Snouts in the Trough

The quote in the title is usually ascribed to economist Herb Stein and is sometimes referred to as “Stein’s Law”.

Here’s a chart of the trend in debt as a percentage of GDP for five of the main European countries:

Italy, France, Spain and Britain are all on an impossible trajectory. No country can ever keep on increasing debt. At some point, as Greece has found, “if something cannot go on forever, it stops”. And when it stops, that can be extremely painful – a 27% fall in GDP, 30% unemployment, 50% youth unemployment, hundreds of thousands losing their homes, social breakdown.

In Britain, the political parties are falling over each other offering us new bribes to vote for them. But bribes cost money and our Government is already spending £90bn a year more than it takes in taxes.

Our debt has doubled under the Coalition from around £750bn in 2010 to £1.5trn now. In 2014, we paid £47.4bn in interest payments. That’s more than we spent on defence – £44.3bn. We don’t notice these payments as we never see the money (£130m a day) going out. Think what the government could do with that extra £130m a day.

But our interest payments mean there is £47.4bn less to spend on health, education, transport, pensions, border control (sorry, that was just a joke) and, of course MPs’ salaries and expenses for members of the Lords.

Moreover, our debt interest payments are forecast to hit £60bn next year:

So, any government will have to find another £13bn in cuts or tax rises just to pay our rising interest bill. And this is assuming that we continue to pay interest at current rates. Were lenders to become concerned at our government’s financial incontinence and interest rates were to increase to reflect the fact that British debt was becoming more risky, we could well end up paying £80bn or £90bn a year in interest – almost the total budget of the NHS.

Meanwhile our politicians witter on about possibly “reducing the deficit”. Good luck to them. But every day we have a deficit, our debt increases.

If we are going to stop our debt increasing, our rulers have to find around £90bn of cuts or tax rises! Totally impossible. Or rather, quite possible, but political suicide in a country where 54% of voters get more in public services and benefits than they pay in taxes.

So, as our politicians desperately try to get our votes by bribing us with our own money, just remember what Herb said “If something cannot go on forever, it will stop”.

Our politicians seem to forget that Britain cannot go on forever increasing its debt. At some point our increasing debt must stop. We’ve been here before under Labour and had to be rescued by the IMF. I expect the ugly, misformed three-headed Miliband/Sturgeon/Salmond monster will take us there again:

Concerned about being discriminated against in Britain? Don’t worry. In Britain, political correctness means that the only people discriminated against are the indigenous white population

6. An indigenous population who are never consulted on immigration

Afraid that the British people might try to stop immigration? Don’t worry. None of the main political parties in Britain will ever give British people the opportunity to vote on whether or not they want unlimited, open-door immigration

7. A Government and Police who ignore the abuse of our children

9. A Government who regard anybody who’s white as a semi-racist

Talking of racism. If you ever have a problem with a white person – maybe you want to rob them or beat them up or extort money from them – don’t worry. If the police get involved, you can just accuse the white person of racism and they’ll be the one who gets into trouble

10. Britain is becoming an overcrowded, Third-World hell hole

It’s not called ‘Great’ Britain for nothing!

I wanted to write about something else today. But I got so angry at the biased media coverage of the immigrant invasion from Africa, that I thought it worth exposing the mainstream media’s lies yet again.

One of the most quoted comments on all the news bulletins at the moment comes from a Mr Zeid Raad al-Hussein, the United Nations’ human rights chief. He has demanded that European Union governments to take a new and “less callous” approach to the surge of migrants crossing the Mediterranean and has claimed that recent deaths in the Mediterranean were due to “a monumental failure of compassion”. He also warned that Europe is turning its back on some of the world’s most vulnerable migrants and risks turning the Mediterranean into “a vast cemetery”.

What total bllx!!!!

What about the $20bn development aid given to Africa every year for the last 50 years? Where has that gone?

What about the fortunes amassed by Africa’s corrupt and incompetent rulers? Former head of the Congo – $5bn; former head of Nigeria – $4bn; Robert Mugabe – $3bn and in Ethiopia, supposedly one of Africa’s poorest countries, ten members of the ruling elite are estimated to be worth over $21bn!

They make our most popular former leader, multimillionaire Tony Blair. look like a penniless pauper in comparison.

Where does Mr Zeid Raad al-Hussein, with his massive tax-free UN salary and pension, think all these fortunes came from? They came from mass looting by Africa’s rulers. We have shown compassion every year for 50 years. Africa’s venal, thieving rulers have sh*t on their own people in order to enrich themselves and our rulers have said and done absolutely nothing to stop half a century of catastrophic impoverishment and devastation in Africa.

Britain’s most famous rent-a-gob, Katie Hopkins, was recently lambasted by the politically correct for saying we should send in the gunboats and return all the immigrants to Africa. Possibly she overstepped the mark by calling them “cockroaches”? But here’s a chart showing something nobody in the bleeding-heart, mainstream media will ever dare mention. It’s the past and projected future population growth of Africa compared to Europe and should send a chill down the spine of anyone who worries about our future:

The population of Africa will have increased from around 1.2 billion today to 3.57 billion by the end of this century. What we’re seeing now – thousands of Africans flooding into Europe every week – is just a tiny trickle compared to the tsunami of immigration that’s coming our way over the next 10 to 20 years.

Are we expected to let them all in?

This chart suggests that Ms Hopkins was not far off the mark with her choice of words.

We have shown compassion every year for 50 years. Africa’s problems are due to the corruption of Africa’s rulers and 50 years of lies and failure from the foreign aid industry:

We all love Stephen Fry. Urbane, erudite, witty, cultured – a true national treasure. Though some of his more traditional fans might have slightly raised an eyebrow when the 57-year-old Fry got married to a man 30 years younger than himself.

But Stephen Fry is not just a skilled TV performer and highly successful writer. He is also a fearless (sometimes?) campaigner for LGBT rights. Prior to the Sochi Winter Olympics in Russia, he wrote a letter to David Cameron, Sebastian Coe and the head of the IOC demanding that the Sochi Olympics be moved to another country as a punishment for Russia’s supposed persecution of gays:

In his letter Fatty insisted: “The IOC absolutely must take a firm stance on behalf of the shared humanity it is supposed to represent against the barbaric, fascist law that Putin has pushed through the Duma”. Fry’s bold stance was, of course, supported by loads of other right-on lefty luvvies, Guardianistas and similar opinion leaders.

If I remember correctly, the legislation that Fatty called “the barbaric, fascist law that Putin has pushed through the Duma” just made it illegal to promote same-sex sex to underage children. So, perhaps not the most liberal of laws, but hardly “barbaric” or “fascist”.

Let’s spool forward to today. Whenever our friends in ISIL find someone they think might be gay, they take them up onto a high building and throw them off:

Then a mob is encouraged to kick, beat and stone the victim, whether they are dead or even still alive, and finally the remains are set on fire.

Now, that’s what I’d call “barbaric” and “fascist”. But strangely, Fatty Fry and the other leftie luvvies who so bravely suggested taking the Winter Olympics away from Russia, or at least a British boycott, have been curiously quiet. Not even a peep of criticism. Why ever not?

One reason is that lefties never criticise M*sl*ms and never dare suggest that *sl*m might be a violent, barbaric death cult rather than a religion. Lefties loathe Israel (the only democratic state in the Middle East) and they loathe America (which has twice made huge sacrifices to save Europe from a German takeover). But they love M*sl*ms and in their eyes our dear M*sl*m friends can do no wrong.

The other reason why lefties say nothing is that they’re afraid. They’re afraid of being accused of being “bigots” and “*sl*mophobes”  and thus losing their usually well-paid jobs. And they’re afraid of being killed by the very people they so eagerly support.

So, as Christians are slaughtered in the Middle East, the lefties say nothing. As gays are slaughtered in the Middle East, the lefties say nothing. But if Israel tries to defend itself against annihilation, the lefties are quickly up in arms.

It must be great to be a self-regarding, self-righteous, morally superior, hypocritical, condescending, bien pensant lefty where you always criticise those who would never fight back against you and you cower away from those who are actually doing evil.
