I’m over-wintering (with my wife) in the Land of Smells (LoS). I love a couple of months a year here. You can go running along the seafront or do 40-50 lengths of the pool in the morning, the food is unbelieveble (and cheap), the array of vegetables, herbs and spices in my local market is wonderful and the best entertainment of all can be had by watching the local girls relieving foreigners (farang) of large quantities of money.
This seems to happen on two main levels:
Level 1 – Step 1: Girl gets farang to buy her a drink in the bar where she works. For every £2 drink, the girl gets £1. Step 2: Get farang to take girl for ‘short time (one sex sesssion) – cost £15 to £30. Step 3: Get farang to take girl for ‘long time’ (from one night to several days) price subject to negotiation.
Level 1 is fairly straightforward and in general you get what you pay for unless you’re an idiot and mistakenly take a ladyboy. Then you’ll probably get your drink spiked and wake up a few hours later with a sore head and all your possessions gone without ever finding out that your ‘girl’ probably had more between ‘her’ legs than you ever imagined. It’s at Level 2 that things get a bit more creative.
Level 2 – Step 1: Girl tells farang a sad story “mama sick need medicine”, “papa no work hurt leg”, “buffalo die hit by big car” or whatever. So farang gives girl some money to pay for whatever disaster she has invented. Step 2: Girl tells farang “me no want work bar. Family no money. Me want find farang good heart”. She then looks at him with pleading eyes and adds “many farang no good, hab bad heart”. Either the farang believes the girl’s story or else he just can’t stand the thought that, after he has gone home, his lovely little girl will be sexually abused by 10-15 huge, fat, sweaty, 150-200 kilo, tattooed sex tourists a week.
So he offers to send her money every month if she gives up her bar work. She agrees and they have a tearful farewell at the airport. Stupid farang then sends money every month while girl goes back to bar to find another willing victim.
(Please note, I am not making any moral judgements on the girls. There is a great difference between growing up in the UK where, if you are too lazy or stupid to work, you can get £25,000 a year for necessities like booze, fags, flat-screen TVs, Playstations and a holiday in Benidorm and growing up in a country where, if you don’t work you don’t eat. In fact, as a former salesman myself, I often watch the girls’ sales techniques with admiration)
But then there’s an impressive refinement of Level 2 extraction of money. Step 3: Farang misses girl so much that he agrees to pay for a house to be built in her village (cost £25,000 to £30,000) where they can both eventually live happily ever after. Unfortunately, in the LoS foreigners cannot own land and cannot own 50% or more of a property. So, to make things easier for the farang, the girl offers to put the property 60% in her name and 40% in the name of the farang, “no plobrem, you me same same, sell house I give you money, sure sure, me good girl”.
Perhaps some readers can already guess where this is going to end?
Sometimes the girls here refer to farang men as “kwai” (water buffalo) because they’re usually big, fat and smelly like water buffalo and easily as stupid.
I often read about men getting fleeced here by the ‘love of their lives’ who is usually less than half their age and certainly less than half their weight. And yesterday I met a real live example. He’s Spanish, from Barcelona. Though he’s not the usual sweaty, tattooed, shaven-headed lard-lump. In fact, he’s only 35 years old and quite good looking. But he now spends most days begging for a few baht outside my local 7Eleven.
A few years ago, he met a lovely 19-year-old girl in a bar in the appropriately named Bangkok. She quickly moved through Level 1 steps 1, 2 and 3. Then she took him to Level 2. He was soon sending her over £1,000 a month – quite a lot of money even in Europe, a fortune here where it’s equivalent to about £50,000 a year tax-free in spending power.
Then came the house in her village where they would both live happily ever after – only £28,000 and with 5 bedrooms and a swimming pool:
Oh, and to deal with the legal issues of ownership, the girl’s mother kindly offered to let the house be put 60% in her name and 40% in the Spaniard’s name, “no plobrem, we no cheat you, we good people, we Buddha good heart”. So, once the house was ready he moved from Spain to the LoS to be with his beloved. But as he was no longer earning money, he wasn’t contributing the £1,000 a month to the family budget that they had come to expect. So they threw him out, contacted the local police and for a generous contribution to the ‘police pension fund’ had a local copper warn the guy that he’d be thrown in prison if he ever returned to the village.
I didn’t check this, but I imagine to make payments for building the house easier he probably set up a joint bank account with the girl “no plobrem, we no cheat you, we believe Buddha, hab to be good in life for next life” and she helpfully emptied the account before he was thrown out of the home he had paid for.
Thus, he spends his time begging for enough money to survive.
There’s a old Yiddish saying “when a man’s penis stands up, his brains go into the ground”. From what I’ve observed here, I can vouch for the accuracy of this statement.
I’ve been waiting with bated breath for our great leader, podgy *sl*mo-Dave Cameron, to tell us that the slaughter of innocents in Paris ‘”had nothing to do with *sl*m which is a religion of peace”. After all, that’s what *sl*mo-Dave claims after every such attack. But Dave has been curiously silent. Perhaps he realises that his usual *sl*mophiliac bollox won’t wash this time.
Instead, I suspect the narrative we’ll be fed by our rulers will be along the lines of “we all need to pull together after this appalling tragedy”. Such a mealy-mouthed explanation suggests, of course, that what happened in Paris (and will soon happen in Britain) was the responsibility of all of us and had nothing to do with one particular backward, intolerant, violent, ever-offended group in our society. Also, by using a word like “tragedy”, our rulers are almost equating this to a natural disaster, like an earthquake, rather than admitting it was a deliberate slaughter of innocent people by murderers encouraged by their mentors – the leaders of the M*sl*m community.
In fact, our rulers have spent more time criticising Nigel Farage for daring to say that we have a M*sl*m Fifth Column in Europe, than they have spent mentioning the role of M*sl*m leaders in encouraging their murderous devil’s spawn
Our rulers are still working out how to respond to the events in Paris while not offending (or even mentioning) M*sl*ms. But in the press cowardly, politically-correct apologists for the *sl*mic murderers have already begun creeping out from under their stones.
Financial Times – the Europe editor of the Financial Times, Tony Barber accused Charlie Hebdo, the French satirical newspaper of “M*sl*m baiting”. In an opinion piece published just hours after 12 people were killed in the Paris assault, Barber wrote that “Charlie Hebdo has a long record of mocking, baiting and needling French Muslims,” adding: “France is the land of Voltaire, but too often editorial foolishness has prevailed at Charlie Hebdo.” Referring to the magazine that regularly pokes fun at religious leaders and people of authority, Barber called the newspaper “stupid” and lacking in “common sense”.
Having tried to blame the cartoonists, he of course went on to criticise the murderers: “This is not in the slightest to condone the murderers, who must be caught and punished, or to suggest that freedom of expression should not extend to satirical portrayals of religion,” he wrote. “It is merely to say that some common sense would be useful at publications such as Charlie Hebdo, and Denmark’s Jyllands-Posten, which purport to strike a blow for freedom when they provoke Muslims, but are actually just being stupid.”
So, the Financial Times believes that anyone who dares criticise the backwardness, stupidity, intolerance and fanaticism of the death cult that is *sl*m is “stupid”. Maybe the rest of us might call those who dare expose the problems with *sl*m “brave”?
The Times – Charles Bremner, the Europe correspondent for the Times, also started making excuses for the murderers claiming “France is paying price for pushing 6 million Muslims to the margins”. Bremner then goes on to suggest that it is French M*sl*ms who are the victims: “The Muslims of France are suffering real anxiety living in this climate of stigmatisation” perhaps overlooking the fact that M*sl*ms have not been marginalised and stigmatised. They have repeatedly refused to integrate with our society and to accept our norms of tolerance and free speech.
Daily Telegraph – Even in the Telegraph, we are being told it is all our fault and no blame should be attached to M*sl*ms. Their ranting buffoon Dan Hodges wrote today: “we are failing to integrate significant elements of our Muslim communities fully and effectively into our society”.
Hopefully the British people will not be fooled by all this politically-correct claptrap.
No doubt our terrified *sl*mophiliac journalists will soon be claiming that M*sl*ms are really peaceful tolerant people and tiny Israel’s supposed “oppression” of 400 million Arabs is the real reason for *sl*mic terror attacks.
Here we go again. Another winter, another NHS A&E crisis and our useless politicians are all throwing rocks at each other. So, what has gone wrong?
On the Right they blame things like New Labour’s ludicrous new GP contracts which made many GPs millionaires while removing any requirement to provide out-of-hours service, excessive immigration, foreigners flying in to abuse our increasingly International Health Service, the high birth rates of our M*sl*m friends, fat idiots who want gastric bands because they can’t stop eating fast food and self-obsessed nobodies who want cosmetic surgery to solve their ‘psychological problems’
On the Left they blame increasing privatisation of NHS services and, of course, old people who having worked and paid taxes all their lives don’t have the good grace to drop dead instantly on retirement and so expect the NHS to provide some level of care when they fall ill.
And everyone blames useless, aggressive drunks who clog up A&E most weekends.
Each of our political parties claims they can be trusted with running the NHS – ‘only we can save the NHS‘ (Labour) or ‘a strong economy means a strong NHS’(Tories). (Who knows or cares what the LibDems claim?)
But the one thing none of our rulers dares mention is the incredible speed at which the number of hospital beds has been slashed by both Labour and Tories (click to see more clearly)
Yet as beds are being closed, spending on the NHS keeps on going up:
If voters actually knew how many hospital beds both New Labour and the Coalition have cut, then there would be outrage over our lying politicians’ promises about preserving NHS services.
So, at a time when the three groups that need hospital beds the most – M*sl*m baby machines, freeloading foreigners and pensioners who are so selfish that they won’t willingly follow the ‘Liverpool Pathway’ or the Mid-Staffs ‘die today’ solution to hospital overcrowding – are expanding, our rulers are cutting the number of available hospital beds. Am I the only person who suspects there is something that doesn’t make sense here?
There are, of course, many reasons for the chaos in A&E. I’ve listed quite a few of them above. Both those on the Left and Right are correct in identifying some of the problems. But one of the most important (and the one no politician of Left or Right dares mention) is how a massive reduction in available hospital beds means people \are getting stuck in A&E unable to be admitted to wards causing blockages, backlogs and sometimes total paralysis of the system.
The winter A&E crisis – I suspect that it’s really all about the beds, or rather lack of beds.
Boxing Day, a couple of weeks ago marked the 10th anniversary of the great Asian Tsunami which killed about 250,00 people and made another 2 million or so homeless. The response to this disaster by other countries was impressive and around $6.5bn was given in aid to the affected countries.
To celebrate this, the Guardian wrote a typically limp-wristed piece about all the wonderful things that had been achieved with our $6.5bn. The Guardian also produced a few charts showing how effectively our aid money had been spent. But being possibly excessively cynical, I looked at the Guardian charts and came to quite different conclusions than the Guardian hand-wringer.
Here’s the main chart showing how the first $1.25bn tranche of our money was used:
Woops! Has anyone else noticed that for around $515m of this initial $1.25bn, the aid agencies hadn’t a clue where the money had gone? Well, being a helpful sort of person, perhaps I can assist the Guardian journalist.
1. Indonesia – I’ll start with Indonesia as that’s where the most people died (168,000) and the most were made homeless (500,000) and the country that received the largest amount from the whole $6.5bn. Indonesia got about $1bn. An Indonesian anti-corruption organisation estimated that at least 30% to 40% of Indonesia’s $1bn aid had gone walkabout – mostly into the bank accounts of corrupt politicians, bureaucrats and their business cronies
2. Sri Lanka – next comes Sri Lanka with 35,300 dead, 516,000 people missing and $652m in aid. We don’t have any good figures on how much of the $652m given to Sri Lanka was stolen. But we do have some colourful stories indicating the scale of graft. For example, customs officers in Sri Lanka impounded vehicles and medical supplies we sent to help Sri Lanka’s 516,000 displaced tsunami victims and the families of the country’s 35,300 dead. The corrupt customs officers would reportedly only release the vehicles and aid in return for an immediate payment of around $1m in cash bribes and further payments of another $2m, again in cash. The money was handed over.
Apart from stolen aid money, another issue was theft of land. Many of the Tsunami victims and their families had lived close to the coast for generations. But in some Asian countries whole villages had never had any legal documentation of their ownership of the land on which they lived. In the past this wasn’t a problem. But with the growth of mass tourism, costal land has risen hugely in value. So, when they tried to return to their villages, many thousands found their path blocked by armed guards from local property developers and our reconstruction money probably went into the building of hotels, beach resorts, restaurants and bars.
Another issue is the sheer number of aid agencies involved. Typically after any disaster, between 500 and 1,000 aid agencies will descend on the affected area all with their offices, staff, 4X4 SUVs and so on. As you’ll see from the chart above $195m of the first £1.25bn went on just trying to coordinate the efforts of these many aid groups.
Study after study of foreign aid spending indicates that between 50% and 75% of all foreign aid money to Third World countries gets lost either through incompetence or dishonesty. But those lucratively riding on the foreign aid gravy train choose to avoid mentioning the scale of waste and corruption in case we stop funding their well-paid, jet-setting international lifestyles.
The state of Israel was founded in May 1948. So it has existed for just 66 years. But will it survive for another 66 years?
If we think forward to what Britain will be like in 50 to 60 years, I imagine the most likely scenario is that the UK will no longer exist, Scotland and Wales will be independent countries and all of the former UK will just be an administrative unit of a massive EU superstate run by a corrupt, wasteful, self-serving, hereditary, unelected bureaucratic elite. Moreover, in most cities in the former Britain the majority will be immigrants and their children and many cities will be majority M*sl*m, while many ethnic Brits will have moved out of our ghetto cities to escape the foreign invasion. But at least out in the countryside there will still be signs of the former UK.
But what about Israelis? What will happen to their country in the next 50 to 60 years? Will it exist at all?
Here are just five reasons why I believe the state of Israel will have disappeared within this century:
1. Demographics – the population of Israel is around 8 million. This includes 6 million Jews, 1.7 million Arabs and about 300,000 others. Moreover, hundreds of thousands of supposed Jews are not really Jewish. They’re immigrants from the former Soviet Union and its satellite countries who claimed to be Jewish to escape communist repression. So they have no loyalty to a Jewish state.
Within 50 years there will 4 million Arabs. Soon it will not be long before Israeli Arabs outnumber Israeli Jews.
But, of course, the biggest threat comes from the Arabs in the countries surrounding Israel. In 1970, there were 128 million Arabs. Today this has risen to 366 million, by 2050 there will be about 600 million.
A few Arabs (those in the oil- and gas-rich Gulf States) will live well. But the vast majority will live in unemployed squalor due to their own backwardness, laziness and stupidity and the greed, venality and incompetence of their leaders. However, Arab leaders have managed an incredible achievement. Using their death-cult religion, they have managed to convince the ignorant masses that all their overcrowded, fetid, impoverished squalor is due only to the baleful existence of the supposed ‘Israeli Zionists’ inhabiting a tiny, insignificant strip of land.
Israel will soon be hated by close to 600 million enemies. If just one per cent of those people take up arms against Israel, the Jewish state is toast
2. It’s surrounded by its enemies – if you look at a map of the Arab world (countries in green) you can hardly see Israel. Any military leader looking at this map could only come to one conclusion. The tiny strip of land that is Israel cannot be defended. At some point it will be overwhelmed:
3. It’s a success – within a few decades, using hard work, ingenuity and ambition, the Israelis have turned their sliver of land in to an agricultural and industrial success story. They have been especially successful in pharmaceuticals, IT and military products (for obvious reasons). At the same time, most Arab countries have stagnated or even gone backwards consigning their people to an excrement-covered poverty. Israel shows that you don’t need oil and gas wealth to create a good life for your people. Israel shows what Arabs could have achieved if they weren’t so idle, stupid, ignorant, corrupt and medieval-minded. That’s why the Arabs loathe Israel. The Arabs want to portray themselves as victims so they can steal billions in foreign aid. But Israel shows the Arabs are only victims of their own indolence and worthlessness. All land that has been handed back to Arabs in return for peace has been quickly turned into infertile scrubland. If the Arabs can over-run Israel and reduce this one productive, fertile country to a medieval slum like most Arab countries, then the Arabs can once again portray themselves as victims. That’s just another reason they have to destroy Israel – the only beacon of hope in the whole blighted region.
4. Jewish flight – Many Israelis are beginning to see that their existence is under real threat. A recent survey found that 40% of Israeli Jews were considering emigration. This is just a trickle at the moment. But soon it will turn into a flood leaving insufficient resources to defend the country. A tipping point will be reached when there are fewer Jews in Israel than Arabs. Then we will see a terrified Exodus as the Arabs seize their chance and start butchering the remaining Israelis
5. Betrayal by the West – Jews are still hated in most of Western Europe. During WWII, Denmark was the only country that acted to save its Jews from the Germans. The French, Dutch, Belgians, Italians and others enthusiastically assisted the Germans in rounding up their Jews for extermination. As Europe becomes increasingly *sl*mified, its leaders will abandon Israel’s Jews to their fate in the hope that this will placate the Arab pressure within and outside their countries. They will hope that if they hand over the Jews to be slaughtered, that will quench the Arabs’ blood lust and Europe will be left in peace. They will be badly wrong. When the Israeli Jews have been wiped out, the Arabs will turn their hatred on Europe.
So, if you’re thinking of making any long-term property investments, I would humbly suggest that Israel is not the place to put your money.
Sadly Israel is probably doomed. It’s not a matter of ‘will the Jewish state be destroyed?’- it’s just a matter of ‘when?’.
In 2014 our great leader, Isl*mo-Dave Cameron, suggested that it would be a good idea to let Turkey into the EU. Of course, this would be great for *sl*mo-Dave and his mates as this would give an almost endless supply of cleaners and other low-paid domestics for their many homes. But for the rest of us, it would be a catastrophe of more than biblical proportions.
When Turkey first started discussions with the EU in the 1960s there were less than 30 million Turks. Now there are close to 80 million.
In another 30 years or so there will be maybe 160 million and then over 300 million by the end of the 21st century.
Oh dear, *sl*mo-Dave forgot to tell us quite how fast M*sl*m Turkey’s population is growing.
But it’s not just Turkey. Across the Arab world M*sl*m populations are exploding while Western countries are seeing stagnant and even declining populations:
Although the UK’s population has increased slightly over the last 50 years, this is mainly due to the fertility of a certain immigrant group.
We may be able to slow down the conquering hordes from the *sl*mic State with bombs and bullets. But nothing can slow the rapid and relentless rise of the M*sl*m populations that will eventually overwhelm formerly Christian Europe once our M*sl*m ‘friends’ have successfully slaughtered all Christians and other ‘unbelievers’ still living in Arab countries.
Truly, the belly is stronger than the bullet.
The wondrous *sl*mo-Dave also said that he would like to see a M*sl*m PM in the UK. Hey Dave. the way things are going, you may not have to wait that long.

Our politicians know that the elderly are more likely to vote than the young. In 2010, 75% of the over-65s voted compared to about 55% of those aged 18 to 34:
So when election time approaches, our politicians are lavish with their promises to older people in order to get their votes.
But how well have successive governments actually treated the elderly?
Firstly, a few pensioner facts
1.Britain’s state pension is one of the lowest in the developed world
2. About 28,000 elderly die every winter from conditions related to the cold, often because they can’t afford to heat their homes properly
3. Around 500,000 pensioners receive some form of care in their homes – often just one or two 15-minute visits a day. These visits are so short, that many elderly have to make a choice whether to eat or go to the toilet when there’s someone there to help them
Of course, Britain is drowning in debt and we can’t afford to look after our elderly properly, can we? But who do our rulers prioritise when handing out the little money we have?
Let’s start with Labour
Under New Labour, we got “immigration, immigration, immigration”. Around 7 million immigrants poured into Britain as part of Blair’s deliberate policy to open the borders, force multi-culturalism on us and, of course, import Labour voters.
About 70% of immigrants work. Assuming 80% of those working are getting tax credits of the average of £5,600 a year, then that’s costing us about £21.9bn a year. Then assume that the 2,100,000 immigrants not working are costing us about £10,000 each a year in benefits and public services (NHS, schools, policing, translation, housing etc) then that’s another £21bn.
So, these immigrants are probably costing us around £42.9bn a year. That’s enough to give Britain’s 11 million pensioners a rise in their pensions of around £3,900 a year. Then our state pension wouldn’t look so miserly.
Or we could have given our 11 million pensioners just £3,000 each and that would have left £20,000 a year for each of the 500,000 pensioners receiving care in their homes. Then we really would be able to provide proper care for these 500,000 needing it.
And now the Coalition
Well, firstly the Tory/LibDem government continued to allow mass immigration, generously showering new arrivals with our money. For example, the Coalition could have stopped paying £52m a year child benefits to children not living in Britain. But they did nothing.
Perhaps the biggest change in spending under Cameron/Clegg was the massive increase in foreign aid to the world’s most corrupt kleptocrats from £7.9bn a year to £12bn a year. Just this £4.1bn increase would have been enough to give every one of Britain’s 11 million pensioners an extra £400 each winter to help heat their homes or Britain’s poorest pensioners more than £1,000 each. That would have warmed quite a few homes and saved a few thousand lives.
So, old people, there’s something you need to understand – our rulers want your votes. But they don’t seem to want you.
They’d much rather give our money to foreigners who have contributed nothing to our country than to British pensioners, many of whom will have worked and paid taxes most of their lives.
One of the lines we’ll be fed by LibLabCon between now and the 7 May 2015 General Election is that we should ‘only vote for a serious political party’ – basically Con, Lab or (don’t laugh) Lib. And the parasitical LibLabCon and their sycophantic journalist minions will increasingly hurl abuse at and smear UKIP in their desperate attempts to portray UKIP as ‘not serious’.
So, as we approach the end of the year, it’s maybe a good time to look back at what I’ve chosen as the ‘Top Ten Achievements‘ of the supposedly ‘serious’ political parties while they’ve been in power:
1. Trashed the economy and taken our national debt from £300bn in 1997 to over £1.45trn now and still rising by £90bn+ a year so we’re paying over £1bn a week in interest (enough to pay for 2,000,000 nurses)
2. Flooded the country with over 8 million immigrants. Most of the immigrants who work will be costing us around £5,600 each in tax credits and public services and those that don’t work will easily be costing us over £10,000 a year each in benefits and services
3. Pretended the economy is growing by borrowing tens of billions to give to these immigrants in benefits and services plus adding prostitution and drugs into our GDP figures
3. Created total havoc in the Middle East, deposing strong rulers who had control of their countries and unleashing the joys of Jihad which will eventually lead to the deaths of over 20 million people when things really hot up in a few years’ time
4. Tried to start a war with Russia by expanding the EU and eventually NATO to Russia’s borders, breaking an agreement made when Germany was unified. Instead we should be making Russia our ally to fight our common enemy – the Religion of Peace and Tolerance
5. Betrayed our country – handed the last vestiges of our sovereignty over to the corrupt, wasteful, undemocratic, German-run EU without asking anyone
6. Fleeced us – allowed the banking, bureaucratic and political elites to loot the country while squeezing ever more tax money out of the rest of us to pay for our parasitic rulers’ greed
7. Robbed anyone with savings – pushed interest rates down so much that savers are losing tens of billions every year and the only chance savers have of protecting their savings is by (often reluctantly) becoming buy-to-let landlords
8. Priced the next generation out of home ownership as the buy-to-letters are snapping up a huge percentage of properties for sale
9. Fallen for the Global Warming hoax and started shutting efficient power stations providing cheap energy and replaced them with ludicrously expensive and inefficient ‘green energy’
10. Thrown tens of billions at the most corrupt people in the world – increased the amount of ‘foreign aid’ money we shove into the offshore bank accounts of the world’s worst kleptocrats from £7.9bn to £12bn a year. Just this rise of £4.1bn would be more than enough to pay the salaries of the 32,400 police and the 39,500 military who are being fired to save money
So, there you have it. Ten pretty good reasons why you should only vote for a ‘serious political party’
And, as LibLabCon have been exposed as lying, self-serving, thieving, incompetent, parasitical fools who have brought our once great country to its knees, that just leaves UKIP

Though, given that the climate is always changing and that there’s absolutely nothing we can do about it, you might as well have a Department for Faeries and Unicorns.
Probably the only positive thing you can say about Mr Davey is ‘WYSIWYG’ (What You See Is What You Get). The man looks like a comedian and a complete and utter idiot and he is a complete and utter idiot (unlike Mel Smith who was a highly intelligent and talented man)
Developed countries need energy, lots of it. In the UK, the energy we require can only be sourced from hydrocarbon fuels and/or nuclear fission. There are no other energy sources that contain enough energy, by a factor of many times.
So by demonising CO2 – a harmless plant-food, by-product from the combustion of hydrocarbon fuels – the global warming campaign offered an unprecedented effective weapon to strike at the roots of western civilisation. Realising the potential, just about every ‘down-with-everything’ pressure group (who would not otherwise have given each other the time of day) climbed onto the climate change bandwagon, and a huge propaganda offensive resulted
The problem for western democracies with their universal enfranchisement is that the thick/gullible voters are in the majority. So, by dint of a relentless propaganda campaign aimed at these clots, the pressure groups influenced our rulers, who always put their sinecures before patriotism and the good of their people as a whole. In the UK the result was Ed Miliband’s iniquitous (and soon to become infamous) 2008 Climate Change Act.
Regardless of the total lack of evidence that changes to the concentration of atmospheric CO2 have ever affected the climate, and despite warnings that the underlying science of the massive and lucrative warming industry was decidedly wormy, our politicians hit on the idea of cutting CO2 emissions by installing wind turbines pretty much everywhere. This asinine notion could only have been conceived by arts graduates with heads in the clouds and brains in their bottoms. Professional graduate engineers and energy companies, who understand these matters, would have already followed the windfarm path if it was worth following.
Wind power is intermittent and comes in irrelevant and puerile quantities. So the National Grid had to be forced by law to use it. But they also had to keep enough real power stations in reserve to power the nation when the wind did not blow enough or else blew too strongly (which was most of the time). Those thermal units needed to be kept as spinning reserve, burning fuel and emitting CO2. So the supposed CO2 saving (postulating that such a saving was even necessary) was completely illusory.
Moreover, the cost of wind power hugely exceeds that of coal, gas and oil, so it was massively subsidised by levies on our energy bills.
Then what did the lunatics running the asylum do next? They started shutting down the power stations that our nation needs to keep the lights on. When the electoral implications of their folly were pointed out – potential blackouts – they then arranged covert deployment of diesel back-up systems (funded from our energy bills again) to keep the lights on before the next general election. And now our rulers have just handed over another billion or so of our money to keep some gas, oil and nuclear power stations available to avoid even worse power cuts after the 2015 election.
So we have a ludicrous situation where a falsified and discredited scientific hoax without a shred of empirical evidence to support it has been used by non-engineers to justify the imposition of an unnecessary and particularly unsuitable power source onto the National Grid for doctrinaire reasons.
You couldn’t make it up! Thanks Mr Miliband and Mr Davey
Oh, and here are some stupid proles (also known as ‘voters’) cheering the demolition of a perfectly good functioning power station in a vain attempt to prevent supposed global warming, not realising that the reason their energy bills are shooting up is precisely because we’re replacing good, cheap power with ruinously expensive ‘climate-friendly’ alternatives
