitive to the destruction of the British economy and British jobs caused by Ed Miliband’s appallingly pointless Climate Change Act based on his Stern Report. After all, he’s all right Jack.
So, is Lord Stern a far-seeing, rigorous and selfless public servant bravely battling to save us all from extinction?
Or is he just another sycophantic bureaucrat, who has produced a dodgy dossier on Global Warming, and now finds he cannot lose face by admitting he got it (intentionally or unintentionally) wrong and so keeps on defending his claims in spite of the mounting scientific evidence proving his report was a load of baloney?
I don’t know.
Oh, and here’s a link to a story that “leading scientists” (Global Warming figure fiddlers?) have requested immunity from prosecution if it’s found out that they’ve been fiddling with their figures all along.
https://johnosullivan.wordpress.com/2012/06/14/un-climate-scientists-plead-for-immunity-from-criminal-prosecution/
How did our useless leaders ever believe the whole Global Warming scam?
(every week I ask readers of this blog to support the site and the work I put into it by buying a copy of my latest book GREED UNLIMITED. Each time only about one person does. So it’s all a bit of a struggle. Hey, ho, that’s the way it goes)
By David Craig, on May 26th, 2013 For more than obvious reasons, I must be careful about what I write today. So, I’ll make a few very brief observations and then refer you to a YouTube video made by an American ridiculing our politicians and journalists as they desperately try to explain away the Woolwich murder https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=SH7Ty8iPh5c
(I’m afraid it’s 9 minutes long. But the first 3-4 minutes where the person quotes extensively from the Koran is quite enough to expose the dishonesty of the politically-correct establishment)
Anyway, here are some establishment reactions to the murder:
THE GUARDIAN
Sit down and take a deep breath. In a Leader article discussing the murder of a British soldier, hacked to death by devout Muslims, one of the Guardian’s conclusions was: “Our research shows that EDL supporters are more likely than others in society to view violence as a justifiable course of action”.
Um, hold on a minute. Who hacked the soldier to death? Overweight, beer-bellied, shaven-headed, barely literate British right-wingers? No, they were devout Mulsims following what they thought was their duty as specified in the Koran.
Who was responsible for the London tube and bus bombings? Overweight, beer-bellied, shaven-headed, barely literate British right-wingers? No, they were devout Muslims following what they thought was their duty as specified in the Koran.
In fact, I’m struggling to remember any incident when the EDL or any other right-wing group made up of overweight, beer-bellied, shaven-headed, barely literate British right-wingers have murdered anyone claiming they were “doing God’s will”
THE POLICE
As for our politically-correct, useless police. Two Muslim madmen hack a soldier to death – the police take 15 to 20 minutes to arrive. A few overweight, beer-bellied, shaven-headed, barely literate EDL supporters with flags congregate near an underground station – police take 2 minutes to arrive.
Perhaps interestingly, the Swedish police have taken exactly the same politically-correct course as the British police. When immigrant youths started rioting and burning cars, homes and businesses, the police decided not to intervene in order to “calm the situation”. But when groups of Swedes started forming to try to protect their cars, homes and businesses, they were immediately arrested.
THE POLITICIANS
Tameena Hussain on Conservative Home: “The Woolwich horror was not, repeat not, caused by Islam” This assertion was (as you will see in the YouTube film) repeatedly used by both David Cameron and Boris Johnson. And, of course, Clegg and Miliband parroted the same message.
Yet, anyone with a knowledge of the Koran, particularly Chapter 9 (as the YouTube video helpfully shows), would know that what the British establishment are saying is absolutely not what Islam’s holy book tells its believers.
By David Craig, on May 25th, 2013 In an age where PR is more important than substance and where politicians’ and bureaucrats’ highest priority is their own financial well-being, it can sometimes be difficult to understand what they are really saying. So I’ve tried to start assembling a guide to what our leaders actually mean. I’m sure readers of this blog can think of many more examples:
“I accept full responsibility” = I’m hanging onto my job, big salary and massive pension, so you can all Foxtrot Oscar
“A full and thorough investigation” = A full and thorough cover-up
“Leaving no stone unturned” = Quick, delete all those emails and shred those documents!
“Expenses” = Unlimited amounts of taxpayers’ money which we can siphon off at will
“Fairness” = We’re pushing taxes up so we can waste even more of your money
“Racist” = Someone who dares question our policy of wiping out any sense of British identity as we become a minor region of the EU superstate
“Referendum on EU membership” = In your dreams, you stupid plebs
“A mansion” (as in Mansion Tax) = a small house anywhere in the South East
“Care home” = Institution where the elderly get neglected and mistreated while the owners become multimillionaires
“Tax the rich” = Fleece anyone who can be bothered to get up in the morning and go to work
“The very rich” = We never use that expression because the only people, who are very rich, are bankers, bureaucrats and politicians
“Any banker breaking the law will be prosecuted” = We will never prosecute any bankers as they are generous contributors to our party and when we lose our seats we all want well-paid jobs working for a bank or two
“Cuts” = Increased spending “Savage cuts” = Slightly slower increases in spending
“Pensions” = Large amounts of money given to politicians and bureaucrats when they retire at 60. A pathetic pittance given to plebs when they retire at 70
“Pension funds” = Legalised theft “Unit Trusts” = Legalised theft “Annuities” = Legalised theft
“Border control” = No control of who comes into Britain and absolutely no control if they ever leave
(GREED UNLIMITED = A book I wrote but which nobody buys, as people would much rather spend their money voting on things like Simon Cowell’s supposed “talent” shows than a serious book which concerns their future)
