Sunday-Monday blog
We are assured again and again and again and again that the current heatwave and drought are all due to ‘Global Warming’ or even UN Secretary-General António Guterres’s ‘Global Boiling’. But is this true?
In my previous (weekend) blog, I pointed out that there wasn’t a heatwave in many other parts of the world. In fact, places as far apart as Japan/China/Thailand and Hawaii were experiencing unprecedented levels of flooding.
So, I did a little bit of research (1-2 minutes on Google) to try to establish whether our heatwave was being replicated in many other places as one would expect if the heatwave was a general indication of ‘Global Warming’. I came across this chart:

This shows that for the period 19 July 2026 to 23 July 2026 which areas of Europe were experiencing temperatures above the seasonal average (yellow, red and brown) and which areas were experiencing temperatures below the season average (light blue, dark blue and purple).
I appreciate that this only shows a four day period and that to get a full understanding of what is happening to our climate you would need to see a similar chart for the whole of summer 2026. But what seems to be blindingly obvious from this chart is that there is no general warming at all. In fact, the majority of the European landmass during these dates was actually experiencing lower temperatures than their seasonal average.
What does this tell us?
I ain’t no climate expert like the BBC’s Justin Lowrat (with his Oxford University degree in PPE – Politics, Philosophy and Economics) and other mainstream media (IMHO) ‘climate catastrophists’ of his ilk. But the above chart seems to me to be indicating that this summer’s heatwave in Britain, France, Spain, Italy and Greece is most probably nothing to do with supposed ‘Global Warming’. Instead it seems to be due to a weather system – a heat dome – which got stuck near Western Europe causing unusually high temperatures and droughts in Western Europe while in many countries at the eastern edge of this heat dome, temperatures were well below seasonal averages.
Professor Google tells us:
A heat dome is caused by a strong, stationary high-pressure atmospheric system that moves over a region and acts like a lid on a pot. This system pushes warm air down, compresses it to make it hotter, and blocks clouds or cool winds from entering. A large, wavy northward bulge in the jet stream can trap the high-pressure system in place for days or weeks, preventing weather patterns from moving.
My proposition therefore is that the current heatwave is more likely to be due to a well-known weather system – a heat dome – and zilch to do with supposed ‘Global Warming’. If I am right (an unusual occurrence, I admit) then why on earth are we commiting economic suicide with the ludicrous ‘Net Zero’?
It’s a pity none of our mainstream media supposed ‘journalists’ thought it worth mentioning that the majority of the European landmass has been experiencing lower than average temperatures while we were frying. I wonder why we weren’t told this?
