The economic situation may be looking pretty grim at the moment. But just wait till after the next election. As events in Spain have shown, voters soon get tired of governments that impose cuts and austerity. In Britain we can expect the Coalition to lose the next election and Labour to regain power. Then Gordon Brown’s acolyte Ed Balls will become chancellor. Balls will no doubt apply his master’s cure to every problem – borrow more money and give it to incompetent overpaid bureaucrats to waste. We may be living through a horror story at the moment – with Balls back in power in will turn into absolute terror.
Meanwhile in South Africa the corrupt ANC government has introduced a new law to prevent the press reporting on politicians’ corruption. It won’t be long before South Africa goes the same way as Zimbabwe.
