How they twist the news.

Tuesday blog

A very short one today.

The BBC Breakfast programme reported this morning: “The UK economy is forecast to grow by more than previously expected this year …….. The organisation’s (International Monetary Fund – IMF) latest report, which is closely watched by the government, said the UK economy would expand by 1.3% in 2026, up from the 1% it predicted in July”.

And the BBC presented this as a great achievement for our fake pipsqueak PM Andrew ‘EU’ Burnham’s shambles of a government.

But the Daily Mail reported: “The IMF cut its 2027 growth forecast for Britain from 1.3 per cent to 1.2 per cent ‘as higher energy prices and long-term interest rates weigh on consumption and investment’.

There seems to be a bit of a discrepancy between what BBC Breakfast claimed and the Daily Mail’s version.

The explanation of this discrepancy comes if you read the full BBC article (which very few people will look at) on the BBC’s website: “higher energy prices and interest rates hit growth in 2027, the International Monetary Fund (IMF) has said.“

What has actually happened was that the IMF has slightly upgraded UK growth forecasts for 2026 but downgraded them for 2027. BBC Breakfast editors chose to emphasise the upgraded 2026 forecasts while not mentioning the 2027 IMF downgrade, while the Daily Mail chose to ignore the 2026 upgrade and just focus on the 2027 downgrade.

That poses the question – can you believe anything in the news nowadays or is everything spun to suit the political biases of the supposed ‘journalists’?

Outnumbered?

Yesterday Reform delivered a (IMHO) very hard-hitting attack on Burnham’s Open-Borders illegal migration catastrophe. Here’s a speech by the wonderful Eva Vlaardingerbroek at a recent conference in Hungary in which she raises the concern that white Europeans will soon be a minority in their own countries:
