It ain’t Global Boiling, Mate!

In my previous (Sunday-Monday blog) I showed a chart of ‘weather temperature anomalies’ from 19-23 July 2026. By the phrase ‘weather temperature anomalies’ this means temperature deviation from a baseline called ERAS 1991-2020:

The 1991–2020 period is the official standard 30-year climatological reference baseline used by the World Meteorological Organization (WMO), NOAA, and the Copernicus Climate Change Service (ERA5) to define current “climate normals” and evaluate daily or monthly weather anomalies.

My suggestion in that blog was that the current Western and Southern Europe (UK, France, Spain, Italy and Greece) heatwave could not be used as proof of any form of Global Warming’ as the majority of the European landmass actually showed temperatures (blue on the chart) below the seasonal average.

I then suggested that what we were witnessing was a ‘heat dome’ which got stuck over Western/Southern Europe. One of the reasons this heat dome was so static for so long was that the winds over this part of Europe came from an Easterly direction. The prevailing winds in Western Europe blow predominantly from the West or South-West.

A heat dome is caused by a strong, stationary high-pressure atmospheric system that moves over a region and acts like a lid on a pot. This system pushes warm air down, compresses it to make it hotter, and blocks clouds or cool winds from entering. A large, wavy northward bulge in the jet stream can trap the high-pressure system in place for days or weeks, preventing weather patterns from moving.

I have now gone to the original website of that chart – wxcharts,com – and here is the chart for Monday 17 August 2026 to Saturday 22 August:

This seems to me to indicate that the main wind direction is forecast to have changed to the more usual Westerlies and South-Westerlies and this will push the heatwave in an Easterly direction away from Western Europe towards Eastern Europe.

But as with the 19-23 July chart, the majority of the European landmass seems to be experiencing below average temperatures.

If I am (unusually) right, then this suggests that there is no ‘Global Warming European heatwave’ as the BBC and other mainstream media keep claiming. In fact, there seems to be one high pressure system which has brought exceptionally high temperatures to some parts of Europe while most of the continent has remained below average temperatures.

Conclusion: It ain’t Global Boiling, Mate!

So why are we in Britain committing economic suicide with the ludicrous Net Zero?
