Tabloid newspaper are forever printing articles in which they choose four or five personality types and ask readers to choose which type they are.
So I thought I would adapt an article I found floating somewhere around the Internet. It classes us into five groups in terms of where we stand in the face of our rulers imposing restrictions on our lives in reponse to the latest supposed crisis – pandemic, climate or whatever.
1) The rulers: A tiny group of the political, bureaucratic, tech, business and media elite who are consciously acting in their own privileged self-interest while fully aware of the huge damage their actions are causing to ordinary people. The rulers despise ordinary people as ‘useless eaters’ and a burden on the planet who should be controlled and impoverished in order to allow the rulers to accumulate ever more wealth and power. These ruthless few are benefitting hugely from the ongoing globalist pandemic and climate fascism and will not deviate from their mission to further their own narrow self interests.
2) The mercenaries: A considerable number of scientists and administrators are embedded within the migration, pandemic and climate industries. Their livelihoods and professional statuses are contingent upon perpetuating the ‘global emergencies’ that supposedly require drastic actions to resolve. This group of amoral prostitutes will be extremely reluctant to admit that they have backed the wrong horse. As the American writer Upton Sinclair once said, ‘It is difficult to get a man to understand something when his salary depends upon his not understanding’.
3) The self-justifying compliers: It takes considerable courage to admit to having been duped. Hence, to avoid painful cognitive dissonance, the many people who openly argued in support of the dominant Covid narrative and enthusiastically support the climate-catastrophist narrative will continue to rationalise why they championed the Covid restrictions on our lifestyles. They will also comply with future similar diktats about climate or whatever other impending disaster the rulers enthusiastically supported by the mercenaries invent – despite the accumulating evidence that lockdowns, masks, and the shutting down of society were both ineffective and harmful. It is extremely difficult for these self-justifiers to switch sides and express dissent.
4) The ambivalent, but silent: Arguably the largest group, these hassle-avoiders may have harboured longstanding unease about the appropriateness of the Covid/climate authoritarianism but have – to date – remained quiet, perhaps in the hope that what we have endured over recent years will pass and we will soon return to normality. This group’s motto seems to be: ‘keep your head down and you shouldn’t get into trouble’.
5) The longstanding sceptics: This tiny group are a vocal (and pilloried) minority who have, since early 2020, openly opposed the dominant narratives about the ‘benefits’ of open-borders migration, the dangers of the Chinese lab-leaked plague and the supposed global boiling climate crisis and look on with amazement at how just a few Western countries are being deliberately impoverished by their rulers while the majority of the world’s ~200 countries profit from the West’s economic suicide
The first two groups – ‘the rulers’ and the ‘mercenaries’ – are, effectively, beyond reach and will continue to push the ‘imminent disaster’ scenarios because this furthers their own accumulation of wealth and power. To halt the march of migration, pandemic and climate fascism, the sceptics must encourage many more from groups 3 and 4 to join us in a collective demonstration of dissent and non-compliance. Though whether this is possible in the face of the flood of new restrictions from the rulers and the barrage of misinformation from the rulers and the media elites is questionable.

I have just found Richard Tice’s whole 3-hour programme on YouTube. The Sunday Sermon is from around 5 minutes in to about 20 minutes in. Personally, I have given up watching GB News as each week it becomes ever more like the BBC. I guess GB News got burned by Ofcom over Mark Steyn and are now terrified to dare questioning the Covid or climate crisis narratives. However, Talk TV’s Julia Hartley-Brewer, Mike Graham, Kevin O’Sullivan and Richard Tice have all repeatedly stated that the whole climate crisis is a load of nonsense. So they get my support.
Anyway, here’s the whole Richard Tice programme with the Sunday Sermon from minute 5 to minute 20:
The big news this week was that waiting lists for NHS treatments have risen to 7,680,000. But I wonder if the true figure is even higher. I saw my GP – sorry, I lie, I saw a nurse at my GP’s surgery as all the GPs were presumably too busy to see a British taxpayer like me – at the beginning of June and got an ‘Urgent’ referral to see a dermatologist at my local hospital. Now, three months later, I haven’t even been contacted by the hospital with a date for an appointment. So, I imagine I’m not even considered to be one of the 7,680,000 people waiting for treatment.
Maybe there are a lot of other people in a similar situation? Who knows?
Do people hate my book without even reading it?
There are 377 reviews of my latest book THERE IS NO CLIMATE CRISIS on Amazon. Most are positive. However, I’ve found 4 or 5 reviews which give my book the lowest – one star – rating and say it’s a load of misleading garbage or worse.

Oh dear, oh dear, oh dear! Utter garbage. Ask people who are watching their homes being destroyed by wildfires in the USA and Europe, Pacific islanders who are seeing the sea levels gradually submerging their home, and many others distastrously affected by events caused specifically by the what the author of this trash denies is real. Ask them what they think of this book. Open your eyes and don’t give this charlatan one single penny of your hard earned cash. Use it to buy a book by a real scientist.
There are two things all the one-star reviews (the lowest rating a reviewer can give) have in common:
none of them are what Amazon calls a “Verified purchase”
none of them make any reference to anything actually written in the book.
Of course, those one-star reviewers might have borrowed my book from someone who has bought it. Or, more likely, they might just be climate catastrophists who have a visceral loathing for anyone daring to question their crazed, end-of-days cult. Personally, I review books which I have read. I suspect all those writing one-star reviews have neither bought nor read my book.

Dangerous Misinformation The cover of this book depicts a ‘doomsdayer’ and his sandwich board full of failed doomsday dates. But guess what? Climate scientists have never stood on street corners claiming the end is nigh – this is typically the behaviour of Christian evangelists in North America. And the rapture cometh not. Interesting how such an image has been wildly misappropriated to sell the entirely false idea that climate change isn’t happening, or that the scientists studying these changes are ‘doomsdayers.’
Anthropogenic climate change is available for all to see and its existence and progress has been verified by the world’s leading scientists and research bodies. It’s also verifiable by anyone with eyes. Amazon’s willingness to sell amateurish tomes packed with conjecture and misinformation is something of a stark contrast with Jeff Bezos’ insistence that the company cares about the climate.
In short: this is a tome of misinformation, authored by an individual with no accreditation or qualification to comment. Save your time.
In the above case, the reviewer makes reference to the cover of the book, but not to a single word actually written in the book. Again I suspect the reviewer hasn’t actually read it.
Is Uranus hotting up?
I based much of my book on Tony Heller’s realclimatescience.com website. But there’s another climate-focused website – notrickszone.com which also dares cast doubt on ‘the Earth is boiling’ climate-catastrophist narrative.
In a recent article on notrickszone, a writer suggested that warming was not just confined to the Earth, but is also happening on some other planets.
Here’s part of this article:
Because man is burning fossil fuels, our planet is allegedly becoming increasingly covered by a blanket of “heat-trapping” greenhouse gases, scientists like to make people believe. The recent global warming simply couldn’t have anything to do with the sun, they insist.
They’re likely way off the mark.
Today German prof. Stefan Homburg tweeted a summary of warming that’s happening at other places within our solar system, suggesting the sun is behind it.
“Global warming isn’t only happening on earth,” he tweets.
Triton has warmed 3°K
For example, warming is happening on Triton, Neptune’s moon. According to Germany’s wissenschaft.de: “Neptune’s giant moon Triton is the first body in the solar system where global warming could be detected.”
According to measurements, the atmospheric pressure doubled and the temperature rose 3 degrees Kelvin. “The cause is probably higher solar irradiation of the nitrogen ice cap at Triton’s south pole.”
The article then goes on to suggest that Mars, the Moon, Pluto, Saturn and Jupiter are also warming and concludes this warming may be due to increased solar activity and not human CO2 emissions or earthly methane cow farts.

Obviously I don’t know if the claims made in the notrickszone article are true or not. But, if they are true, there’s one certainty in life – they will definitely not be mentioned by the mainstream media.

But I thought it might be amusing here to use a version of the article which I have very slightly repurposed for a South Korean newspaper as this more clearly exposes the madness that Britain’s power-crazed tinpot-dictator politicians are imposing on us unfortunate citizens:
A warning to South Korea from Britain

The British Government’s plans to force Britain to achieve ‘Net Zero’ CO2 emissions by 2050 seem to be falling apart. Few people seem interested in buying expensive, range-limited electric cars. Even fewer want to replace their cheap efficient gas central-heating boilers with expensive and poor-performing electric heat pumps. Offshore windfarms were a key part of the British government’s ‘Net Zero’ decarbonisation plans, yet there were no companies bidding for the recent group of offshore windfarm contracts as the government wouldn’t let windfarm operators charge as much as they wanted for their electricity. And the British Government seems unable to make a decision about which technology to choose for Britain’s new generation of SMRs (small modular nuclear reactors) even though British engineering company, Rolls Royce, has already developed SMRs which can work in the hostile underwater operating environment of nuclear-powered submarines and so could be quickly and inexpensively adapted for use on dry land.
However, having realised that it cannot provide sufficient renewable electricity to power Britain as a modern industrial economy, the British government has come up with a brilliant solution – force British citizens to use much less electricity.
The British parliament is currently passing a new Energy Bill. The British Palace of Westminster and the clock tower Big Ben are synonymous with democracy and have become a symbol of elected parliaments around the world. So, it might surprise some South Korean readers to learn the kind of totalitarian powers which the new Energy Bill with give the British authorities.
I won’t quote any sections from the 446-page Energy Bill as these are written in almost incomprehensible legal language. Instead, I thought it might be useful to describe three common scenarios which will arise once the Energy Bill has become law.
Scenario 1: Replacement of existing electricity and gas meters
British electricity and gas meters have a registered lifetime of anywhere between 10 and 25 years depending on the type of meter. Once a meter’s lifetime has expired, there is a legal requirement to have it replaced. Under the terms of the Energy Bill, someone from your power supplier will have the right to enter your home to replace your current meter with a smart meter. Smart meters have three main functions – they allow you to see how much electricity you are using at any time; they enable your electricity supplier to view how much electricity you are using; and thirdly, and more worryingly, they give your electricity supplier the ability to cut your electricity supply should someone at the electricity supplier or a government official decide that you are using too much electricity or should the government be unable to supply enough electricity at peak use times.
If you refuse the smart meter installer entry to your home or try to refuse having a smart meter installed, the Energy Bill gives the person the legal power to return with police back-up, force entry into your home and use what is called “reasonable force” to restrain you while he or she rips out your old-fashioned meter and replaces it with a smart meter. “Reasonable force” might just mean the police handcuffing you during the smart meter installation or could even mean detaining you in a cell at the local police station while your meters are changed.
Scenario 2: Renting or selling a property
It seems likely that it will be illegal for anyone in Britain to rent out or sell any residential property unless it has an EPC (Energy Performance Certificate) rating of ‘C’ or above. It is compulsory for anyone wishing to sell a home in Britain to commission an energy surveyor to produce an EPC for that home rating how well that home uses energy.
Currently there are just over one million home sales a year in Britain. Of these home sales, around 41% have an EPC rating of ‘C’ or above – that means ‘A’, ‘B’ or ‘C’. So, under the terms of the Energy Bill, over 590,000 homes a year would have to have alterations made to improve their EPC rating before they could be rented out or sold. These alterations could range from just installing double glazing or adding a little loft or wall insulation to spending tens of thousands of pounds installing a heat pump which would include replacing all the pipes and radiators in a home and could even require ripping up carpets and floors to install underfloor heating.
Scenario 3: Energy Saving Opportunity Schemes (ESOS)
The new British Energy Bill introduces what are known as ‘Energy Saving Opportunity Schemes’ (ESOS).Here the word “opportunity” has a distinctly Orwellian flavour. The expression Orwellian comes from George Orwell’s famous dystopian novel ‘1984’ and indicates that the words mean the opposite of what they say. Key slogans used by the Big Brother dictatorship in Orwell’s ‘1984’ were ‘War is Peace’, ‘Freedom is Slavery’ and ‘Ignorance is Strength’.
With ever more homes having smart meters, energy suppliers and government officials will be able to identify towns, neighbourhoods, streets and even individual homes which government ‘experts’ consider to be using too much electricity. The Energy Bill’s horribly misnamed ESOS would give the legal right for energy inspectors to enter any home, using “reasonable force” if necessary, in order to make an energy-saving assessment and propose ways the homeowner could improve the property’s energy efficiency.
In all three of the above three scenarios, refusal by the homeowner to comply with the government’s requirements to save energy would be a criminal offence with penalties of fines of up to £15,000 and/or imprisonment of up to one year.
That a government would introduce such intrusive and oppressive eco-totalitarianism on its citizens is something that we might expect from an undemocratic, centrally-controlled country like China. However, few of us would have imagined that a supposedly democratic country like Britain would implement such extreme restrictions on its citizens’ freedom. What is happening in Britain should serve as a warning to South Koreans of what can occur when a government becomes obsessed with forcing a country to achieve ‘Net Zero’ CO2 emissions to fight a supposed ‘climate crisis’ which doesn’t even exist.

I thought it my civic duty to start this blog with a weather warning. The global-warmist organisations for stoking climate panic – also known as the Met Office and the BBC – have issued weather warnings that temperatures today might reach a supposedly ‘life-threatening for the elderly and vulnerable’ 31ºC:
Quite why this requires a weather warning and why this should be ‘life-threatening’ when this is the kind of temperatures people, including the elderly and vulnerable, pay a lot of money to go on holiday to experience is not clear. Apparently the BBC and the Met Office aren’t aware that many elderly people take Carribean and Mediterranean cruises and suchlike just to escape the dismal English weather
When is a ‘record’ not a ‘record’?
This morning, the BBC helpfully informed us that we’re having the warmest September “for the last 70 years”. But given that we have temperatures readings for Central England for 364 years (since 1659), why has the BBC chosen just the last 70 years in order to terrify us about the BBC’s beloved ‘Climate Crisis’?
I’ve managed to find a temperatures chart for September for Central England from 1659 to 2017:

From what I can see, the year 1951 (72 years ago) was a bit of a scorcher. So, it would seem that the BBC chose to start their latest version of Project Fear after the 1951 September heatwave. The year 1731 also seems to have been a bit of a scorcher.
I admit that looking at the chart there could seem to be a bit of warming in the last few years. But as I try to explain in my book THERE IS NO CLIMATE CRISIS and as the excellent The Daily Sceptic reveals today Wednesday 6 September), temperatures in the decades since say the 1950s have been corrupted by the Urban Heat Island effect:
You probably know that a massive 446-page Energy Bill is being rushed through Parliament by our fake ‘Conservative’ government. Here’s the full title of the Bill:
A Bill to make provision about energy production and security and the regulation of the energy market, including provision about the licensing of carbon dioxide transport and storage; about commercial arrangements for industrial carbon capture and storage and for hydrogen production; about new technology, including low-carbon heat schemes and hydrogen grid trials; about the Independent System Operator and Planner; about gas and electricity industry codes; about heat networks; about energy smart appliances and load control; about the energy performance of premises; about the resilience of the core fuel sector; about offshore energy production, including environmental protection, licensing and decommissioning; about the civil nuclear sector, including the Civil Nuclear Constabulary; and for connected purposes
Life is too short to read and to try to understand this massive vomit of abominable legalise nonsense. But here are some choice titbits that I think I understand.
The Bill explains what a ‘Smart Meter’ is:
“Energy smart appliance” means an appliance which is capable of adjusting the immediate or future flow of electricity into or out of itself or another appliance in response to a load control signal; and includes any software or other systems which enable or facilitate the adjustment to be made in response to the signal
So it seems that a key purpose of ‘Smart Meters’ is not only to measure power usage but also to allow energy providers to control how much energy we are allowed to consume using ‘a load control signal’.
Moreover, authorities will be allowed to use ‘reasonable force’ to enter any homes or premises to ensure we have the approved ‘Smart Meters’ installed:
Requiring persons to supply evidence of their compliance to enforcement authorities; conferring powers of entry, including by reasonable force;
The Bill gives the Government the power to force us to have energy assessments for any premises:
The Secretary of State may make regulations for any of these purposes: (a) enabling or requiring the energy usage or energy efficiency of premises to be assessed, certified and publicised;
We can be fined up to £15,000 or face one year in prison for failing to meet any future energy performance levels any government imposes:
Energy performance regulations may provide for the imposition of civil penalties by enforcement authorities in relation to cases falling within subsection (1)(b), (c) or (d); but the regulations may not provide for a civil penalty that exceeds £15,000.
Under the totally misleading title of ‘Energy Savings Opportunity Schemes’, authorities can force any person or company to make energy savings using the threat of criminalisation for failure to comply:
The Secretary of State may by regulations (“ESOS regulations”) make provision for the establishment and operation of one or more energy savings opportunity schemes. An “energy savings opportunity scheme” is a scheme under which obligations 30 are imposed on undertakings to which the scheme applies for one or more of the ESOS purposes.
I could go on. But I imagine you get the picture by now. This ‘Energy Bill’ gives any puffed-up public-sector mini-dictator powers to control us in a way even the Korean FatBoy or George Orwell could never have imagined possible. Moreover, there is only one certainty – our useless MPs will pass it with a massive majority. And if you think this abomination will lead to an oppressive eco-fascist police state under the fake Tories, imagine how this will be used and abused by Ed Miliband and the climate fanaticists in the next Labour government.

A few years ago, my wife and I went on a round-the-world trip for 3-4 months. This included a couple of months travelling around America by train. However, looking at what is happening in many American cities, I’m not sure I’d want to go back there again. In every city run by Democrats we seem to be seeing the same process – what I’ve called ‘the doom-loop of de-civilisation’. The Democrats implement progressive, inclusive policies; many crimes (such as shoplifting less than $1,000) are decriminalised; the police are defunded; offenders are not caught and not prosecuted; many firms leave inner-city areas which increasingly become homelessness-, drug- and crime-ridden no-go areas;
productive citizens give up and movc away; as the tax base shrinks and welfare dependency grows taxes have to be raised; more firms and employees leave; the people who remain are more likely to vote Democrat and so this reinforces Democrat control and the doom-loop of de-civilisation continues:

The rise and rise of the BRICS++++++
We’ve all seen the rise of the unpronounceable acronym in the West culminating in the increasingly ludicrous LGBTQ++++. An acronym which will become increasingly important is BRICS. BRICS is a grouping of the world economies of Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa formed by the 2010 addition of South Africa to the predecessor BRIC. In January 2024, BRICS — originally established in 2009 to represent the world’s strongest emerging market economies — will add Argentina, Egypt, Ethiopia, Iran, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) to its ranks. Though I doubt the acronym BRICSDAEEISU will be commonly used.
As BRICSDAEEISU grows this alliance will eventually rival the Group of Seven (G7) large industrial economies of the United States, European Union, United Kingdom, France, Japan, Italy, and Canada, which together are home to 16 percent of the world’s population and account for 62 percent of the global economy.
Welcoming the new members in Johannesburg last week, Brazil’s President Lula da Silva said their addition would mean BRICS would represent 46 percent of the global population and 37 percent of the world GDP. The expansion means BRICS now consists of some of the globe’s largest oil producers: Russia, Saudi Arabia, UAE, and Egypt. Nigeria, another major oil exporter, is set to join when the bloc gets even bigger, probably at its next summit in Russia in 2024. That will make any acronym even more complicated.
The expansion of BRICS will have at least three results:
De-dollarization: the strength of the U.S. dollar is also partially based on the currency as underpinning oil trade—the so-called petrodollar—and members of OPEC (Organisation of the Petroleum Exporting Countries) settle their accounts in U.S. dollars. Therefore, enlarging BRICS to also include the oil producers and persuading them to use a new BRICS currency, rather than the U.S. dollar, to settle their accounts, will be a game-changer.It is likely to accelerate the de-dollarization of the world
Emasculating sanctions: the economically-dominant West has in the past had the ability to punish countries by imposing economic sanctions. AS BRICS++++++ get more powerful, any sanctions imposed by the West will become less meaningful
Rejection of the West’s liberal democratic values: there is a lot of ill-feeling in developing countries against the West’s perceived misuse of its power – attacking Serbia, Iraq, Libya, Yemen, Afghanistan etc. Few of the BRICS++++ are democracies and most reject Western liberal democracy seeing it as a failing system which is tearing itself apart.
The West’s abandonment of democracy
Most Western governments have abandoned free market policies for redistributive welfarism – the state owns everything and you own nothing except what the state deigns to give you. Hence the idea of a Universal Basic Income. Western leaders have proved incapable of pivoting to a model anchored in freedom of conscience and human innovation. Instead they blather about the dangers of the disinformation age and “adjusting” to secular stagnation. All the while they have come to deeply fear a populace that is losing patience.
It is not unthinkable then, that with a little bit of persuasion from Big Tech, the West’s impotent, terrified, self-serving, exhausted and spiritually-corrupt elites could be persuaded that the only way for them to maintain control over us and prevent populist uprising against their economically- and socially-suicidal policies is to further hollow out any semblance of Democracy and drive our countries further towards becoming surveillance states where governments own everything, only approved opinions are allowed and dissenting voices are debanked, persecuted and destroyed.

As I have suggested in several previous blogs, I suspect that the relative freedom and democracy of the 1950s to 2010s, the years during which we have lived most of our lives, was an historical aberration – a brief period during which wealth was distributed more evenly between the ruling elites and ordinary people. That period seems to be ending as the elites consolidate ever more wealth and power under their control leaving us with ever less freedom and living ever more restricted, poorer lives:
Want to buy a cheap, efficient petrol car? Soon to be banned
Want to buy a cheap and efficient gas boiler? Soon to be banned
Want to take holidays? Soon to be discouraged using ever-increasing taxes on flights
Want to eat meat and dairy products? Soon to be increasingly expensive as farmers are restricted from producing food or even driven off their land as is happening in the Netherlands
Want to drive your car in a city? You’ll have to pay congestion charges and ULEZ charges or even face complete bans on car usage in many places
Want to express an opinion about mass illegal immigration or the biological differences between men and women or whether human activities are causing catastrophic climate change or the benefits of multi-culturalism or the peaceful nature of the world’s most peaceful religion? Expect the police to come knocking at your door
In fact, can you think of any way at all in which our elites are intent on making our lives better?
On a recent blog, one reader remarked that had the paediatric doctors at Lucy Letby’s hospital reported her for misgendering anyone, Letby would have been disciplined and probably fired faster than you could say ‘transphobe’. But murdering premature babies, that was seemingly not a serious offence for our woke hospital bosses. And so, as the politicians and media promise us (yet another) ‘independent inquiry’ which will (yet again) ‘leave no stone unturned’ and will (yet again) lead to ‘important lessons being learnt’ and will (yet again) ‘ensure this never happens again’, our beloved NHS (which is the envy or the world) rushes ahead with hiring ever more DIE (Diversity, Inclusion and Equality) managers. As waiting lists shoot up towards eight million, as health services collapse and as thousands live in pain or die early or unnecessarily due to a lack of care, our NHS bosses seem convinced that the only way to save our NHS is by hiring more utterly pointless, sociology-degreed DIE parasites.

Yet the person employed by Hemel Hempstead as Senior Diversity and Inclusion Partner will be pocketing between £70,000 and £75,000 a year. Heaven knows how much the “Director of People” is getting paid.
Ever-increasing empires?
I have written in previous blogs about the scandalous waste of hundreds of millions of pounds of our money the NHS is squandering on hiring these complete waste-of-skin DIE staff. But in previous blogs, I have only mentioned individual vacancies. Here I hope to expose that there are actually growing empires of these worthless parasites in all our hospitals.
Maybe it’s time to scrap the woke, useless, collapsing NHS and just start again?
Perhaps one of the most significant statements of 2023 made by one of our rulers came from the universally-respected United Nations Secretary-General, Antonio Guterres. In 2022 he warned us it was‘code red for humanity’ due to supposed anthropogenic global warming:

This summer we’ve been told that July was the hottest on record and we’ve been deluged with reports of ‘apocalyptic’ wildfires in the Mediterranean, the U.S., Hawaii and Canada. So, perhaps Mr Guterres and the climate catastrophists are right? Perhaps we are all destined to die in a planetary fireball caused by our selfish use of CO2-emitting fossil fuels?
However, being a person of a slightly cynical disposition, I googled “2023 record cold”. Here are just some of the results:
An astonishing -62.4°C was recorded in Tongulakh, Siberia on January 14th. In addition to becoming Earth’s coldest temperature recorded in 2023, the all-time station record was broken in Tongulakh
On Feb 4, 2023, the Halifax airport in Nova Scotia saw its coldest wind chills ever recorded, with temperature plummeted to -43°C (-45.4°F). This tops its previous record of -41°C that was set on 13 February 1967 for wind chill. Many other places across Canada also set new daily records, with temperatures lower than -40°C. On Feb 19, temperatures in Shepherd Bay, Nunavut dropped to -49.6°C (-57.3°F)
The United Kingdom on Tuesday, March 7, braved its coldest night of the year 2023 with the temperatures dropping to below -15 Celsius in several regions. According to Independent, a UK news portal, the British Met Office revealed that the temperature at Kinbrace in the Scottish Highlands was recorded at -15.2 celsius, making it the coldest March in the country since 2010
The summit of Mount Washington in New Hampshire reported a wind-chill low of minus 78 Celsius (minus 108 Fahrenheit) — the coldest temperature ever recorded in the United States. Meanwhile, the National Weather Service (NWS) in Caribou, Maine, said it received reports of “frostquakes.” “Just like earthquakes, [they] generate tremors, thundering sensations. Extreme cold has arrived abnormally early in Antarctica, with temperatures dropping to below -75°C from the beginning of May. A sudden and unexpected surge of cold Arctic air has engulfed several regions of South America, shattering numerous cold records in its wake. Although it is currently summer in the southern hemisphere, including parts of South America such as Argentina, Chile, Uruguay, and parts of Brazil, some areas have experienced a drastic and rapid shift in weather, going from a heat wave to frost in less than a week. On February 18, 2023, most of the cities in Paraguay experienced a sharp drop in temperature, breaking their previous records for minimum temperatures. The temperatures ranged between 7 and 16°C (44.6 – 60.8°F) across the country, with the lowest readings recorded in the southeast. The lowest temperature was 7.7 °C (45.9 °F), which is just 0.7 °C (1.2 °F) from the national record low for the month of February. The extreme cold weather caused at least 30 cities in Argentina to break their monthly cold records on the same day
I think that covers most of the Earth’s continents. In fact, I suspect that whichever weather phenomenon you chose – hot or cold, wet or dry – I imagine that if you googled that weather condition and the words ‘2023 record’, you’d find several places on our planet which had record levels in 2023.
I must be getting old and my memory must be failing. While I get the impression we have been bombarded with horror stories about wildfires and an overheating Earth, I can’t remember the BBC or C4 News or any other parts of the mainstream media spending as much time and effort reporting these record cold temperatures as they have spent hyperventilating over their many stories of supposed ‘record hot temperatures’ and ‘Earth on fire’ supposedly caused by man-made global warming.
Could our net-zero-obsessed rulers and their sycophantically-obedient mainstream media be trying to manipulate us into cravenly accepting our own supposedly ‘climate-saving’ impoverishment? Surely, not!
In my last blog, I featured a chart from Bjørn Lomborg, author of several books including THE SKEPTICAL ENVIRONMENTALIST, showing that despite decreasing areas of the planet being burnt by wildfires, the number of times wildfires were mentioned by the mainstream media was increasing. This rather suggests a media-fueled scare campaign which has nothing to do with the actual prevalence of wildfires:
I have just noticed that this chart has been supposedly ‘factchecked’ and found to be ‘misleading’:
Here’s part of the explanation given by the supposed ‘factcheckers’: ‘While true that the world as a whole is seeing fewer burned areas, this is not true for all regions. In places like the United States, the extent of wildfires is increasing. More and more forest is being lost, and as inhabited areas are expanding into the wild, risks of ignition and the harms connected with wildfires are increasing. Meanwhile, climate change is exerting upward pressure on fire globally by increasing the frequency and intensity of weather conditions fit for fires to happen. The posts on social media do not take any of this into account. Therefore, we have marked this claim as misleading’.
Do I need to explain the stupidity of this ‘factcheck’?
Firstly the ‘factcheck’ admits ‘that the world as a whole is seeing fewer burned areas’
The ‘factcheck’ then says ‘this is not true for all regions’. OK, but if some regions have more burnt area and the total burnt area is decreasing as the ‘factcheck’ admits, then some areas must be having significantly less burnt area
The ‘factcheck’ claims ‘In places like the United States, the extent of wildfires is increasing’. This may be true of the last few years, but the area burnt in the U.S. is tiny compared to the area burnt in the boiling hot 1920s and 1930s when atmospheric CO2 levels were around 100 ppm (parts per million) lower than they are today:
The ‘factcheck’ admits ‘as inhabited areas are expanding into the wild, risks of ignition and the harms connected with wildfires are increasing’. OK, this means that many of the wildfires are due to extended human habitation and nothing to do with supposed climate change

I admire the climate catastrophists’ increasingly complicated mental contortions as they try to turn everything into proof that we are facing climate Armageddon when the facts suggest that the opposite is true.

Absolutely correct. Of the above list, I’d like to highlight ‘narcissism’ as I suggest that the whole woke nonsense of climate-catastrophism and multiple genders and micro-aggressions, critical race theory and much else, which is tearing our countries apart, is just a form of fanatical, virtue-signalling, nihilistic narcissism.
Point 2: Politics is increasingly corrupt, life increasingly unjust.
Absolutely correct – just look at the bunch of lying, incompetent, scheming, self-enriching cowards running the UK. Or the senile basket-case of a US president. Or the rotten corrupt, self-serving EU. Or the totally corrupt international organisations like the United Nations or the World Health Organisation.
Point 3:A cabal of insiders accrues wealth and power at the expense of the citizens, fostering a fatal opposition of interests between haves and have-nots.
During Covid, the world’s billionaires have become massively richer while the rest of us have been burdened with huge rises in national debts the repayment of which we and our children and their children will be taxed for generations to come. Moreover, the elites are forcing their ludicrous ‘net zero’ greeny agenda on the rest of us, impoverishing our lives while they enjoy the privilege of jetting around the world to lecture on us on why we should be happy giving up many of those very things which make life worth living
Point 4:The majority lives for bread and circuses (panem et circusem); they worship celebrities instead of divinities
You only need to look at the endless stream of z-list supposed celebs on cooking or dancing or reality TV shows and see how many millions follow the inane twitterings of their social media heroes.
Point 5:The majority shirk duties but insist on entitlements.
With one in five Brits claiming they are disabled, with hundreds of thousands of Third-Worlders flooding into European countries with the most generous welfare systems and over two million crossing into the US since cognitively-challenged Joe Biden was wheeled into the White House unaware of where he was, why he was there and what day of the week it was, I hardly need to comment on this. Though I’ll mention Milton Friedman who famously once said something like, “you cannot simultaneously have open borders and a welfare state” (1999). This is something our open-borders-loving rulers don’t seem to understand.
Well, hopefully that will cheer you all up this weekend. As for me, I’ll be watching the women’s world cup as I was surprised at how entertaining the Australia vs England clash was.
