The politicians and media seem to be hell-bent on frightening us with terrifying claims about imminent disaster from Xi Pingpong’s Chinese flu. The politicians do this to browbeat us into obeying every stupid and ineffectual restriction they and their supposed ‘scientists’ dream up. The media do this to grab our attention and increase their audience and advertising revenues and advance the lousy careers and salaries of arrogant and ignorant self-serving supposed ‘journalists’.
To do this they love to make shock/horror claims like – “Covid-19 infections double every 5 to 7 days” and “hospitalisations have shot up by 72%”and “The UK’s coronavirus death count has shot up as cases continue to rocket” and “1,000 students at one university test positive for Coronavirus” so on and so forth.
But our rulers and their self-serving mainstream media never put their Coronavirus figures into context.
For example, today around 1,500 people will die in England and Wales. That’s just one day’s deaths of the 542,000 who die every year. Only about 70 of these deaths – about 4.7% – will have anything to do with the Chinese plague. Thus 95.3% of deaths will be from other causes. When you look at things that way, Xi Pingpong’s Chinese plague doesn’t look quite so terrifying as our rulers and media like to claim.
How about cancer? This year probably close to 150,000 people in England and Wales will die from cancer – that’s around 410 a day. That’s almost 6 times as many as will die from the Kung Flu.
Or there’s Dementia/Alzheimers – about 70,000 deaths this year or over 190 a day – almost 3 times as many as will die from the Wu-Flu:

Moreover, although our superiors in politics and the media scream about the supposedly ‘horrifying’ increase in infections, around 80% of those tested positive were asymptomatic. If they hadn’t been tested, they would never have known that they even had Xi’s Chinese plague.
We know who will be killed by Emperor Xi’s plague
The other part of context that our rulers and media often ‘forget’ to mention is that it is really a very limited group who are actually at risk from Emperor Xi Pingpong’s deliberately-spread virus.
If I remember correctly, the median age of those testing positive is about 32 years old. But around 90% of deaths are people over the age of 65, around 80% of deaths are in people over the age of 75 and 91% of deaths are those with serious comorbidities. Given that the average life expectancy in the UK is about 81 and that it will be much lower for those with serious comorbidities, the large majority of those departing this earth with Emperor Xi’s help really aren’t actually losing that many years of their active lives.
And, of course, only 20% of the 17,000 infected today (3,400) will even have any symptoms of Xi’s plague. The other 13,600 will only know they had the Chinese plague because they were tested.
Politicians always double down on their mistakes
All the above makes it abundantly clear that we should stop allowing ourselves to be cowed into trembling submission. Instead we should protect the elderly and vulnerable and let everyone else carry on with their lives with a bit of social distancing and a bit of hand-washing.
But the problem is that politicians (aided and abetted by our hyperventilating media) have decided that lockdowns are the only way to manage Xi’s Chinese plague. So they cannot admit that, now we know more about Xi’s plague, we can take a different approach. Our political and media rulers are afraid that a change of course in the light of better knowledge would suggest they got things wrong in the first place. So they have to double down on policies that are no longer relevant or effective in order to save face even if this risks Britain committing economic suicide.

You can’t expect Einsteinian insights from a 600- to 700-word blog (with pictures for the hard-of-understanding) written at 05.00 in the morning. But I think I’m beginning to understand how our rulers allowed our economy to be trashed by the Xi Pingpong’s Wuhan flu and what to do about it now.
That was then…..
If you go back to the start of the Chinese plague, you’ll remember the images of thousands dying in hospital corridors and makeshift wards in Italy and Spain as their health services were overwhelmed by a tsunami of Chinese flu sufferers:

Our politicians clearly couldn’t allow this situation to happen in the UK. So, as our (possibly scientifically-challenged) media started howling about the need for more hospital beds and more ventilators, our politicians were panicked into splashing £500m+ on ventilators (that were never necessary) and billions more on the new Nightingale hospitals (that were never needed):
However, despite our panicking politicians doing everything the screaming media mob demanded, the UK’s Chinese plague deaths (62 per 100,000 of population) ended up being just slightly lower than Spain (67 per 100,000) and higher than those of countries like Italy (59 per 100,000) and France (48.5 per 100,000):
Clearly the measures taken by our panicked politicians to appease the mouth-frothing media mob were as much use as the proverbial chocolate teapot. If I remember correctly, two of the most vociferous members of the slavering (but ludicrously ill-informed?) media mob were a certain Robert Peston from ITV and Beth Somebody from Sky News.
This is now…..
Since then we have learnt a lot. Though I also suspect the howling media mob have learnt nothing.
For example, we now know that over half of Kong Flu patients put on ventilators die. So, thousands of hastily-produced ventilators weren’t such a great idea after all. We are also beginning to understand which medications can reduce the severity of infections and thus dramatically reduce death rates. And perhaps most importantly, we now know which age groups (the elderly) and which groups of people (the obese and those with comorbidities) will be worst affected.
As schools and universities are opened and as we move into the winter flu season, it is to be expected that the number of Chinese flu infections will shoot up:
But, as these infections are mainly among the young, death rates have remained extremely low:
In fact, I suspect that death rates from Xi Pingpong’s Wuhan lab plague aren’t much higher than the usual seasonal respiratory disease death rates.
When the facts change…….
That brings us to Mr Keynes’s much quoted and misquoted:
The facts about Xi’s Chinese plague have now changed. We now know who will die from Xi’s plague:
We also know ventilators are virtually a death sentence and so fewer people are being put on them:
And we now know that the way forward is medication – preferably used as early as possible during infection as was done with Donald Trump:
Are we now ready for ‘herd immunity’?
So, while we knew little to nothing about Xi’s plague at the start, lockdowns were an understandable reaction by scientifically-challenged politicians terrified by the scenes of chaos in Spanish and Italian hospitals and by projections of half a million UK deaths by the world-famous bonking boffin from Imperial College.
But with our new level of knowledge, it is total madness to be closing down the economy again. Instead we should be opening it up as fast as possible to save jobs and livelihoods while protecting the vulnerable and allowing herd immunity to develop among those who will have few if any harmful consequences from Xi’s plague.
Here’s the inimitable Tony Heller. I think he’s too harsh on politicians when he criticises their original decisions to go for lockdowns. I explain why above – the sight of the chaos and huge numbers of deaths in overwhelmed hospitals in Italy and Spain. But I believe he’s absolutely right to claim that now we should be going for herd immunity rather than cowering in our homes in fear of something that (for 99% of us) won’t be any worse than a seasonal flu:
But I also think our politicians are trapped by their own need to prove they are infallible. If they now dared to tell us that the policy should be changed from lockdown to herd immunity (remember Mr Keynes talking about when facts change?), they’re terrified that they will be lambasted getting it wrong with their original lockdown strategy. And so they continue on the road to economic self-destruction.
I used to enjoy reading the readers’ comments on the Times website. Most journalists are generalists and so their articles tend to be fairly superficial. But some Times readers were experts in their subjects and so could often add information or insights that went beyond what the journalists knew. Moreover, having researched and written books on the EU, UK government incompetence and waste, charities, Third-World corruption and universities, I sometimes commented as well when I felt I had information that neither journalists nor readers might know.
However, as regular readers will know, I have now been permanently banned from commenting on the Times website. Apparently my views on subjects like the EU, Brexit, charities, Third-World corruption and suchlike are against the Times’s guidelines. Though I suspect I know rather more about such subjects that the Times’s woke, europhiliac, West-loathing, Trump-hating moderators with their useless university degrees in Gender studies or Post-Colonial Guilt Studies or whatever.
But nowadays there seem to be very few Times readers’ comments that are actually informative. Since the Brexit vote, Trump’s election and then Johnson’s election, most comments made by Times readers are based on astonishing levels of ignorance and seem to be full of hate, anger and foam-flecked fury.
Why do they hate Trump so much?
With democratically-elected President Trump having caught the Chinese Covid-19 plague, Times readers’ comments appear to have plunged to a new low point. So, I’d like to deal with just a few of the main points that ignorant, hate-filled, deranged Times readers are screaming about:
Times readers’ hatred – “I hope Trump dies!”
In the thousands of comments about Trump and the virus, I would estimate that around 5% come from readers hoping that Trump dies. One reader wrote “I wish him dead” and another “The world would be a better place without people like Trump”. It truly is extraordinary that supposedly educated Times readers have sunk to such depths of malevolence that they hope the democratically-elected president of Britain’s closest ally dies. It’s even more extraordinary that Times moderators allow such comments.
I know that if any slightly conservative person had written that they hoped Jeremy Corbyn or Joe Biden would die, they would be lambasted across the media and certainly have their career destroyed. But the Times moderators (and editors?) seem to consider that hoping Trump dies is quite acceptable.
Times readers’ ignorance – “Trump is responsible for 200,000 American deaths”
Many Times readers have written that Trump deserves to suffer from Covid-19 as he is responsible for over 200,000 American deaths. As one reader wrote “My sympathies are with the tens of thousands he let die“. As far as I understand, this shows a stunning level of ignorance about US healthcare. Congress and the Senate can pass bills about the type of healthcare in the US such as the Affordable Care Act. But the US is a federal system in which state governors and city mayors are responsible for all actions taken to deal with pandemics like the Coronavirus. These have absolutely nothing to do with the President.
For example, governor Gretchen Whitmer in Michigan has just lost a court case against the lockdown measures she has imposed in her state. And in New York, it is governor Andrew Cuomo (son of former governor Mario Cuomo!) who is responsible for that state having a Chinese plague death rate that is around three times the USA average.
Why don’t Times readers ever check their facts before spewing their pig-ignorant bile? It’s not difficult to open a new tab while commenting in order to Google who is responsible in the US for imposing, or choosing to not impose, lockdown measures. Though clearly this is too complicated for thousands of Times readers.
Times readers’ political bias – “Trump acted too late”
Once people realised how contagious and dangerous the Wuhan flu was, the Democrats and, of course, Democrat-supporting, Trump loathing Times readers have lambasted Trump for doing too little too late. These people seem to have very short memories indeed. They seem to have forgotten that when Trump originally imposed a travel ban on China, Democrats and Times readers howled and screamed that Trump was a “racist“. Democrat-adoring Times readers have also forgotten Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s visit to San Francisco’s Chinatown to encourage people to get out and about and support Chinese businesses:
I wonder how many people caught the Xi Pingpong plague after Pelosi’s press stunt?
Other Democrats such as Biden and Squad stalwart Alexandra Ocasio Cortez accused Trump of trying to create a “fake crisis”. But Trump still took action to try to control the Chinese plague in spite of foam-flecked, mouth-frothing Democrat opposition.
Times readers’ arrogance about their own ‘superior intelligence’
A constant theme in Times readers’ comments is that Trump is stupid. Here’s one of the more polite comments “The only thing in abundance regarding the Trump White House is stupidity. In extremis”. I agree that Trump’s personal style is more than grating and that his need to say something even when he has nothing to say is more than unfortunate. But he is not stupid. He has made and lost and then made a fortune. Yes, he was helped by his father. But many sons of rich men have been given and have wasted fortunes.
He also almost went bankrupt. I believe this was after he invested vast amounts of money in building hotels and casinos in Atlantic City at a time when Los Vegas was the only other place in the USA where gambling was legal. But a few years later, the US changed the law and allowed development of casinos on Indian reservations to help create jobs and this pretty much wrecked Trump’s Atlantic City venture.
But Trump’s achievements are almost incredible. The first time he ever ran for office he was elected US president. Clinton’s unsuccessful campaign ($768 million in spending) outspent Trump’s successful one ($398 million) by nearly 2 to 1. But ingénu Trump managed to understand the American people in a way that Clinton, who had spent her life in politics, utterly failed.
Donald Trump is not stupid. Or at least, certainly not as stupid as most of the cowardly, frustrated, keyboard warriors, usually hiding their real identities behind ridiculous names, who vent their ignorant, hate-filled spleen on the Times website.
Times readers’ conspiracy theories – “It’s fake news'”
And then there are the Times readers conspiracy lunatics. They’re the ones who for over three years have screeched about “Russian collusion” and Trump being “Putin’s puppet”. Fresh from that hoax, they’re now accusing Trump of faking his Coronavirus test results to get sympathy and avoid having to debate with the great Joe Biden. Several thousand Times readers made this claim. Here’s just one of those: “This was a politically motivated false positive test result. Got the attention back on Donnie and a few sympathy votes though, to say nothing of weaselling out of the next debates”. And here’s some more: “I bet he’s laughing like he did when the IRS gave him that fat fraudulent tax refund. Better with Biden”.
I guess I just don’t fit in with the Times readership
Looking at the deranged, hate-filled, fact-free madness of what is now probably the majority of Times readers, I can see why I’ve been banned from commenting:
Why not? Because it suggests that our climate changes in cycles alternating between warm and cold. And some lunatics (like myself) even believe that the cyclical nature of our climate might have something to do with the fact that most planets in our solar system are round and follow a cyclical path around the sun and that our climate is influenced by variations in that cyclical path:
The Warmies and Greenies and Extinction Rebellion idiots would have us believe that our climate has been fairly stable for thousands of years and is suddenly moving upwards in a linear fashion because of humans increasing the level of CO2 in the atmosphere from about 300 parts per million to a bit over 400 parts per million – the top line in the chart below:

Yet the Climate Emergency cult, supported by all the mainstream media, demands that we believe this tiny amount of CO2 in the atmosphere is going to cause a catastrophic change in our climate which will wipe out all mankind.
This is in spite of the fact that the level of CO2 has been much higher in the past (the black line on the picture below):
So, here’s a rather calm and sensible gentleman explaining how our climate changes in cycles, how we’re moving into a cooler period and how we’re stupid beyond belief for abandoning our key energy sources – coal, oil, gas – when we’ll start to need them most:
I have three charts today. But I don’t have any pictures. So, anyone who has received a supposed ‘university education’ in the last few years should probably stop reading now as they’re likely to struggle to understand what’s written below.

We’re constantly harangued and insulted by the politically correct and told that we’re all repulsive white supremacists and colonialisers and racists etc etc. The politically correct claim that it’s our fault that so many black children end up in gangs, criminality and prison. But looking at the chart above we see that 8.8% of Asian children live in single-parent households, 10.2% of white children do and a much more worrying 24.3% of black children are in single-parent households.
In the USA, more than half of black children grow up in single-parent households. It was none other than the great Saint Obama who said that black fathers needed to take responsibility for their children and warned “children who grow up without a father are five times more likely to live in poverty and commit crime; nine times more likely to drop out of schools and 20 times more likely to end up in prison. They are more likely to have behavioral problems, or run away from home or become teenage parents themselves. And the foundations of our community are weaker because of it.”
The figures for the UK prison population seem to support Saint Obama’s claims:
Blacks only make up 3% of the overall population but a much more impressive 12% of the UK prison population.
That’s not our racism. It’s a failure of Britain’s black communities. The only people responsible for this failure are black parents and black community leaders.
If BLM protestors want to improve the lives of Britain’s blacks, perhaps they could start by educating Britain’s blacks about the importance of bringing up children in two-parent households?
Perhaps the great David Lammy, ever keen to jump on the latest bandwagon, could take a break from blaming whites for everything and take up this issue with his own community?
After all, children of single-parent households are twice as likely to live in poverty than children in two-parent households:
And being brought up in poverty is hardly likely to help those children get a decent education and a proper job.

I’m not going to comment on the US presidential debate as it will take time to sift through all the lies and distortions from the Trump-loathing, Biden-adoring lying UK mainstream media.
“Snowfalls are now just a thing of the past”
Let’s imagine we’d just had a blistering hot September and all the snow in even the highest summer ski resorts in the Alps had melted. Can you imagine how this would have been jumped on by the supposed ‘scientists’ and Greenies and Extinction Rebellion activists and Saint Greta worshippers? Can you picture their faces distorted by spit-flecked rage as they howl that this is yet more proof that supposed ‘Man-made Global Warming’ was going to wipe out the human race? Can you imagine the self-satisfied screaming from the BBC and C4’s Jon Snow, Kathy Newman and the small fat guy with the long name?
And no doubt the screeching Warmies would be reminding us that just over 20 years ago – in March 2000 – we were warned by the Guardian and the Independent and the BBC and a few other equally reliable mainstream media that “snowfalls are now just a thing of the past”:
And one of the world’s leading climatologists – Dr David Viner, a senior research scientist at the (IMHO) totally discredited Climatic Research Unit (CRU) of the University of East Anglia – who grabbed the headlines 20 years ago when he claimed that within a few years winter snowfall will become “a very rare and exciting event” and that “Children just aren’t going to know what snow is” would be hailed as a prophet for foreseeing the end of snowfalls.
So here’s a story I haven’t seen mentioned in any of our mainstream media. On 27 September (3 days ago) specialist skiing websites reported ‘remarkable’ early snowfall in French mountain ranges: “Snow has fallen in the Alps and Pyrenees very early this year, with temperatures dropping significantly and “remarkable” amounts of snow forcing some roads to close”.

Yup, in spite of the fact that Dr Viner warned we would seldom see snow again, this year has seen the earliest snowfalls for over a century in the Alps, the Pyrenees, Colorado, New Mexico and loads of other places.

On Wednesday morning, snow was falling over parts of Colorado and 5 million people remained under winter weather alerts across portions of the Northern and Central Rockies:
There has been so much early snow this year that many ski resorts are now considering opening early.
Haven’t we been here before?
But this is not just a one off limited to one place on the planet. This September there have been record early snowfalls in Europe, the USA and Australia.
Nor is this year an exception that can be ascribed to Climate Change giving more extreme conditions. Just two years ago – in 2018 – the skiing season also started historically early due to large amounts of early season snow.
And once again, the UK media don’t mention this early snowfall in Europe, the USA and Australia as it doesn’t fit in with the official ‘Man-made Global Warming’ narrative which is the only narrative that the media allow. And you certainly won’t hear any UK media mention the ‘Grand Solar Minimum’ as we’re supposed to believe that our climate is more influenced by a trace gas that can only be measured in parts per million of the atmosphere rather than being influenced by solar activity.

As you’ll remember, the BLM marches took place just before the summer at the height of the Xi Pingpong Wuhan flu plague. Whether you agree with lockdown or not, you expect the police to apply the law impartially. I suspect many ordinary front-line police are horrified by the way the police service is being politicised to serve the interests of the supposedly ‘liberal’, EU-loving, Izlumophiliac, rapefugee-welcoming, West-loathing establishment elites. But with our police being run by (IMHO) politically-correct, progressive, careerist, diversity-obsessed, UK-hating, Common Purpose utter garbage like this:

Never in human history has there been so much whining, bleating and moaning by such total drips about so little.
I am, of course, referring to Britain’s woke, selfie-adoring, social-media-obsessed, snowflake students. As new cases of the Wuhan flu soar amongst student populations, a few thousand of the 700,000 or so students starting university this year have been asked to self-isolate in their comfortable halls of residence for a mere 14 days. From reports on the useless BBC and UK-hating C4 News, students apparently see this request to isolate for a couple of weeks as a total life-destroying disaster which will cause horrific mental health problems from which many may never recover even with intensive support and counselling.
Previous generations of young people have been sent to fight wars and many have died or been horribly wounded. But they showed stoicism and self-sacrifice. Today’s spineless drips can’t even face a couple of weeks confined to their halls of residence:
Many have said they’re already bored out of their little minds. I guess I’m old-fashioned but don’t they have some books to read? Don’t they have loads of academic articles available on the Internet to study? Isn’t this an opportunity for them to get ahead with their learning? Or did they expect university to be like school where there’s no need to learn anything as long as you spout the politically-correct nonsense about supposed Climate Change and supposed Institutional Racism and supposed White Privilege that your supposed ‘teachers’ have brainwashed you with?
Though perhaps when you’re doing worthless courses like Gender Studies, Media Studies and something as ‘academically challenging’ as Golf Course Management, there really isn’t that much to learn?
Others have put “F**K Boris” signs in their windows as if it was one of their human rights to go out and infect people with real jobs who have to work to support their families, as if it was one of their human rights to spread Xi Pingpong’s plague causing more lockdowns, more businesses to close, more people to be ruined.
Trump kicks China’s *ss at the United Nations
Apparently there has just been some huge UN conference. I believe it was done online and many of the speeches were pre-recorded.
We didn’t hear much about this on the UK mainstream media. The only mention I heard was from the BBC that the useless Johnson has pledged the UK to do more greeny rubbish to destroy our economy and UK jobs to meet the Paris Agreement targets that every other country ignores.
So, once again we have to turn to Sky News Australia to give us some of the best bits that our media would never mention.

Given the amount of time it has taken our rulers to release any details of the Croydon police murderer, I think we can safely assume that the person has a multi-culturally enriching background. Though curiously we were quickly told the suspect was “autistic”. I guess our rulers are preparing us for the usual “mental health problems” and “nothing to do with Izlum” excuses.
Once again, just like the policeman stabbed to death at the Houses of Parliament, we see a truly valuable human being sacrificed on the altar of ‘diversity’ and ‘multi-culturalism’. I wonder if Lewis Hamilton and his woke chums will be taking the knee to show solidarity with the murdered policeman at their next car race?

You may not agree with all of them. But what is astounding is that he did all this while being constantly insulted and belittled and pilloried by all the world’s mainstream media and while being harrassed by the Democrats’ and media’s made-up Russia collusion impeachment scam.

Not so jolly hockey sticks?
The most famous ‘hockey stick’ graph in history is probably Michael Mann’s chart of global temperatures for the last thousand or so years supposedly ‘proving’ that the Earth was now entering a period of unprecedented warming:
In case there are any educationally-challenged Greta-worshippers reading this, here’s why it was called a “hockey stick graph”:
For the last 20+ years, much of the hysteria about global warming — later re-labeled “climate change” then “climate emergency” then “extinction of mankind” — was based on this so-called “hockey stick” graph produced by Michael Mann. The graph was used by the IPCC, the media and governments to push global warming hysteria to the point of mass mental illness, where supposed ‘experts’ repeatedly claimed for the last 25 years that we only had 10 years or 8 years or whatever remaining before a climate apocalypse would somehow melt all the Arctic ice, flood most of the world’s major cities, kill tens of millions and destroy the planet.
If I remember correctly, a few courageous scientists questioned the mass hysteria and accuracy of Mr Mann’s wondrous hockey stick and they asked him to provide details of the data and algorithm used to produce the chart. If I remember correctly, Mr Mann repeatedly refused.
But other scientists started producing their own temperature graphs. Here’s one going back 2,000 years:
And these graphs seemingly contradicted Mr Mann’s famous hockey stick by suggesting that climate warming similar to that claimed by Mr Mann had occurred several times in the past.
One scientist, Tim Ball (if I remember correctly) even suggested that Mr Mann’s graph was a fraud because it ‘disappeared’ a major period of warming about 1,000 years ago:
There was even a lengthy court case which (I believe) Mr Mann lost in 2019 and was ordered to pay his opponent’s costs.
Of course, the demolishing of Mann’s infamous hockey stick graph did nothing to diminish the fanaticism of the Man-Made Global Warming loonies. If anything, it drove them to even more extreme predictions of impending climate disaster. Numerous climate conferences with 20,00 or more delegates flying in from all over the world were held to discuss the supposed problem and two of Britain’s most famous climatologists – Prince Charles ‘the adulterer’ Windsor and Prince Harry of Hollywood – bravely took private jets to several of these conferences to warn us plebs to travel less.
Witless Whitty and his hockey stick
But the Mann hockey stick farce did at least achieve one thing – it taught scientists, supposed ‘scientists’ and other ‘experts’ of their ilk that if you want to terrify the public witless, a hockey stick chart is a wonderful way to do it. Hence we had Monday’s performance by Britain’s Laurel and Hardy – a socially-distanced Professor Chris Whitty and Sir Patrick Valance;
And they too, produced an impressive hockey-stick chart of their own postulating that UK Wuhan flu infections could soon reach over 49,000 a day :
Aaaarrrgghhhh! We’ re all going to die.
There are, however a few questions to be asked about the Whitty/Valance projections.
For example, one might wonder why their projections are so far in excess of anything that is happening in France or Spain:

Moreover, the data was presented in such a way as to suggest that the UK could soon be back to the infection levels seen at the height of Xi Pingpong’s Chinese plague in March and April:
But, in using charts like this to frighten us into obedient submission, the ‘experts’ seem to ‘forget’ that in March and April, the only people being tested were those going to hospital. Now many more people – NHS workers, care-home workers, anyone with a slight headache or cold and umpteen other groups of people are trooping up to have their tests.
For example, a member of my family who works in a care home is being tested once to twice a week. There will be a similar testing regime in most of the UK’s 21,000+ care homes. So, we actually have no idea what infection levels were in March and April as people who just had mild symptoms wouldn’t have been tested:
Actual infection levels in March and April may well have been five or ten or even twenty times (100,000 cases a day at the peak?) those shown on the two charts above. If so, then we are nowhere near the March/April up to 100,000 cases a day infection levels nor are we ever likely to be. That’s something our rulers don’t mention.
Thus it’s scientifically illiterate, or even fraudulent, to compare the number of Chinese plague cases in March and April, when there was minimal testing, to the number being identified now we’re moving into mass testing.
Moreover, as I’ve previously tried to explain – if 200,000 tests are conducted in one day and there are 4,000 positives, then with a ‘false positives’ rate of just 1%, 1,960 (almost half) of the supposed ‘positives’ will actually be ‘false positives’. If the ‘false positives’ rate is 1.5% then 2,940 (around 75%) of the supposed ‘positives’ will be ‘false positives’.
Stay safe – use the doggy position?
I suppose infections are rising. Though this hasn’t yet resulted in (and may not ever result in) rising death rates:
After all, the death rates closely follow infection rates in March and April. But we don’t see the same linkage with the August/September rise in infections.
I suspect the ‘experts’ are deliberately using the most extreme interpretations of the figures and the most dramatic graphs to browbeat us all into sheep-like obedience.
As for me, I’m going to follow the Government’s advice (see below). I’m sure my latest wife will understand I’m only doing this as part of my societal duty to protect her from Chairman for Life Xi Pingpong’s Chinese plague:
