Question1: How many of England and Wales’s 49 Chief Constables are women, do you think?
- 10?
- 15?
- 20?
- 30?
The answer is that 19 (approximately 40%) of Chief Constable posts in England and Wales are held by women. This figure is up significantly from just four female chief constables in 2019.
Question 2: What percent of police officers are female?
- 10%
- 20%
- 30%
- 40%
The answer is that women make up more than a third (around 34.9%) of all police officers across forces in England and Wales.
Question 3: What percent of new police recruits do you think are female?
- 10%
- 20%
- 30%
- 40%
The answer is that female entrants account for roughly 42.5% of new police recruits.
Question 4: In the year ending March 2025, how many hate crimes were recorded by the police in England and Wales (excluding the Metropolitan Police Service (MPS)
- 10,000
- 20,000
- 30,000
- 50,000
- 100,000
The answer is probably comfortably over 150,000:

Of course, I am not suggesting that there is any connection between the politicisation of our police forces and them increasingly becoming enemies of the people with the rise in the number of females in our police ‘services’. That would be misogynist. And that’s probably a hate crime nowadays. Moreover, being politically correct, I’m sure a five foot something policewoman would be just as effective at tackling a dangerous knife-wielding criminal as a six foot something policeman.
But I can imagine that some cynics might suggest that the feminisation of our police may have had some influence on the police moving away from being unbiased enforcers of law and order to becoming left-wing enforcers of political orthodoxy who see crushing wrong-thought and wrong-speech and protecting illegal, probably benefits-scrounging, West-hating Third-World migrants as being far more important than catching real criminals and preventing real crime.
Shame on such cynics!
