The budget – I told you so

I won’t go into detail about the useless gherkin, kicking-the-can-down-the-road budget. Plenty of people much smarter than myself have done that. I’ll just make two brief comments.

I told you so: I predicted in yesterday’s blog that John ‘Dennis’ Healey would blether on claiming that the UK had the highest economic growth in the G7 or OECD or whatever. Here’s what Healey said: “Britain is defying expectations, In the first half of this year, our economy was the fastest growing in the G7, alongside the US.”

Borrowing and wasting in not growth. As I have repeatedly tried to explain, borrowing billions and wasting them on the idle, the illegals, the fake disabled, the increasingly-bloated, overpaid, over-pensioned public sector and the enemy within is not real economic growth. The UK GDP is about £3 trillion. Predicted economic growth for 2027/8 is around 1% – that’s about £30 billion. In the same period, the UK government is expected to borrow  £312.6 billion versus the £307.6 billion ​it predicted in March and April. So the UK government will be borrowing (and mostly wasting?) ten times the amount it is predicting in supposed ‘economic growth’.

Seriously, how can anyone except an economist, Labour politician or BBC journalist claim the 1% is real economic growth?

This ‘minor’ story doesn’t seem to have been noticed by the British mainstream media.

In a letter written to the UN Special Rapporteur on Freedom of Religion, an organisation called Genocide Watch claimed:

Muslim jihadist attacks on churches, religiously sponsored schools, and Christian villages in Nigeria directly threaten freedom of religion or belief. Two jihadist groups, Boko Haram and the Islamic State in West Africa Province (ISWAP) have murdered over  30,000 Christians and moderate Muslims since 2009. Fulani jihadist militias have murdered another 30,000 Christian civilians, burned their villages, and declared the villages to be part of a “Caliphate.”

Of course, the Lefties don’t complain about this as it’s just our friends from the Religion of Peace killing Christians. Genocide is only exciting for our keffiya-wearing Lefties when it’s those supposedly ‘evil’ Jews trying to prevent themselves being slaughtered by ‘peace-loving’ Palestinians.
