A manual of *sl*mic law certified as a reliable guide to Sunni orthodoxy by Al-Azhar University, the most respected authority in Sunni *sl*m, says that “retaliation is obligatory against anyone who kills a human being purely intentionally and without right.” However, “not subject to retaliation” is “a father or mother (or their fathers or mothers) for killing their offspring, or offspring’s offspring.” (‘Umdat al-Salik o1.1-2). In other words, someone who kills his child incurs no legal penalty under *sl*mic law.
The Palestinian Authority gives pardons or suspended sentences for “honour murders”. Iraqi women have asked for tougher sentences for *sl*mic honour murderers, who get off lightly now. Good luck to them. And in 2003 the Jordanian Parliament voted down on *sl*mic grounds a provision designed to stiffen penalties for honour killings. Al-Jazeera reported that “*sl*mists and conservatives said the laws violated religious traditions and would destroy families and values.”
There are about 5,000 “honour killings” every year – around 100 every week.

Don’t under-estimate its “wisdom”.
My local paper arrived this morning and I was surprised to see the front cover consisted of a full page advertisement from an *sl*m*c organisation claiming that the Q*r*n revealed the existence of the Cosmic Microwave background radiation from the Big Bang no less than 1300 years before Penzias and Wilson received their Nobel prize for the same.
I hope they will do the decent thing now and return said prize. There should also be considerable scope for saving money on unnecessary scientific research in general as it seems we can find the answers from the Q*r*n much more economically.

As to Islam one hold the have on people is they tell them the world did not come out of nothing but was created. Much of their evidence against the unproven theory of evolution is taking from US/Australian Creation and intelligent design sites and videos on youtube.
