Police – Diversity more important than crime?
Hopefully all readers will fondly remember Cressida Dick. Dame Cressida Rose Dick DBE QPM is a British retired senior police officer who served as Commissioner of London’s Metropolitan Police from 2017 to 2022. She is both the first female and first openly homosexual officer to lead the Metropolitan Police Service, or the Met, in London. Dick joined the Met in 1983.
When appointed, New Met chief Cressida Dick reportedly said: “diversity is at the heart of her role“. In 2018, Dick launched a campaign to increase the proportion of female officers in the MPS. At the time, 27% of Met officers were women; Dick aimed to increase that figure to 50% over time, although she did not set a target date. Later she was quoted as saying: �We�re growing, we�re bigger, more capable, more diverse, more scrutinised and better equipped than ever before. The streets are safer and I�m proud of that.�
Despite the venerable Ms Dick claiming London streets were safer under her magnificent management, the crime figures recorded by the police told a different story:
You’ll see crime increased every year that Dick was in charge of the Met only dropping in 2020 when the lab-leaked Sino/American plague lockdowns were imposed.
Just in the year Cressida launched her campaign to increase the number of female policepersons, there was around a 20% increase in violent crime:
As is always the case in our useless public sector, Ms Dick got lots of gongs and stuff rewarding her failure:
From what I have read, Cressida herself ticked a few important diversity boxes: female – tick; lesbian – tick; married to a woman – tick. If only she had been black or Asian, she’d have had a ‘full house’. A cynic might be tempted to conclude that Cressida Dick was chosen for her diversity credentials and not for any ability to fight crime which increased inexorably under her watch. Cressida was eventually pushed to resign (with about �160,000 of our money plus a massive pension) after a series of blunders and scandals.

NHS – Diversity more important than patient care?
This is the latest big boss at the NHS:
In my weekend blog about our collapsing NHS hiring ever more DIE (Diversity, Inclusion and Equality) managers, I featured a few job descriptions of these (IMHO) completely worthless individuals. Hopefully you noticed that the words ‘patient care’ are absent from these job vacancies. In fact, most focus on achieving the NHS’s DIE targets:
- The post-holder will seek out and interpret national guidance and legislation relating to equality, diversity, and inclusion giving specialist advice to directors and managers, clinical leads and Board members to ensure due regard for equality and diversity in their ongoing work programmes
- Working as part of the Workforce and OD Directorate and reporting into the Deputy Director of Workforce and OD, you will need to be passionate about developing a diverse and inclusive culture and have a value set that fits with our Trust and the NHS
- You will lead on the development and implementation of the Trusts strategic EDI objectives ensuring the involvement of diverse groups and people with lived experience in the development and implementation of our plans
Not much focus on patients there.
But the greatest stupidity of the NHS’s current obsession with diversity is that in terms of the ethnicity of its workforce, the NHS is already more diverse than the UK population:
- Of the NHS�s 1.3 million employees, 77.9% are white compared to 85.6% of the working-age population and 86% of the total population; 10.7% are Asian compared to 7.2% of the working-age population and 7.5% of the total population; and 6.5% are Black compared to only 3.4% of the working-age population and 3.3% of the total population
- Among consultants 59.9% are White compared to 77.9% of NHS employees being White. A huge 29.1% are Asian compared to only 10.7% of NHS employees being Asian. And 2.9% are Black compared to 6.5% of NHS employees being Black. So, Asians are over-represented at this level while Blacks are under-represented.
History repeating itself?
Amanda Pritchard may turn out to be the best leader the NHS has ever had. She may well be relentlessly focused on cutting waiting lists and improving patient care. But looking at the number and type of DIE roles our crisis-hit NHS is currently advertising, a cynic might be forgiven for concluding that the Cressida Dick woke managerial car crash at the Met is now being repeated almost word for word in the increasingly woke NHS. Like the Met, the NHS could seem to be becoming a totally dysfunctional organisation which has forgotten why it exists. Like the Met, the NHS could seem to be spending more time obsessing about and woke-ifying its own internal organisation than on trying to deliver what it was set up to do.
I think we all can see what happens next. And it won’t be good for patients.
Mrs Pritchard is married with children. But a degree from Oxford in modern history vs Ms Dick agriculture would hint they are very similar political animals.
Mrs Pritchard surely has the easiest job ever. All blame for failure lands on the prime minister.
Great video. ‘Fail to improve’ seems to be a mantra for all tax payer funded institutions. Most managerial employees spend their time justifying their jobs and ensuring they don’t lose them.
Equality and diversity are two of the heads of the evil monster that is socialism. Marx saw socialism as the first stage of the collapse of the capitalism and free-trade, so let us not be fooled by the view of today’s socialists talking of equality, fairness, opportunity and wealth. They have realised that force cannot be used to bring about control of everything we do and so they use empty words and propaganda to brainwash us and it seems to be working well. Hitler was a socialist. The clue is in the NAZI name, but using the acronym and talk of the horrors, avoids discussing the reality that it was a socialist regime and that is where the world is heading.
Socialists must control everything and they set targets as discussed about the police, but they lie about what they are achieving and avoid all accountability because democracy is an utter sham. The NHS is just the same as the police. If the state ran hotels the standard would be dormitories shared with illegal immigrants, and bed shortages. If they ran supermarkets we would be starving and the signs are that the states are taking over food production in the name of preventing climate change. Many believe that the covid vaccines were about population control but the NHS workers supported them more than any other therapy without any evidence of their effectiveness and risks. That is the opposite of what a health service should be about.
The other two heads of the evil socialist monster are bankers and politicians. The bankers have used fractional reserve banking and quantitive easing to effectively counterfeit money and profit massively from the the wealth they take from us in the form of interest payments. The banker do this with the approval of politicians who have allowed the state to build up debt from the fraud of money printing. Very few politicians show any indication that they work for our benefit. The politicians tell us that printing worthless money will stimulate the economy, but after more that 100 years of this they cannot see that all it does is produce a cycle of boom and bust. They are not concerned about the government debt and how it will be paid.
The WEF knows money printing has come to an end. They cannot use the normal means of controlling inflation by interest rate increases because it will immediately start bankruptcies. The elites have acquired all the wealth they need and the WEF is probably the only organisation telling us the truth – you will own nothing. It is just a matter of time before they implement the final stage of putting the socialist monster in control.
It is also true of education and has been since the early 60’s.I should know because I was in the system from 1969 until 2007.During this time I saw the implementation of common purpose and the gradual dumbing down and decline of rigour within the curricula.I only survived because I had a Lancashire accent and it was assumed that one was a socialist.I was also teaching in a part of rural England where conservative values were,amongst parents and sufficient teachers,still strong and resistance lasted much longer than in urban areas.Interestingly,given Rishi’s recent Maths statekment of intent I witnessed the dumbing down of maths in my own discipline,Geography.When Iwas teaching in the 70’s and 80’s,maths was embedded.Gradually,virtually all mathematical work disappeared from the Geography syllabus.In my final year the mathematcal task on the map reading section was a simple straight line measurement,something an average year 7 student could easily accomplish.If pupils can see the application of maths in other areas of learning and the world of work they are more likely to take it seriously.
