Democracy is now dead in the EUSSR

When the Irish voted against the Lisbon Treaty a few years agothe EU bulliedthem to vote again till they gave the right answer. Now the Irish have voted for a new government that wants to renegotiate the terms of the bailout, it’s worth quoting the ominous words of an unelectedtop EU official, “It is not even take it or leave it. It’s done. Ireland’s only role in this now is to implement the programme agreed with the EU, IMF and European Central Bank. Irish voters are not a party in this process, whatever they have been told.”

In Britain, as theincompetent and politically-motivated European Court of Human Rights makes a mockery of our laws and exposes the impotence of our government, we’re beginning to realise how much power has been ceded to the unelected, wasteful, corrupt ruling elite in Brussels. But I think the EU official’s words sum up our situation and Ireland’s – it doesn’t matter how we vote any more, the EU has the power to over-ride any democratic decisions countries now make.Mikhail Gorbachev warned us, “the most puzzling development in politicsduring the last decadeis the apparent determination of Western European leaders to recreate the Soviet Union in Western Europe”. How right he was, But our lying, spinelessscum leaders are afraid to tell us the truth of how they have handed over our country to a few unelected, self-serving, greedy and incompetent eurocrats who now make over 80% of our laws.
