Apparently our sub-Churchillian prime minister gave a speech at the ‘Big Iftar; in Westminster Hall to a mostly Muslim audience. In his speech he grovellingly bleated that Britain had no role in the attacks on Iran. He also told the audience that they were “the face of modern Britain”.
I’m not sure what he meant by “the face of modern Britain”. Surely it can’t be what horrible, waaccissst, Islamophobic people suggest – misogyny, oppression of women, encouragement of first-cousin marriages, rejection of ideas of equality, freedom and democracy, loathing of the British people and the British way of life?
I wish Mr Starmer could have explained what he meant.
