Thursday-Friday blog
I’m short of time today but wanted to briefly express my amazement at the apparent escalation in bile being vomited at Donald Trump by the British media over Trump’s Ukraine peace plan.
For me the situation is clear. Trump’s first step is to bring Ukraine into line with the Americans’ peace plan. To do this Trump and Vance have explained to Zelensky that most Americans don’t really care what happens to his crappy little venal impoverished country and most Americans don’t see why they should be pouring hundreds of billions of their dollars to defend one of the most corrupt countries in Europe. After his initial shock at being faced with reality, Zelensky seems to have fallen into line.
This very public and well-deserved spancking of Zelensky has led to Trump being accused of being Putin’s pawn and the world’s worst negotiator and a traitor to the West etc etc. European leaders have also all ganged up against America pledging their eternal support for Ukraine. But I rather doubt that Putin will be terribly afraid of the mussel-munching Belgian army (does Belgium even have an army?), the white-flag-waving cheese-eating French army, the laughably bankrupt Greek army and the German army forced to train with broomsticks when Ursula Fond of Lying was German defence minister as the soldiers didn’t have sufficient rifles.
Now Trump needs to bring the Russians to the negotiating table. This will be harder. But Russia cannot afford to continue their war for several more years. So eventually there must be some movement. If not, I expect Trump to kick Russia’s ass so bad Putin won’t be able to sit down for weeks.
I have previously explained that Trump is playing what’s called ‘The Great Game’. He wants to bring Russia back into the mainstream of western alliances in order to weaken the links between Russia and China as America sees China and not Russia as the main threat to America’s security.
Here’s an article I wrote for the UKDefenceMatters website outlining what none of our British supposed military and media ‘experts’ appear to understand:

And here’s the excellent Victor Davis Hanson explaining how America sees the Europe/Ukraine issue:
When i see Van de Leyen talking defence all i can see are the dollar or euro signs in her eyes. Her track record in Germany is interesting to say the least and somehow (can guess why) she now finds herself at the top of the eu dogpile keen to sign off more contracts for defence. She has lots of contacts and experience for sure although how effective her spending will be for the military will be good to watch. No doubt all the fat overstaffed upper echelons of the UK military will be keen to advise and find a role spending some of the money on boys toys whilst the lower ranks attend their diversity training courses. I have nothing but contempt for these greedy lazy people.
