Aston Villa ban – gaslighting, lies hypocrisy and appeasement?

Monday blog

Gaslighting:

  • I noticed that none of the mainstream media reports of the reasons for banning Israeli supporters from the Aston Villa game mentioned the fact that the football ground is located in an area where more than 70% of the local population are our friends from the Religion of Peace. Instead we were just told of the likelihood of there being trouble without any explanation of why there might be trouble

Lies:

  • The media reports I saw kept claiming that when the Israeli team played Ajax in Amsterdam there was fighting between the Israeli supporters and the Ajax supporters. What actually happened was that mobs of men from our favourite religion, mainly from Moroccan backgrounds, went ‘Jew hunting’ with the express intention of assaulting any Jew they could find. Very few, if any Ajax supporters were actually involved in the violence

Hypocrisy:

  • Our great prime minister, the (IMHO) lying liar Keir ‘Lying liar’ Starmer spoke at a 2015 Camden Palestine Solidarity Campaign event. He was pictured in front of a banner declaring “Kick Israeli Fascism out of Fifa”, supporting a campaign to suspend Israel from the world footballing authority. The Labour-adoring, UK-hating, Israel-loathing BBC and C4 News don’t seem to have noticed this. Yet now the (IMHO) lying liar Starmer claims he will fight to stop anti-semitism and believes Israeli football fans should be able to attend the Aston Villa game. Rather an impressive (though perhaps unconvincing) ‘Damascene conversion’ some cynics might believe.

Appeasement/Surrender:

  • There’s a great line in a Daily Mail article today describing the banning of Israeli football fans from Birmingham as Britain “retreating from its own territory” and handing over control of part of our country to our friends from a much-loved and venerated cultural group

Chinese ‘Tofu Construction’

Hopefully you’ve all have heard of the expression ‘Tofu Construction’. It refers to the fact that many buildings, bridges, railways, caes and products built by the Chinese are about as solid as tofu. You may remember that, during the recent Myanmar earthquake, the only building in faraway Bangkok which collapsed was a new office block being built by a Chinese company. There were 92 confirmed deaths and several injuries. The reason for the collapse was the usual Chinese corruption – use of substandard materials, cutting corners, failing to put in agreed safety features and much more. After the collapse, a group of Chinese engineers were arrested by the Thai police as they tried to smuggle lots of apparently incriminating documents away from the building site. Oh, and if I remember correctly, the substandard steel for the project was made by a Chinese-owned Thai company.

So, if you’re thinking of buying a low-priced Chinese electric car, you should check a couple of things – the thickness of the main structural parts and the quality of the anti-rust coatings. Better to find you’re driving a deathtrap before it kills you than letting it kill you.

On the subject of Chinese tofu construction, I came across this very short video from 15 October 2025. Enjoy:
