Tuesday-Wednesday blog
Wouldn’t it be wonderful if President Trump sued the putrid, left-wing propaganda machine BBC into the ground. Sadly that won’t happen as the time for making a defamation claim has passed. And anyway, the BBC will no doubt issue some kind of bureaucratise semi-apology, which isn’t really and apology at all. Meanwhile the BBC-adoring ruling elites will ram down our throats time and time again that the BBC is not ‘institutionally biased’. Moreover, we’ll have (IMHO) BBC gravy-train riders like Nick ‘Red Robbo’ Robinson claiming that when the BBC is caught with its corporate pants well down around its ankles, this is all part of a right-wing plot to bring down the BBC.
There are plenty of over-paid, over-pensioned talking heads appearing in the media giving their well-remunerated opinions about how wonderful ‘our’ BBC is. So, instead of just adding to the cacophony of garbage being spouted, I’d like to give a bit of context about the BBC’s long long history of lying to us. There are at least 3 books by former BBC insiders, exposing the cultural rot and deep-rooted bias which pervades the whole of ‘our’ BBC.

Amazon tells us: To some, it is the voice of the nation, yet to others it has never been clearer that the BBC is in the grip of an ideology that prevents it reporting fairly on the world. Many have been scandalised by its pessimism on Brexit and its one-sided presentation of the Trump presidency, whilst simultaneously amused by its outrage over ‘fake news’. This punchy polemic galvanises the debate over how our licence-fee money is spent, and asks whether the BBC is a fair arbiter of the news, or whether it is a conduit for pervasive and institutional liberal left-wing bias.

Amazon tells us: The people of Britain are under attack. We are being brainwashed. We are being brainwashed completely, ceaselessly and cynically… So just who is doing the brainwashing? How are they doing it and for what purposes? David Sedgwick’s latest book takes the reader on a disturbing journey deep into the realms of mistruth and deception to reveal, for the very first time, the many tricks and subterfuges used by the British Broadcasting Corporation. Every time we engage with BBC content, the author argues, we are exposing ourselves to a very dark art: the art of brainwashing. Wilful, deceitful and incessant, Orwellian parallels define the modern corporation and should chill the soul of all who cherish freedom and liberty. Mind control is here. This is not fiction. BBC: Brainwashing Britain? is a shocking expose of mass propaganda, its components, and aims. You may never look at Auntie in the same way ever again.

Amazon tells us: What exactly is the purpose of the BBC nowadays—to entertain, educate and inform? But is that all? The broadcaster itself claims to be a fearless and independent provider of news tasked with “speaking truth to power”—a true champion of the underdog.
However, as David Sedgwick reveals in his new book, the reality is somewhat different: not only does the BBC diligently protect power from scrutiny, it attacks and attempts to discredit those who dare to challenge the status quo. Using multiple examples of BBC reporting, the author argues that the tax-payer funded broadcaster is a proxy which acts on behalf of a tiny but very powerful clique—a role which compels it to pump out disinformation on an industrial scale, misleading all those who consume its content
So, in answer to the question: Is the BBC institutionally biased? I think the above 3 books give you the answer.
And so, despite all its bleatings about being a credible news source with its laughably dishonest ‘BBC Verify’, the BBC will continue to pump out its nonsense:
- Britain is racist
- The EU is wonderful
- The British empire never brought civilisation to the world’s worst hell-holes
- All the most important scientific advances originally came from sub-Saharan Africa
- Immigration is good for us
- Diversity is our strength
- We’ll all die by 2020 due to ‘global boiling’
- Greta is a modern-day saint
- Israel is evil, Hamas are freedom-loving pacifists
- Any form of learning – maths, physics, chemistry, musical notation etc etc is racist
- The Religion of Peace is a really really peaceful religion
- Men in frocks with penises and a pair of testicles are women
- The Chinese lab-leaked plague didn’t leak from a filthy Chinese lab
- Keir Starmer is a titan of international politics and deserves the Nobel Peace Prize
- Conservatives are bad, Labour are good
- Nigel Farage and Reform are a threat to democracy
- Most of the illegal migrants arriving in small boats are women and children
- and many many more
And just to end, here’s a cartoon I came across:
