Friday – weekend blog
I don’t know if anyone reads books anymore. I know I read many fewer than I used to as there is already so much current affairs information on the Internet on sites like The Daily Sceptic, Not a lot of people know that and like History Debunked and Heretics on YouTube.
When choosing books which seem to describe the collapse of the West, and especially Britain, most people probably think of George Orwell’s “1984” and “ANIMAL FARM”.
I’d like to propose two books which I feel give a glimpse into our future.
First is “BECAUSE THEY HATE” by Brigitte Gabriel.

Amazon tells us:
A New York Times bestseller, “Because They Hate” is a political wake-up call told through a very personal memoir frame. Brigitte Gabriel lost her childhood to militant Islam. In 1975, she was ten years old and living in Southern Lebanon when militant Muslims from throughout the Middle East poured into her country and declared jihad against the Lebanese Christians. “Because They Hate” warns that the U.S. is threatened by fundamentalist Islamic theology in the same way Lebanon was – radical Islam will stop at nothing short of domination of all non-Muslim countries. Gabriel saw this mission start in Lebanon, and she refuses to stand by silently while it happens in America. Gabriel sees in the West a lack of understanding and a blatant ignorance of the ways and thinking of the Middle East. She also points out mistakes the West has made in consistently underestimating the single-mindedness with which fundamentalist Islam has pursued its goals over the past thirty years.Fiercely articulate and passionately committed, “Because They Hate” tells Gabriel’s personal story as well as outlines the history, social movements, and religious divisions that have led to this critical historical conflict.
The second book is “FUGUE FOR A DARKENING ISLAND” by Christopher Priest

Amazon tells us:
As Europe looks for ways to deal with the humanitarian crisis of Syria’s misplaced population and the influx of refugees crossing the Mediterranean Christopher Priest’s second novel has a new, timely, edge.
Survivors of a terrible African war flee their blighted continent, and look for refuge in the countries of the West. But Britain is falling into civil war and anarchy.
One of Christopher Priest’s earliest novels, FUGUE FOR A DARKENING ISLAND is a powerful work whose subject matter has become increasingly relevant in recent years.
I rest my case.
