I’m sure most readers are eternally grateful that the world’s elites are sacrificing their valuable time to fly to oil-producing Dubai in their private jets to save us all from what the world’s greatest climatologist, UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres, calls ‘global boiling’. But it’s not only the world’s elites who’ll be at Cop28. The provisional total for COP28 suggests that 97,372 delegates have registered to attend the summit in person. With a further 3,074 attending virtually, this takes the overall total to 100,446. This comfortably makes the Dubai event the largest COP bletherathon in history.
I won’t waste your time writing about the gobsmacking hypocrisy of the most important attendees flying in on their private jets. I believe, Sunak the Spineless, Posh-boy Cameron and our ludicrous king all travelled there on separate private jets paid for by us. It’s a pity they couldn’t have shared a plane or even taken one of the regular Emirates Airways flights (popularly known as ‘Excrement Airways’ due to the state of the toilets from the failure of many passengers to master their complexity):
And I won’t bother mentioning how the whole shebang descended into something worse than farce when the chairman of Cop28 got the ecoloons’ knickers in a twist when he said (correctly) that there was no scientific evidence that phasing out fossil fuels would have any effect on the world’s temperature.
I did a Google search on the likley results of the Cop28 jamboree and came across this answer:

Some prostitutes are going to make a lot of money. Some socially awkward scientists are going to be treated as rock stars. A lot of politicians are going to get drunk, schmoozed, and have an opportunity to brag about how great their policies have been (never mind the truth). A few (or more) will end up with new STDs. Most if not all will become even more compromised. The average person will get screwed as more taxes will be introduced and we all become less free as we will be the last thing the people attending COP28 will be thinking of.
So, in the interest of keeping readers informed about the most important issues facing us, I did a little research.
Google tells us that: “It is impossible to estimate accurately the prostitute population of Dubai. The authorities would never give out such figures, and it would be hard to take into account the “casual” or “part-time” sex trade. One recent estimate put the figure at about 30,000 out of a population of about 1.5 million.”
That would mean that around one in every fifty people in Dubai is a prostitute. Just for comparison, if we take Britain, Google tells us The number of sex workers in the UK is estimated to be around 72,800 with about 32,000 working in London. The population of London is around 9 million. So one in every 280 Londoners is a sex worker. Per head of population, supposedly strict Islamic Dubai has more than five times as many prostitutes as soon-to-be-Islamic London. Even the Islamophiliac Guardian propaganda rag admits that “Dubai’s Islamic austerity is a sham – sex is for sale in every bar” and “Couples who publicly kiss are jailed, yet the state turns a blind eye to 30,000 imported prostitutes”.
And here’s some more useful information for COP28 attendees. Sex workers in London have an average of 25 clients per week paying an average of £78 per visit. But in Dubai you can apparently expect to pay a sex worker from £200 an hour and over £1,000 if you want an all-nighter.
Arabs from the Middle East’s stricter countries apparently flock to Dubai to pay for sex in such quantities that it is known by some residents as “Sodom-sur-Mer”. Most of the girls come on 3-month tourist visas for which thay pay around £300 which goes to visa agents and corrupt immigration officials. After all, what genuine tourist would want to spend 3 months of their lives admiring the ‘ancient’ splendours of ultra-modern Dubai? Assuming that just half of Dubai’s 30,000 sex workers take this route, that would net the visa agents and corrupt immigration officials over £18m a year. A better way for the girls to get rich quick is to pay around £5,000 for a 3-year residence visa. Moreover, the 30,000 figure probably doesn’t include thousands of girls who are lured to the city state by fake offers of a job as a housemaid or waitress only to find their traffickers confiscate their passports and force them into sex work.
Somehow there’s something rather appropriate about almost 100,000 of the world’s greatest hypocrites – those who fly around the world preaching to us about the need for us to stay trapped shivering from the sold in our 15-minute cities to supposedly save the planet – all attending a massive jamboree in what is possibly the world’s most hypocritical city.
I thought it might be worth spending a few moments on the recent Dublin stabbings. I haven’t read or watched much about them, so you probably know more than I do. However, from the little I have seen, I believe they are a perfect example of the 4 usual tricks our political elites and the sycophantic, self-serving media play on us whenever there is one of these incidents. By listing these, hopefully it will be easier for you to spot these next time there’s such an attack.
Trick 1: Obscuring the origin of the attacker
In the Dublin case you really had to search around to find that the stabber was an Algerian man. Most media didn’t report this at all. Others sought to misdirect us by claiming the stabber was “an Irish citizen”, which suggests he was Irish but doesn’t actually confirm this. But regular observers should know by now that whenever a stabber, or beheader or suicide bomber is referred to as an “Irish citizen” or as a “British citizen” or as a “French citizen”, this is intended to make us believe that the miscreant is home-grown when, in fact, they are inevitably West-hating migrants from Africa or the Middle East.
Trick 2: Finding a migrant hero
My limited understanding is that once the stabber started his attack, an Irish teaching assistant and then several others piled in to try to stop him. However, the media story which emerged focused mainly on the efforts of a Brazilian man who apparently hit the attacker with his motorcycle helmet. We also learnt that around £150,000 or whatever had been raised for this Brazilian ‘hero’. Obviously I don’t know what actually happened. But this focus on a Brazilian ‘hero’, while seemingly downplaying the efforts of the local Irish who also intervened, seems to be pushing a narrative – ‘isn’t immigration a wonderful thing when such brilliant people as the Brazilian ‘hero’ come to our country’. I haven’t checked the details, but I vaguely remember a similar thing with the Westminster Bridge stabbings, where some foreigner was also hailed as the hero of the moment. By choosing to find a foreigner who has supposedly ‘saved the day’, the media manage to change the story from what many people believe – mass Third-World immigration has been a total disaster – into what our rulers want us to believe – mass immigration is wonderful because diversity is our strength.
Trick 3: Branding protestors
Naturally, many locals were upset about thousands of Third-World migrants flooding into Ireland and being given accommodation, benefits and free everything while Irish people were shoved to the back of the queue. When news about the Algerian man stabbing children spread, there was a riot. Immediately, the politicians and police and media started branding the proptestors as “right-wing thugs” and “fascists” and “extermists” and suchlike. There was absolutely no recognition of the fact that many Irish were rightly incensed about the special treatment given to migrants and by the atrocities committed by some migrants. After all, it’s only just over a year (April 2022) since a gentleman of Arab descent murdered (beheaded) two gay Irish men.
Trick 4: Demanding more draconian hate laws
Looking at what happened, one might be tempted to conclude that the pace of mass immigration has vastly exceeded our ability to integrate the migrants into our societies. So, the stabbings should have led to consideration of possibly restricting the rate of immigration. But, of course, this didn’t happen. Instead the conclusion of the political and media elites was that we need more draconian laws preventing supposed ‘hate’. After all, if people are forbidden from expressing any concern about the rate of immigration and population replacement, then there will be no criticism of our rulers’ plans to flood our countries with millions more migrants. Hey presto, immigration problem solved!
Ireland’s “Plan 2040”
In 2019, I wrote a blog warning about Ireland’s “Plan 2040”. In this Plan 2040, it was expected that the population of the Irish Republic would rise by over one million. But the Irish birth rate is around 1.9 children per woman down from 4 children per woman in the 1960s and 1970s. The UK is at 1.8. But replacement level is 2.1 children per woman. So, the indigenous Irish population is actually declining.
The Irish population is around 4.8 million. Let’s assume that the indigenous population will decline to about 4 million by 2040 because of the falling birth rate and a long history of native Irish emigrating to the UK and other English-speaking countries in search of new opportunities. Then, of the 5.8 million people who (the Irish government predicts) will be living in Ireland by 2040, around 1.8 million – almost one in three ‘Irish’ – will be from Africa, the Middle East or places like Crapistan.
Am I really the only person who has realised what the Irish government’s plan will do to the country?
Ludicrously, the Irish Plan 2040 has nice pictures of rolling Irish countryside and happy white Irish families:
Perhaps photos of no-go, inner-city ghettoes with women dressed like Darth Vader on a bad hair day and the men screaming about their snackbar and demanding the introduction of Sharia Law would be more appropriate?
Though, of course, now Ireland has signed up to the UN Compact on Safe and Orderly Migration, with Ireland’s new hate laws anyone daring to criticise mass migration will probably be committing a criminal offence.
It’s clear that we’re in for an exciting time. The era of ‘pax Americana’ – where America was the world’s only superpower and the world’s policeman – is over. That has created a vacuum in global geopolitics and nature abhors a vacuum. So America and the West are being challenged for global domination by a new grouping of autocracies led by China.
The decline of the West
It’s obvious that the West is collapsing due to its own greed, complacency, lassitude and narcissistic self-absorbtion:
our rulers want all the trappings and benefits of power but none of the responsibilities. So they increasingly hand countries’ sovereignty over to international bodies such as the EU, the IMF, the WHO, the UN, the UNHCR etc
a whole generation has been indoctrinated to hate everything the West has achieved – personal liberty, freedom of speech, limited state interference in our lives, virtual eradication of poverty, education for all etc etc
ludicrous culture wars debilitate us as we are constantly being hectored that women can have penises, all our institutions are racist and we are consciously or even subconsciously racist
most of our mainstream media pours out a never-ending torrent of anti-Western propaganda
we are told that we should be paying reparations to all our former colonies to which we gave roads, railways, ports, schools, universities, the rule of law and so much more when they hadn’t even had the brains to invent the wheel
our ruling elites loathe us and do all they can to import Third-World migrants to destroy our communities and sense of belonging to a recognisable country
all our institutions – civil service, education, health, police – are failing as woke nonsense makes them more interested in internal navel-gazing than in doing the jobs they were set up to do. As our NHS claims a lack of money, it spends ever-increasing amounts on diversity managers and now our armed forces prioritise diversity targets, rather than ability, when hiring new recruits

The ascendancy of autocracies
As the West withers away, a new grouping of autocracies is rising in the East. Led by China, the core group is China, Russia, North Korea and Iran. Their leaders don’t have to worry about 4- or 5-year electoral cycles, so they can make longer-term plans for achieving their aims – economic and military conquest of the West and cementing their position as the new global superpowers.
The world takes sides
Watching this power struggle between a collapsing West and a rising East, many countries are deciding to back the likely winner. And they are choosing the China-led autocracies. In a previous blog, I warned about the growing size and power of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization and showed the list of countries who are already members and who are close to joining:

As you’ll see, the list includes several key previously pro-western oil-producing states. As Lady Bracknell might have said: “‘To lose one friendly Middle-East oil-producer, Mr Biden, may be regarded as a misfortune; to lose two (or even more) looks like carelessness.”
Who will win?
At the moment, most punters would probably put their money on the China-led autocracies emerging victorious. But democracies, for all their flaws, can be surprisingly resilient. We’re already seeing revolts against our useless, self-serving, quisling ruling elites in countries such as Hungary, Poland, Italy, Sweden, the Netherlands, Ireland and potentially France if Le Pen can unseat Macron. Moreover, hopefully Trump will win the 2024 US elections. Autocracies, on the other hand, look strong until they’re not. They can come quickly crashing down into rubble should the autocrat have a medical emergency (heart attack, stroke, cancer or whatever) or else be deposed in a coup.
Time to get in a few beers and pizzas and watch the fun.
I haven’t been able to write a blog for almost a week. But I was so incensed by the farce of the fake-Tories’ excuse for a budget that I feel I have to throw in my twopence.
Some commentators have noticed that due to fiscal drag – tax allowances not increasing in line with inflation – Chancellor Hunt’s supposed tax reductions will actually result in tax rises for most of us.
At least some people seem to understand that.
Of course, our fake-Tory MPs, like performing circus monkeys, clapped and cheered Hunt’s supposed economic brilliance which would supposedly lead to magnificent economic growth:
But has any of these idiots actually looked at what is happening to our country? Let’s just take two recent pieces of industrial news.
Our useless government is giving £500m of our money to a Chinese company which owns ‘British’ Steel to close down its blast furnaces, reduce the amount and qualities of steel it produces and fire more than 2,000 skilled, well-paid British workers. All this is in order to reduce the steel plant’s CO2 emissions to enable Britain to hit its economically-suicidal Net Zero targets. Our (IMHO) thicker than a thousand planks business and trade secretary, Kemi Badenoch (real name Olukemi Olufunto Badenoch), laughably claimed: “The UK government is backing our steel sector. This proposal will secure a sustainable future for Welsh steel and is expected to save thousands of jobs in the long term.”
And now we learn that the energy giant Petroineos announced on Wednesday that its oil refinery in Grangemouth (Scotland) will close in spring 2025 because it could no longer compete with overseas rivals. Repurposing the site to just a fuel import and distribution business is likely to result in the loss of about 400 of the current 500 jobs at the Firth of Forth site.
Neil Gray, the current cabinet secretary for wellbeing economy, fair work and energy (yes, there apparently is such a position in the clown SNP administration), said the closure was a “commercial decision” that reflected the Scottish government’s “ambitions” for decarbonising industry. Displaying a similar economic understanding and intelligence level to the above-mentioned economic genius Olukemi Olufunto Badenoch, Gray ludicrously claimed: “This is a commercial decision and it is our understanding that these works will future-proof the site to allow it to continue as an important fuel supply source for years to come. The Scottish government is committed to working with industry to secure a sustainable future for Grangemouth that reflects our ambitions for decarbonisation and a just transition for Scotland’s industrial sector while recognising the important role it plays in meeting fuel demand in Scotland.”
Hopefully readers will have noticed something none of our journalists seem to have noticed. Every time there is another economic disaster for Britain, the politician responsible issues almost exactly the same word salad of meaningless drivel claiming the disaster is a huge success for our country. So next time there is a similar economic catastrophe caused by our economically-suicidal Net Zero rush to economic oblivion, and there will be many more ‘next-times’, readers will recognise the usual verbiage of economically-illiterate nonsense put out by our lying, self-serving political elites.
While our worth-less politicians hurrah and cheer their plans for supposed economic growth, their stupid, economically-suicidal Net Zero policies are driving us towards economic decline and bankruptcy.
Sadly, when Starmer, Rayner and the appalling Miliband take over, our country’s plight will be even worse.

This video extols the joys of the 15-minutes cities, in which most of us will be incarcerated, while the elites jet around the world enjoying all the pleasures which will be denied to us. Writing this for some reason makes me think that our future may be moving towards something like the dystopian hell pictured in Soylent Green.

When the time comes to start repaying those loans for the poorly-constructed (by Chinese workers) bits of infarastructure, the rotten, corrupt, Third-world country can’t repay anything because anything which isn’t nailed down has been looted by the local incompetent, venal, bloodsucking kleptocrats and so China takes control of resources such as ports, mineral mines, agricultural land and whatever else China fancies:
China’s new empire
But not all readers may be aware of a much more important Chinese initiative – The Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO)
The SCO, formed in 2001 with objectives such as combating terrorism, promoting border security, strengthening political ties, and expanding economic cooperation, initially included China, Kazakhstan, Russia, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, and Kyrgyzstan:

India and Pakistan officially became members of the SCO in 2017, and Iran is in the process of obtaining full-time membership. Egypt and Qatar are dialogue partners, and Saudi Arabia, a traditional U.S. ally, has taken steps to join. Belarus is set to become a member in 2024 after signing a memorandum of obligations. And many more countries are lining up to join:
Countries around the world are working out who is going to emerge victorious in the struggle between a confident, resurgent China and the self-hating, collapsing West and have decided to join the winning side.
Please note how many of the world’s oil- and gas-producing countries are getting into bed with China. This doesn’t bode well for European economies which are dependent on these countries for their energy.
The SCO also plays a crucial role in Chinese military ambitions. In 2007, the SCO signed an agreement outlining the legal rights and responsibilities for military exercises in another member country. The agreement allows Chinese armed forces to engage in air-ground combat operations abroad, covering activities like long-distance mobilization, counterterrorism missions, stability maintenance operations, and conventional warfare.
Today, the SCO encompasses 42% of the global population and 32% of the global GDP.
The end of our history?
In 1992 American political scientist Francis Fukuyama wrote a book titled The End of History and the Last Man. This argues that with the ascendancy of Western liberal democracy —which occurred after the Cold War (1945–1991) and the dissolution of the Soviet Union (1991)—humanity has reached “not just… the passing of a particular period of post-war history, but the end of history as such: That is, the end-point of mankind’s ideological evolution and the universalization of Western liberal democracy as the final form of human government.”
Ooops, it seems like Mr Fukuyama got it wrong. Totally, one trillion percent wrong. As the Western so-called ‘liberal democracies’ commit economic, military and societal suicide with their ludicrous internecine culture wars, open-borders Third-World immigration and disastrously-destructive Net Zero policies, the rise and rise and rise of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization suggests that the end point of human government is not going to be the ‘liberal democracy’ predicted by Mr Fukuyama. It’s actually going to be venal, corrupt, incompetent, kleptocratic, oppressive totalitarianism.
How nice it is to start the week on such a positive note.

To summarise, from the little I understand, current electric vehicle (EV) technology is inadequte to make EVs a viable alternatice to ICE (Internal Combustion Engine) cars and anyone who buys an EV – people the marketers call “early adopters” – deserves an honorary degree in stupidity. Yet our governments are determined to force us all either to buy these things or else to give up having a car altogether. (Incidentally, the UK government’s energy plan foresees a 30% reduction in the number of cars on the road as EVs become the only option we will be allowed to buy) It may be the case that when EV battery technology develops solid-state batteries which have longer range and are less likely to burst into flames due to ‘thermal runaway’ that EVs will become viable. But even then, the problem with providing convenient charging probably cannot be solved.

Is South Korea ready for the electric car disaster?

Currently there are around 25.5 million cars on South Korea’s roads. Of these, around 390,000 – about 1.5 percent – are electric vehicles. According to the South Korean government’s plans to reduce the country’s carbon emissions to supposedly save the planet from man-made global warming, the percentage of electric cars should reach over 30% by 2030 and over 80% by 2050. But there are many reasons why these plans are unrealistic and could be disastrous for South Korean motorists. Here I’ll just deal with the three greatest problems with the South Korean government’s obsession with replacing petrol and diesel cars (internal combustion engine cars) with electric vehicles.
Issue 1: Fire risk -There have been many reports of electric vehicles catching fire due to a process called ‘thermal runaway’. This is caused either due to manufacturing faults or damage to the battery caused by minor scrapes and collisions. Several electric car owners have seen their houses burn down due to fires which started in their electric cars. But three more serious incidents have caused millions of dollars of damage just from one electric car catching fire. In February 2022, a fire broke out in an electric car on a car carrier, the Felicity Ace, which spread causing the ship to sink and the loss of 4,000 vehicles – both electric and internal combustion. In July 2023, another cargo vessel the Freemantle Highway caught fire and it took a week to extinguish the fire and salvage the ship. One rescue worker stated that the fire was due to an electric car exploding. But investigators have claimed that the cause of the fire is still unknown. In October 2023, a fire broke out in a multi-storey car park at London’s Luton Airport. The car park was completely destroyed and around 1,500 travellers’ cars were wrecked. It’s estimated that the damage from just one car catching fire, which then spread to other vehicles, will cost more than $30 million. The authorities have claimed that the fire started in a diesel car. But this seems unlikely as diesel is much less flammable than petrol or an electric car’s lithium-ion battery. But what is certain is that it was the intense heat caused by electric cars subsequently catching fire which led to the collapse of the car park and the loss of all the parked cars.
Statistics from the National Fire Research Institute for Korea show that in 2020 electric vehicle car batteries were only responsible for 0.52 percent of fires while combustion engine cars were responsible for 1.88 percent of fires. But when you take account that there are more than fifty times as many internal combustion engine cars in South Korea than electric vehicles, this suggests that electric vehicles are fifteen to twenty times more likely to catch fire than internal combustion equivalents. Similarly, figures on car fires in London suggest that fires are much more frequent in electric cars than in internal combustion vehicles. In 2022, the Paris metropolitan transport authority withdrew 149 electric buses from operation after two spontaneously ignited in separate incidents. And there are many videos on YouTube, particularly from China, showing shocking electric car explosions. The situation is so bad that come cynics have suggested that the English name for electric vehicles – EVs – should actually stand for Exploding Vehicles. Electric car fires burn at over twice the temperature of internal combustion engine cars and are much more difficult to extinguish. A particular worry is what will happen if there is an electric car fire in a basement car park of a building containing residential flats or offices. So several countries are considering new regulations restricting the transport and parking of electric vehicles.
Issue 2: Battery performance – when you buy an electric car you will no doubt be told by the salesperson the vehicle’s range on a full battery charge. This could be 200 kilometres or 300 kilometres or whatever. But it will always be much less, usually under half, as far as an equivalent internal combustion car. However, you will probably never achieve this stated range. For a start, most electric car manufacturers advise you to always keep the battery charged between 30% and 80%. It’s recommended that you should avoid going up to 100%. The manufacturers claim this is to preserve battery life. This may be true. But charging to 100% also greatly increases the risk of thermal runaway and an exploding car. There is even some discussion about restricting battery charging points so they cannot let you exceed an 80% charge. Moreover, if you use the car’s heating or air-conditioning or lights or windscreen wipers or any other feature requiring electric power, this will reduce the car battery’s range. In addition, electric car batteries deteriorate over time thus reducing the potential range and it’s likely that after eight to ten years, your car battery will need to be replaced. Given that around half the cost of an electric car is the battery, this means the car is almost worthless when the original battery has to be replaced. Another problem is the time it takes to charge an electric vehicle battery, which can be several hours, compared to the few minutes necessary to fill the tank of an internal combustion car. There are fast chargers available in some locations. But even though quick charging may not cause immediate harm to the battery,repeated and sustained use of fast charging might hasten the battery’s overall decline over time. Reduced energy storage capacity, a shorter range and a higher frequency of battery changes can all be consequences of this degradation.
Issue 3: Consumer resistance – while governments in many advanced countries are convinced that internal combustion cars need to be replaced by electric cars to save the planet from what United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres called ‘global boiling’, car buyers may not be quite so enthusiastic with this plan. For a start, electric cars usually cost about $10,000 more than their petrol or diesel equivalents. Moreover, they will typically last at least five years less than similar petrol or diesel versions. Then there is the cost of insurance. Insurance companies are realising that even minor accidents or just hitting a kerb badly can cause battery damage requiring the battery to be replaced and are increasing the cost of insurance for electric cars. In some cases a petrol car might cost $500 a year to insure while its electric equivalent may cost up to $5,000 a year for insurance. Some insurance companies are even refusing to insure electric cars. And insurance costs may increase further as no insurance company wants to fork out $10 million or more if an electric vehicle burns down a car park or office or apartment building. Further issues which may discourage buyers are the fact that electric vehicles weigh much more than petrol or diesel cars meaning the tyres have to be replaced more often. A particular problem for South Korea is that, being close to China, most of the cheaper electric cars sold will made in China to typical Chinese rather than Korean quality levels. This may be a worry due to the risk of electric car fires from low-quality batteries.
If the Earth really was boiling as the climate catastrophists claim, then there might be a case for moving from internal combustion to electric cars. But as climate change is a totally natural phenomenon driven mainly by variations in the Earth’s orbit, levels of solar activity and cyclical weather phenomena such as the El Niňo Southern Oscillation and La Nina, governments’ decision to ‘go electric’ is completely unnecessary. As for electric cars, it’s clear that the technology is not yet ready as they are range limited, have a limited lifetime, are much more expensive than internal combustion equivalents to buy and insure and may even be dangerous due to thermal runaway. In the future – in ten to twenty years – when manufacturers have developed less dangerous solid-state batteries with much longer range than current lithium ion batteries, electric cars may become viable. But with existing technology they are a disaster and will only impose massive costs on ordinary Korean families and businesses for no benefit at all.

I could go on. But you probably get the picture by now.
All this makes me wonder if the real reason behind the Islam-loving, UK-hating BBC’s outrage and the marching mobs is actually hatred of Jews rather than any sympathy with our Muslim friends. But hey, what do I know?
Hamas love dead Palestinian children
And here’s a short video from a rather unpleasant website showing how the BBC’s and the protestors’ Islamic Hamas friends situate rocket-launchers in a scouts meeting room and in a children’s amusement park in the hope that Israeli retaliation will kill and injure Palestinian children. After all, dead and injured Palestinian children make great propaganda for our Islam-loving, UK-hating BBC and the Jew-loathing protesting mobs:
The craziest story of the last few months must be the shenanigans at Chinese-owned ‘British’ Steel. In order to reduce the company’s carbon emissions to save the planet from non-existent ‘global boiling’, our useless fake Conservative government is giving ‘British’ Steel’s Chinese owners around £500m of our money to close down its blast furnaces, replace them by supposedly ‘environmentally-friendly’ electric arc furnaces and, in the process, fire over 2,000 skilled British workers. A cynic might wonder how much effect the closure of these blast furnaces will actually have on the Earth’s climate.
When questioned about the ‘wisdom’ of this, the business and trade secretary, Kemi Badenoch (real name Olukemi Olufunto Badenoch), laughably claimed: “The UK government is backing our steel sector. This proposal will secure a sustainable future for Welsh steel and is expected to save thousands of jobs in the long term.”
The only possibly amusing part of this disaster is that the Labour-supporting unions are beginning to see the catastrophic real-life consequences of their party’s (Ed Miliband’s) Climate Change Act on what little is left of the British economy, “This deal will have devastating consequences for jobs and workers,” said Gary Smith, the general secretary of the GMB. “It will rip the heart out of the Port Talbot community.”
I’d like to write more about this, but the stupidity is so mindbogglingly obvious, there’s really not much more that can be said.
Australia to become renewable energy superpower
This leads on to a rather entertaining (for all of us who have given up any hope of having intelligent politicians) story from Down Under. Our UK politicians are forever telling us that by abandoning cheap, reliable coal and gas energy and replacing it with unreliable and expensive supposedly ‘clean renewables’ like wind and solar, Britain will somehow become a “clean energy superpower”.
Our Prime Minister, Rishi Sunak, has said: “We need to move further and faster to transition to renewable energy, and I will ensure the UK is at the forefront of this global movement as a clean energy superpower“.
And here’s a quote from the Labour Party’s current 2024 promises to Britain: “Labour’s fourth mission in government will be to make Britain a clean energy superpower. We will make energy cheap and secure, so that the British public never again face spiralling bills; boost jobs and investment in every region and nation of the country; and grow our economy from the bottom up and the middle out.”
Of course, this is complete nonsense. As I have shown in previous blogs, the more renewable/clean energy a country relies on, the higher its energy costs and therefore the less competitive its industries are. You don’t need a PhD in economics to understand that. So the phrase ‘clean energy superpower’ is a brobdingnagian-sized oxymoron. If you have gloriously cheap, reliable fossil-fuel energy, you can become a superpower like China. If you are reliant on hideously expensive and unreliable supposedly ‘clean’ energy, you bankrupt your country.
Well, it appears that our friends from Down Under are making the same ludicrous promises to their long-suffering population as their few remaining industries are crushed by Australia’s ever-more-clean, ever-increasing energy costs.
As Australia’s Minister for Climate Change and Energy recently explained: ‘Our Government is laying out the roadmap for our nation to become a renewable energy superpower’. And the Australian Treasury proudly announced: ‘The Albanese Government’s second Budget will help to unlock Australia’s potential as a renewable energy superpower with significant investments in clean energy industries and jobs’.

Here are just four reasons why I believe Israel will lose the war against Iran-backed Hamas and Iran’s other chums in the Middle East:
Reason 1: An impossible task
Israel claims it wants to destroy Hamas. There are apparently about 30,000 to 40,000 Hamas fighters. How many can Israel actually kill? 1,000? 2,000? 5,000? More? But it would be impossible for Israel to kill 30,000 to 40,000. Moreover, for every Hamas member killed there will be 5 or 10 or even 20 new volunteers. As they say, you can kill people, but you cannot kill an idea. In this case the ‘idea’ ranges from establishing a Palestinian state to murdering all Jews as is dictated in the Religion of Wonderfulness’s holy book.
Reason 2: A diplomatic and public relations disaster
Israel sees itself as a tiny, vulnerable country of about 7 million Jews and a couple of million Arabs surrounded by a group of hostile Arab states with a population of over 465 million. So the Israelis see the current battle as a fight for survival and cannot understand why the rest of the world doesn’t see this. However, most of the world sees the battle as a heavily-armed Israeli military attacking an almost defenceless Palestinian population of about 2.3 million, around half of whom are under the age of eighteen. The daily picures of wrecked Gazan buildings and wounded and dead Palestinians are a diplomatic and public relations disaster for Israel and are making Israel into a pariah state
Reason 3: Asymetric warfare
It’s clear that militarily Israel is more powerful than Hamas. But Vietnam, Afghanistan and more recently Russia’s invasion of Ukraine has show us that military superiority doesn’t always equal battlefield victory. Israel has repeatedly shown it can defeat Arab armies in conventional warfare. What Hamas have done is effectively use asymetric warfare to negate Israel’s military advantage by drawing Israel into a modern-day Stalingrad of urban and tunnel warfare which may give Hamas the advantage. The Germans reduced Stalingrad to rubble but still couldn’t win. The world will not allow Israel to use the same tactics in the heavily populated Gaza Strip. Moreover, it took the Americans and Iraqi forces nine months to drive ISIS out of Mosul. Israel will only have a couple of weeks at most before it is forced by international pressure into some kind of ceasefire. Then the Israeli army will probably end up withdrawing from the Gaza Strip leaving most of Hamas’s infrastructure intact – ready for the next attack on Israel.
Reason 4: Israel has shown it is vulnerable
The 7th October Hamas attack and the current Gaza quagmire has shown Israel’s enemies that the country is no longer militarily invincible. This will invite ever more attacks which eventually will overwhelm Israel’s capacity to defend itself.
Can Israel ever be a viable state?
In its 75-year existence, Israel has achieved the impossible – turning a small piece of Middle-East scrubland into one of the world’s most fertile, technically-advanced and democratic countries. Ideally, the international community should come together to achieve a two-state solution. But Israel’s enemies’ implacable hatred of the Jews is such that I have my doubts whether the Arabs would ever stop their attacks on Israel whatever land or other concessions the Israelis make. I doubt Israel can survive to reach 100 years.
Israel is only around 290 miles long and 85 miles at the widest point. The only solution I can see is for an international agreement gradually handing over Israel’s land to the Palestinians over maybe a 10-year period and using money from the oil-rich Gulf states to pay for Israelis to move to any country of their choosing with the agreement they will be given citizenship of their country of choice. After all, in 2022, around 2.8 million migrants entered the USA, about one million came to Britain, probably over one million came to Europe. So there should be no problem for countries to absorb just over 7 million highly-educated, highly-productive Israelis over a period of say ten years.
Another advantage of this would be that Western countries could expel anyone claiming to be a Palestinian refugee as the Palestinians would now have their own glorious country. Though, as we all know, within just a few years of taking over Israeli land, the corrupt, incompetent, multi-multi-millionaire Palestinian leaders would have turned rich, fertile, technically-advanced Israel into poverty-stricken, backwards scrubland with a couple of mangy goats and a few half-hearted olive trees.
If this handing over of Israeli land was to happen – and I realise it won’t – the fun part would be to see the reactions of the Israeli Arabs. Now they jump around sceaming their mouth-frothing hatred of Israelis and the West while having all the advantages of living in a rich democratic country with abundant job opportunities. But I suspect that, when faced with the prospect of living in unemployed poverty whie being governed by incompetent, venal, primitive, kleptocrat Hamas or PLO butchers, most Israeli Arabs would much rather follow the Israeli Jews away from the Holy Land.
The bleeding-heart progressive liberals in the West no doubt believe that sacrificing Israel to our Religion of Wonderfulness friends will appease them. But in a sense, this proposal could be called ‘The Crocodile Strategy’ – by surrendering other people to the crocodile, you hope the crocodile will not eat you. If this were ever to happen, the pro-Palestinian mobs would soon find out that the crocodile is not so easily appeased and the end of Israel will only delay, not avoid, an eventual confrontation with those who hate us and want to dominate us:
I understand that Israel had to respond to the 7th October Hamas attacks. But by responding, Israel may be committing suicide. Here’s someone explaining Israel’s dilemma better than I can. He does say some things I disagree with such as the Gaza Strip being like an open-air prison. In fact the Gaza Strip is such an impoverished hell-hole because Hamas have stolen the many billions in foreign aid given to Gaza and used it to build their 300 miles of tunnels, buy weapons and make Hamas leaders richer than Croesus:
