Just before I write my blog, I thought I might not be the only person who is getting utterly fed up with people going to the world’s most violent, dangerous hell-holes and then bleating that they’ve been ‘abandoned by the British government’ when they inevitably get into trouble. Every single media report about the current situation in Sudan claims that around 4,000 British citizens have been ‘abandoned by the British government’. Sorry, but if you want to visit another country, it’s sort of inadvisable to choose Sudan or Eritrea or North Korea or Afghanistan or Iran or other similar earthly paradises.
Moreover, I suspect that several of these ‘abandoned’ 4,000 supposed Brits are actually former asylum seekers (illegal migrants) from Sudan who were given British citizenship because they claimed their lives would be at risk if they were sent back to Sudan. And then, when they had their dual nationality, they tend to take their holidays visiting their families back in the country they previously claimed was too dangerous for them.
As for that (IMHO) awful Iranian woman and her (IMHO) equally ghastly husband – I imagine legal issues would prevent me from commenting on her (IMHO) self-inflicted disaster for which she and her husband seem to me to have repeatedly blamed the British government.
But, of course, nobody takes responsibility for their own stupidity nowadays.
Sie sind verrückt, völlig verrückt
A couple of weeks ago, Germany closed its last nuclear power station. The decision to accelerate shutting down Germany’s nuclear industry was taken by the delectable Angela Merkel in May 2011 after the March 2011 Fukushima tsunami disaster. Eight of Germany’s seventeen nuclear power stations were closed that year. It seems that Ms Merkel didn’t have an atlas to hand when she made this brilliant decision. If she had, she might have noticed that:
Japan has 29,751 kilometres of coastline, whereas Germany has only 2,389 kilometres
Almost all Japan’s nuclear power stations are on the coast, most of Germany’s are inland
Japan is situated on the Pacific ‘Ring of Fire’ were earthquakes and tsunamis are common, Germany probably hasn’t had an earthquake or tsunami for the last 20 million years if ever
Of course, at the time, Merkel’s predecessor as Chancellor, Gerhard Schröder, was on the board of Russian energy giant Gazprom which would supposedly ensure a continued supply of cheap gas from Russia to Germany. I attach at the end of this blog a link to the brief section of a speech President Trump gave at the UN when he warned that Germany was becoming too dependent on Russian gas. How the German delegation giggled and smirked at Trump’s ‘stupidity’.
Das war eine teure Entscheidung
The German Ministry for Economics estimated that the cost of replacing the lost nuclear power would be about €55 billion. But then the operators sued the German government for the revenue they would lose from early closure of their power stations and got about €2.5 billion in compensation generously handed over by German taxpayers.
At the time Merkel claimed: “As the first big industrialised nation, we can achieve such a transformation toward efficient and renewable energies , with all the opportunities that brings for exports, developing new technologies and jobs”.
The main result of closing down Germany’s cheap and reliable nuclear power stations and trying to replace them with useless, unreliable expensive wind and solar power has left Germany with some of the highest electricity prices in the world even before Mr Putin invaded Ukraine:
And every year the taxes and levies heaped on Germany’s power prices increases to pay for the Energiewende – defined by Wikipedia as ‘the ongoing transition by Germany to a low carbon, environmentally sound, reliable, and affordable energy supply’:
From what I understand, the red and yellow bits on the chart below represent the real cost of generating and supplying power in Germany. All the other stuff are special taxes and subsidies and so on to pay for the move from reliable and cheap energy to unreliable and expensive energy:
The head of Germany’s largest power company warned that relying on solar in Germany was like trying to grow pineapples in Alaska.
And now Germany is desperately trying to reopen old coal-fired power stations, even going as far as dismantling a windfarm to make way for the expansion of a massive open-cast coal mine:
Perhaps there’s a lesson here for Britain as our clueless rulers push us in the same disastrous direction as Germany?
How they laughed at Trump
And here’s that excellent moment when the German delegation at the UN smirked and giggled when Trump warned them that they had become too reliant on Russia for their energy. I wonder if they’re still laughing?
Apparently there was some kind of public consultation (in 2020 or 2021, I think) about ending the sale of petrol, diesel and hybrid cars in Britain. And apparently the consultation miraculously concluded that we were all enthusiastic about this great planet-saving idea.
I give a link at the end of this blog to the full government report from the consultation about how much we all support this tremendously important and popular initiative. I haven’t bothered reading it as I can imagine the lies and total nonsense contained therein. However, I include below the ‘Ministerial foreword’ signed by those two scientific geniuses – Grant Shapps and Khazi Kwarteng.
I find this ‘Ministerial foreword’ illuminating as it reveals either the complete self-delusion or else the cynical dishonesty of just a few thousand people in politics, the media and academia – probably less than 0.05% of the population – who rule us and who are hell-bent on wrecking Britain’s economy, impoverishing the country and ruining the lives of over 67 million people supposedly to fight a demon which doesn’t even exist.
But as American journalist, essayist, satirist and cultural critic, H. L. Mencken warned us:
The only conclusion you can reach is that our ruling 0.05% are evil or insane or both.
A cynic might think that throughout human history superstition (dressed up as ‘religion’) has been used to keep the masses in their place while the richest 0.05% looted and extorted their societies’ wealth. But now, as religion has fallen out of fashion in the West, we have a new superstition – a new cult – the cult/superstition of end-of-times climate crisis which the elites are using to control us, impoverish us and maintain their power over us.
Anyway, here’s an insight into the thinking or the dishonesty of the liars, fools and knaves who seek to regulate every aspect of our lives.
The whole piece is ludicrous. But I have highlighted in red the bits I find the most asinine:
Ministerial foreword
In 2019, the UK made history by becoming the first major global economy to pass legislation to end our contribution to climate change. Delivering ‘net zero’ emissions will require drastic action across all sectors of the economy.
In 2018, cars and vans accounted for nearly a fifth of the UK’s total emissions. Tackling these emissions is critical if we are to successfully achieve our climate change goals.
That is why the Prime Minister, as part of his ‘Ten point plan for a green industrial revolution’, has announced we will end the sale of new petrol and diesel cars and vans by 2030, with all new cars and vans being fully zero emission from 2035.

This transition will be matched by the transformation of our energy sector. We recently published the energy white paper, which represents a decisive shift away from fossil fuels towards cleaner energy sources.
Moving millions of vehicles to zero emissions is an enormous challenge. Government has already committed £1.5 billion to boost the early market, but now we are going further. We are backing our new phase out dates with over £2.8 billion of investment to drive up the number of zero emission vehicles, accelerate the roll out of our world-class chargepoint infrastructure network, and to secure investment in gigafactories and other strategic technologies to develop the UK’s electric vehicle supply chain.
The global momentum towards zero emission vehicles is unstoppable.The UK is on course to be the fastest G7 nation to decarbonise cars and vans, and we want to see other countries following our lead. Through our leadership of COP26 in Glasgow this year, we will bring about the international collaboration needed to deliver a climate-resilient, zero carbon economy.
The coronavirus pandemic is impacting all aspects of our lives and economy, but it has not changed the fact that climate change is among the greatest challenges of our age. We must act, and act now, to ensure that the temporary reduction in harmful emissions we saw from road transport last year is not short lived. We owe it to future generations to build back better, build back greener and secure a sustainable recovery.
We will work in partnership with our world-leading industries to achieve the most fundamental change to transport in over 100 years. We have made strong progress; we must now accelerate to secure a cleaner, greener and more prosperous United Kingdom.

I imagine it’s obvious to my readers, but not to any of our useless politicians that, if you get the wrong information, then you’ll most likely make the wrong decisions. This is why lying climate catastrophists use a wide variety of tricks to fool us into believing their nonsense about supposed climate change.
I’ll illustrate this with three examples from my book THERE IS NO CLIMATE CRISIS
Trick 1: Hiding inconvenient data
Here’s a chart of acreage burnt in US forest fires since the end of the 1970s:
And here’s a 2016 article from the New York Times panicking about the increasing severity of US forest fires. The article tells us that the 10.1 million acres burnt in 2015 ‘were the most on record’:
Looking at this information, you could be forgiven for being seriously worried about the problems climate change will cause.
But here’s another chart of US forest fires, this time starting at 1916:
And here’s an article from the New York Times from 1938 reporting that 21,980,500 acres were burnt – rather more than 2015’s supposed record of 10.1 million acres:
Given this information, you’d realise that the scorching 1920s and 1930s were much hotter than anything we’re experiencing this century. So there was absolutely no problem from supposed climate change. What the climate catastrophists have done is to hide the data which blows their whole crazed cult out of the water:
Trick 2: Propaganda instead of facts
If you were to believe the propaganda spewed out by the climate catastrophists, you’d think that many of our coastal cities and farmland would soon be inundated by rising sea levels:
But if you looked at the facts you’d see that sea levels have actually almost plateaued after large rises since the last glaciation:
Sea levels have only risen by around 1 cm over the last 120 years and there has been no discernible increase in the rate of sea-level rise:
Then you’d realise that the doom-and-disaster claims of the climate catastrophists:
Are a load of nonsense and that there is absolutely no need to spend billions supposedly protecting the world’s coasts from sea-level rise.
Trick 3: Using GIGO models
That brings us to the climate models on which our rulers are basing their decisions to commit economic suicide in the rush to ‘Net Zero’. One study of over 100 climate models showed they all had an almost Fergusonian level of uselessness.
The climate is probably warming by about 1ºC every century (the blue, green and red lines on the chart above) as we move out of the last ice age. But the models all predict levels of warming (the black line on the chart above) which are twice as fast as the actual level of warming measured by ground stations and satellites. And the reason all the models are consistently wrong is that they are all based on the mistaken assumption that rising atmospheric CO2 will inevitably lead to rising temperatures – a perfect illustration of GIGO (Garbage In, Garbage Out) or to use a more technical expression – BIBO (Bollox In, Bollox Out).
Lying climate catastrophist liars will cause a real catastrophe
I give many more examples in my book of the tricks climate catastrophists use – misrepresenting the data, fiddling the figures and even outright lies – to hustle our politicians into cravenly implementing policies which will cause a real catastrophe – the deindustrialisation, enfeeblement and impoverishment of the West handing control of the world to the Chinese and their chums in such delightful countries such as Russia, Iran, North Korea, Brazil and Pakistan.

If you watch the news, you’ll have seen some (IMHO) dreadful woman – head of the Royal College of Nursing (RCN), I think – who sounds to a fool like me to be a bit like a female version of the Reverend Ian Paisley – ranting and howling about how 13 years of Tory government have wrecked our beloved NHS. And it was, I believe she was claiming, all the fault of the dreadful NHS-hating Tory government that doctors and nurses and ambulance staff and Uncle Joe Cobley and everyone else employed by the NHS has seen their salaries decimated by inflation.
I agree that 13 years of useless Tories in government have been a disaster for Britain. But being a really boring person, I decided to just check whether the ‘awful’ and ‘evil’ Tories really have cut the NHS’s budget resulting in below-inflation pay rises for NHS staff. This is, of course, something our so-called ‘journalists’ never seem to do.
In fact, the NHS has received above-inflation budget increases for every one of the 13 years the Tories have been in government:
What is more than disappointing is that, whenever a whining doctor or nurse or paramedic or other NHS striker is interviewed, the mainstream media interviewer never challenges them asking how is it possible that their wages have fallen below inflation when the NHS as a whole has received above-inflation budget increases every single year.
I won’t dare comment on Laura Kuenssberg’s attempt at an interview with the RCN’s head honcho last Sunday as, if I were to use words like ignorant, grovelling, lefty, Labour-loving, Tory-loathing, biased and so on, I might expose myself to legal action for daring to have an opinion about the BBC’s supposed ‘impartiality’.
Where have our many billions gone?
That then poses the question – if the NHS has received above-inflation budget increases every year and the NHS’s major cost – staff salaries – have been below inflation for the last 13 years, where have the many extra billions we’ve poured into the seemingly insatiable maws of the NHS gone?
Here’s how the NHS uses and abuses our £150 billion according to an article from the Daily Mail:
I would disagree with at least one of the figures here. For example, the article suggests that the cost of 800 Diversity, Inclusion and Equality (DIE) managers is £40m a year meaning each one costs us about £50,000 a year. But that’s just their salary cost. When you take into account their office costs, staff costs, pension costs and the huge number of hours of frontline staff’s time they waste educating them to avoid using blatantly discriminatory and offensive words like ‘male’ and ‘female’ and ‘man’ and ‘woman’ and suchlike, I’d put the real cost of the worthless DIE brigade at well over £100m. And this week our supposedly ‘in crisis’ NHS is advertising over 20 new DIE jobs. So that’s another few million the NHS will be squandering of these utterly pointless wastes of skin.
As for NHS salaries, they really don’t look that shabby to me:
In spite of the claims of hardship and poverty and suchlike made by union leaders and striking NHS staff, getting between £36,000 and £37,000 for a nurse or paramedic doesn’t look to me like the kind of destitution that would force a person to rely on food banks.
But if NHS unions really want more money for their members, they should stop claiming that ‘the government needs to put more cash on the table’ and start looking at how our mostly incompetent 37,000+ NHS managers have blown the above-inflation budget increases they have been given each year.
Oh, and by the way, here’s the (IMHO) ‘invisible woman’ – the NHS’s boss who (it seems to an uninformed idiot like myself) to have been cowering below the parapet or even gone AWOL during all these strikes when she should have been taking a leading role in solving the pay disputes:
As for the NHS and NHS unions – don’t fall for their howling and screaming and pleading about destitution. The NHS is drowning in our money. What remains a mystery is where have all our billions gone?
In spite of having worked in almost 100 organisations in 15 countries and in spite of having written more than 10 published books, I admit I don’t understand. I don’t understand why our rulers and so many self-styled ‘activists’ are so intent on impoverishing us making our lives more miserable, shorter and much less enjoyable.
Western society has provided the largest percentage of their people with the best quality of life ever seen throughout human history. Yet rather than recognising this and celebrating this, part of our societies are trying to destroy this. I think it has something to do with the fact that many of our rulers and supposed ‘progressives’ and ‘liberals’ and ‘activists’ view us with undisguised contempt and see us as what Neil Oliver calls ‘useless eaters’.
What I do understand
But there is something I think I do understand. It seems like every day we have some woke, howling, vein-throbbing, mouth-frothing self-styled ‘activist’ screaming at us about their latest cause:
Last weekend, around 118 of these ‘activists’ were arrested for trying to disrupt the Grand National. Today some (IMHO) crazy individual was quoted in the Times saying she was ‘thrilled’ that the Brecon Beacons management has decided to change the park’s name to something Welsh and unpronounceable in the battle against climate change. Quite how changing a national park’s name will help the fight against climate change was not immediately obvious to me.
But whatever the cause, however ridiculous, you’ll always find a herd of these woke ‘activists’ having what look like emotional breakdowns as they scream and rant and harangue us about their particular (usually utterly trivial) crusade:
I sometimes wonder if anyone does any real work anymore or if a huge part of the population spend much of their lives on ‘activism’.
Wanting to understand what drives these self-styled woke ‘activists’, I Googled the word ‘narcissist’ and found these 9 traits of a ‘narcissistic personality disorder’ (NPD):
Sense of self-importance
Preoccupation with power, beauty, or success
Entitled
Can only be around people who are important or special
Interpersonally exploitative for their own gain
Arrogant
Lack empathy
Must be admired
Envious of others or believe that others are envious of them
Another description of narcissism I came across was:
The word narcissism gets tossed around a lot in our selfie-obsessed, celebrity-driven culture, often to describe someone who seems excessively vain or full of themselves. But in psychological terms, narcissism doesn’t mean self-love—at least not of a genuine sort. It’s more accurate to say that people with narcissistic personality disorder (NPD) are in love with an idealized, grandiose image of themselves. And they’re in love with this inflated self-image precisely because it allows them to avoid deep feelings of insecurity. But propping up their delusions of grandeur takes a lot of work—and that’s where the dysfunctional attitudes and behaviours come in.
Narcissistic personality disorder involves a pattern of self-centered, arrogant thinking and behaviour, a lack of empathy and consideration for other people, and an excessive need for admiration. Others often describe people with NPD as cocky, manipulative, selfish, patronizing, and demanding. This way of thinking and behaving surfaces in every area of the narcissist’s life: from work and friendships to family and love relationships.
I guess that the point of today’s blog is to suggest that activism and wokeism are most usually just narcissism – needy and emotionally unstable people desperately looking for a cause (any cause) to fuel their own exaggerated sense of moral and intellectual superiority. So every time you see an ‘activist’ don’t bother listening to what they’re saying as their supposed ’cause’ is probably just a convenient vehicle for their own self-righteousness and self-aggrandizement.
Next time you see an ‘activist’, look for the narcissist.
We’re constantly being hectored about how we must give billions and trillions to help the world’s poor. And we now have a new twist on this story – because developed countries emit the most CO2, we apparently now need to pay so-called ‘climate reparations’ to the world’s poorest countries to help them cope with the effects of the totally imaginary Climate Crisis or Climate Emergency or Climate Apocalypse or whatever it’s called this month.
There are two lists I find interesting. The first is the World Bank’s list of countries according to their GDP per capita:
If you compare these two lists, you’ll find that the more corrupt a country is, the poorer it is.
There is a vicious cycle of corruption leading to violence, instability and poverty leading to more corruption and so on until a country becomes yet another failed state. And, of course, our rulers tell us that we are to blame and must therefore give more and more and more and more money to the world’s most corrupt hell-holes just for our money to end up in the bulging offshore bank accounts of the world’s most corrupt billionaire kleptocrats.

Part 1: Donkeys seem to be lucrative for some people
If you watch daytime TV, you’ve probably seen loads of ads asking for your money to save mistreated donkeys. Typically the ad will be in three parts:
we’ll be shown a donkey suffering awful mistreatment
we’ll then get a scene in which a vet gives treatment to an ill donkey
there will be a scene of a few donkeys happily running around a green field
You might get the impression that the charity asking for your cash is fairly small employing a few dedicated staff who care about donkeys’ welfare. So let me give you a few figures which might surprise you.
The Donkey Sanctuary
This seems to be the main donkey charity. The charity’s aims are:
TO PROVIDE RESCUE HOMES AND TREATMENT FOR DONKEYS, MULES AND OTHER SUCH ANIMALS, AND TO PREVENT CRUELTY TO SUCH ANIMALS THROUGH PROMOTING HUMANE BEHAVIOUR TOWARDS THEM. ENHANCING PEOPLE’S LIVES THROUGH WORKING WITH DONKEYS AND MULES AND BRINGING ENJOYMENT INTO THE LIVES OF CHILDREN AND ADULTS WITH ADDITIONAL NEEDS.
The word ‘sanctuary’ might make it look like this is a modest affair caring for a few mistreated donkeys and mules and suchlike. Actually, the Donkey Sanctuary raked in £63,368,000 in the financial year ending December 2021. That’s a lot of money. So clearly there are a lot of very lucky donkeys in the world. And the Donkey Sanctuary could afford to pay one employee, presumably its head honcho, between £150,000 and £160,000 (charities are not required to give the actual salary, just a range). Nice work if you can get it.
The Brooke Hospital for Animals
If you decided to help horses and donkeys and mules but didn’t want to give to the massive £63,368,000 Donkey Sanctuary, you could always donate to the Brooke Hospital for Animals. Their description on the Charity Commission’s website is:
Since it was founded in 1934, the Brooke has helped to relieve the suffering of millions of working horses, donkeys and mules and improved the livelihoods of the countless people who depend upon them. The Brooke provides veterinary services in some of the world’s poorest communities, treating animals and training animal-owners in countries including Egypt, Ethiopia, India, Kenya and Pakistan.
In the last full financial year, The Brooke Hospital for Animals managed to raise £21,695,210 and its highest-paid employee pocketed between £120,000 and £130,000. I’ll leave you to judge whether that amount is well-deserved or perhaps a little generous.
SPANA (Society for Protection of Animals Abroad)
Another worthy recipient of your money might be SPANA. They describe themselves as follows:
To prevent unnecessary suffering to animals and neglect of their bodily needs by all lawful means and, in particular, by: 1. Providing treatment in hospitals and otherwise for sick and injured animals 2. Encouraging and promoting education in the humane treatment of animals any relevant environmental issues 3. Assisting in the enforcement of such laws as may from time to time be applicable.
But when you look at their website, all the photos are of donkeys or mules although I believe they also deal with working animals like camels and elephants. They pulled in £9,222,804 last year and paid their highest-paid employee between £100,000 and £110,000
£94 million a year for donkeys and mules
So, it seems that we Brits donated just over £94,000,000 last year to just three charities mainly to help donkeys, horses and mules around the world. And we’ve probably been donating a similar amount for years. Plus there are plenty of smaller charities doing the same things as these three. So, over the last 10 to 12 years, we in Britain have probably given more than £1bn. I imagine there are similar charities in the USA, Germany and other countries. With the more than £1bn we’ve handed over to these charities over the last decade or so, it’s difficult to imagine that there can still be any donkeys or mules which aren’t living lives of luxury at our expense.

Don’t let South Korea be crippled by China’s secret weapon

Most people have realised that China with its 1.4 billion population intends to become the world’s leading power. And many observers have commented on the ways China is using to usurp American dominance. Some of these techniques are detailed in a book Unrestricted Warfare by two Chinese military strategists Qiao Liang and Wang Xiangsui. The book explores strategies that a militarily and politically disadvantaged nation like China might take in order to successfully attack and defeat a geopolitical super-power like the United States without actually going to war.
Of course, China is building a massive military. But it is also trying to overtake the West, and particularly America, in many other ways. For years China has been stealing and copying technology developed by Western companies. Chinese companies have spent over $11 billion buying shares in 25 port projects in 18 countries on all continents as part of China’s Belt and Road initiative. Also as part of its Belt and Road policy, the Chinese government and Chinese companies have pushed several Third-world countries into a new form of debt colonialism. These countries have been encouraged to take massive loans from China at extortionate rates of interest and, when they have defaulted on their interest payments, they’ve had to cede control of assets like ports, airports and agricultural land to China.
Furthermore, China has managed to gain influence by placing its people in positions of power in international bodies like the World Health Organisation. We saw this with the outbreak of Covid-19. At the same time as China realised the disease was infectious and banned internal travel within China to stop the spread of the virus, China pressured the World Health Organisation to claim the virus wasn’t infectious and to keep international travel open. This was catastrophic for Europe and America. At first, the virus spread to Italy as a large number of Chinese workers regularly travel to Italy to work in the many Italian companies which have been bought by Chinese businesses. And from Italy, the virus quickly spread to the rest of Europe and then America. Moreover, if a new virus had emerged within a few kilometres of the US biological research facility at Fort Detrick, the world would have ridiculed any US claims that the appearance of the new virus just beside a biological research institute was a coincidence. And countries around the world would be queuing up demanding trillions of dollars in compensation from the US for damage caused by the virus. But in a chilling example of China’s power, only one country – Australia – dared question the origins of Covid-19 and it was quickly punished when the Chinese Communist Party banned the import of Australian coal.
But most commentators and experts have missed what may be China’s most powerful weapon against the power of America and the West. This weapon is the imaginary Climate Crisis which is causing Western leaders to implement economically-suicidal policies to fight supposed man-made climate change.
For example, since 1990 America has implemented ‘green’ policies which have enabled the country to reduce its CO2 emissions by almost 30 percent from around 21 tonnes per capita to about 15 tonnes per capita. At the same time, America’s share of world GDP has fallen from 32 percent to just below 20 percent. The European Union has cut its CO2 emissions from by over 30 percent from 9.2 tonnes per capita to 6.3 tonnes per capita. Over the same period the European Union’s share of world GDP has almost halved from 28 percent to just under 15 percent. We see a similar picture in Britain which has managed to reduce the country’s CO2 emissions by an astonishing 50 percent from over 10 tonnes per capita to just 5 tonnes per capita since 1990. During the same 30 years, Britain’s share of world GDP has fallen from over 4 percent to just 3.2 percent.
Politicians in these countries like to boast about how their policies are reducing their countries’ CO2 emissions as they fight the imaginary demon of man-made Climate Change. But all these countries have done is to replace cheap, reliable fossil-fuel energy from coal, oil and gas with expensive, intermittent and unreliable supposedly renewable energy from wind and solar. This has resulted in energy costs in America being three times as expensive as energy costs in countries like India and China and energy in Europe being four times as expensive as in India and China. So, many companies, especially those in energy-intensive industries like steel-making, aluminium and glass, have closed their plants in countries where energy is expensive and moved production and jobs to cheap-energy countries like China and India. At the same time as Western countries have been cutting their CO2 emissions by deindustrialising and thus losing share of world GDP, China has increased its CO2 emissions from just 2 tonnes per capita to over 8 tonnes per capita and its share of world GDP from around 2 percent to almost 18 percent. Over the same period, India has tripled its CO2 emissions from 0.7 tonnes per capita to over 2 tonnes per capita and almost tripled its share of world GDP from about 1.1 percent to 3.3 percent.
Over the 30 years since 1990, South Korea has more than doubled its CO2 emissions from 5.7 tonnes per capita to 12 tonnes per capita and almost tripled its share of global GDP from about 1.2 percent to 3.2 percent. But if South Korean leaders fall for the delusion that human activities are causing the climate to change and if they start implementing supposedly ‘green’ policies to cut the country’s CO2 emissions in a futile attempt to stop the natural process of the Earth’s climate changing, then the example of what has happened in America, the European Union and Britain shows us what will inevitably happen in South Korea. Replacing cheap, reliable fossil fuels with expensive and unreliable energy from wind and solar leads to much higher energy prices, deindustrialisation and economic decline as companies and jobs move to countries where energy costs are lower.

First just a small warning. I’ve got a digital subscription to the Daily Telegraph (DT) which allows me to read it on-line. I’ve just had an email from the DT informing me that my digital subscription is about to be renewed for another year for a mere £189. So I checked what I paid last year – it was only £49. I know there’s a bit of inflation. But an increase from £49 to £189!!!!! So I rang the DT to cancel my subscription and was immediately told the DT would be happy to renew my digital subscription for £49. Amazing what a quick phone call can can achieve. Note that the bunch of idiots running the grandly-titled North Tees and Hartlepool NHS Foundation Trust claim “to provide safe and high quality care to our patients every day; the kind of care we would want for ourselves and our loved ones” and yet they squander our money and probably hundreds or even thousands of hours of front-line staff’s time on this woke utter nonsense.
And if doctors and nurses and ambulance drivers want a pay rise, why don’t they demand that the NHS immediately fires every single one of these worthless DIE leeches? That would free up tens of millions which could be used to improve salaries of those who do real work or even (and I know this is a crazy idea) to improve patient care.

In fact there only is one story that you can write about – the state of the world.
To simplify slightly, this story – the state of the world – has four main elements and every media report or newspaper article or blogger is either dealing with (bloggers and sites like the Daily Sceptic and Conservative Woman) or avoiding (the mainstream media) these four issues. Here’s what I believe they are:
The collapse of the West
This includes the West’s self-hatred over its own success; its self-flagellation over supposed institutional racism and the supposed evils of colonialism; the destructive identity wars; the ludicrous arguments about whether women can have penises; the end-of-times cult of man-made climate change; the bastardisation of our culture making programmes like Love Island and programmes in which z-list celebs eat insects the most important issues in many people’s lives; the self-prostitution of the media to the self-serving political and business elites; the globalisation of power to corrupt, unelected bureaucrats; the decline of Western manufacturing and the collapse of democracy in the world’s former great power – the USA – as the Democrats use every lie and trick they can think of to destroy Trump;
All these have made the West into a declining civilisation and even a laughing stock which is losing power and influence in the world and is actually bankrupt as its populations expect a standard of living and an abundance of free stuff they have no intention of working to earn.
The rise and rise and rise of China
As the West declines, China rises. The population of China is over 1.4 billion. The USA is around 330 million and Europe 746 million. So China has a vast internal market which means Chinese manufacturers can out-compete every American and European company. Moreover, the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) runs the country’s economy and chooses when to target and bankrupt Western industries so they are forced to produce their products in China. China’s share of world GDP is rising:
And the USA’s share of world GDP is falling
The EU’s share of world GDP is also declining:
China controls over 75% of the rare earth metals needed for all our electric and electronic devices. And China, through its debt colonialism, is buying up land, ports, airfields and influence throughout the Third World with its Belt and Road policy.
Just one example of China’s power is the origin of the Chinese lab-leaked plague. Had a new, highly-infectious disease emerged just a few miles from Porton Down, the UK would have been ridiculed if it had suggested that the proximity to Porton Down was a coincidence and countries around the world would be demanding reparations for the damage the disease had caused them. But when the disease emerged a few miles from the Wuhan Institute of Virology, the world’s leaders are strangely silent. Their countries are all so dependent on China they dare not antagonise the Chinese.
And as the West becomes a collapsing object of ridicule around the world, ever more countries are throwing their lot in with China rather than the world’s former great power – the USA. And this week even Saudi Arabia – once the USA’s ally – has decided that China is the future.
The African population explosion
The third element of this ‘state of the world’ story is the massive increase in population in Africa while the population of Europe declines:

Most African countries double their population ever 21-22 years. For example, there are over 200 million Nigerians. By 2050 there will be more than 400 million. Where will all these people go to get money, healthcare, education, homes etc? Millions will head to Europe so that soon Europeans will be minorities in their major cities. White British, for example, are already a minority in London and soon will be in several other UK cities.
The rise of corrupt kleptocracies
As the West loses influence and Western values are increasingly derided and shunned by developing and Third-world countries and as ever more countries decide that China is the future, the idea of democracy will wither. Then more and more countries will become corrupt kleptocracies ruled by voracious, often tribal elites and unable to develop because everything of value will be looted by the ruling cliques. Like the African population explosion, this immiseration of the populations of the world’s 100+ utterly corrupt, basket-case countries will lead to massive emigration and millions more heading for the West.
What to write about?
So, in answer to the reader’s comment, I believe there is only one story and every blog I and others write can only deal with different aspects of this one story.
